Reviews From Real Travelers
We go here on special occasions and today was as fabulous as ever. Food and service was superb. I don’t understand bad reviews. We always receive a warm welcome and today was particularly special as we were celebrating the forthcoming wedding of my cousin and her fiancé. Thank you to the Lethbridge family. Especially lovely to see Oliver.

Arrived to a very friendly welcome from the owner.. Nice bar with well kept Butcombe and a good reasonable wine list. Room comfortable. Very good evening meal and breakfast. All staff friendly and efficient. Would thoroughly recommend

Reviews From Real Travelers
Hotel was easy to find on the A350 just outside the town - plenty of parking close to reception. Staff friendly and helpful throughout our 2 night stop. Rooms large and airy and clean - more drawer space than I’ve ever seen. Easy walking into town centre where we enjoyed a meal at Chutney’s. Regret not checking that the hotel has a pool! Breakfast amongst the very best I’ve ever had. We had a family lunch booked in Stourpaine but after seeing the Sunday Carvery would take that on another visit Thoroughly recommend and I hope we can stay again in a stunning part of the UK

The friends we went to from the airport were very convenient. It would be great if we took a taxi directly. Then the front desk service was very friendly. We stayed in so many hotels and felt that the price performance of the hotel was very high. Recommended

Reviews From Real Travelers
We have visited The Lamb on several occasions & you will see from a previous review that we really liked it! Unfortunately on this occasion we were very disappointed, The Roast dinner was swimming in gravy which was extremely salty, the beef was tough and full of gristle , the potatoes hard and the cauliflower cheese didn’t taste of cheese! My Mum had the pie which was ok but the vegetables & potatoes served with it were cold , the Burger that my husband had was so over cooked it was rubbery and was nothing like the description on the menu and the chips he described as having been reheated several times! Our friend who is 95 had the scallops which was a starter portion so not going to be huge but again not great , she said they were chewy because they were over cooked and the portion even for a starter was ridiculously small!! We decided to try puddings after a disappointing lunch & to be fair the chocolate fondant was nice, but our friend decided on the Hindon mess, (Eton mess) and I think it had maybe 2/3 probably frozen strawberries as very squishy in it , very little meringue and basically a glass full of cream! She couldn’t eat it & that’s the first time I’ve ever seen her leave a pudding! & just to finish things off we ordered two black coffees which were so bitter & strong they were hard to drink, & when we got the bill they were listed as large , they didn’t even fill the small cup. As you can probably tell we really didn’t enjoy our meal, but didn’t make a fuss at the time as we were treating our elderly guests & it was embarrassing as we’d chosen to eat here. Its not a cheap place to eat so you expect a lot better than this?? As I said at the start we’ve eaten here several times and it’s been lovely, so we were extremely disappointed, New Chef?? or just a bad day?? Don’t know but after such a bad meal I don’t think we will be back 😢

A lovely 2 nights away in a pub with rooms - not an hotel - but just perfect. After a tiresome day log fires to sit in front of to relax with a good pint of Youngs ale or tea/coffee. Excellent menu and the Lamb seems well known for their 30-day dry aged steaks. Superbly cooked and highly flavoured. Also the duck was highly recommended by my wife as was the fish we had on our first night. A small but comfortable room with en-suite facilities with a bed that was perfect. If you prefer a homely stay overseen by excellent staff this is the place. Beautiful countryside all around as Hindon is on the edge of Cranborne Chase and close to Salisbury where the cathedral is well worth a visit.
