"We booked this hotel last minute over half term and decided to visit a few places in the area. This hotel is hidden away just over 10 minutes from Chesterfield and the first thing you’ll notice after checking in is the unrivalled views from the bedrooms, a lovely escape from city hotels we would usually stay in. The reception and checking in experience was great, a friendly team and useful information given. There is some building work on site which has been mentioned by other reviewers but don’t let it put you off, we didn’t hear anything through our stay. The room itself was particularly large for a standard double, good size wall mounted flatscreen TV, the largest bed we’ve ever had in a hotel (Emperor, around 2m in width) and as already mentioned, great views over the hotel grounds and surrounding peaks. We were disappointed with the bathroom on two counts; the bath, which was lovely, took just over 35 minutes to fill, not what you want when trying to relax and unwind, this needs looking into, either the water pressure or the taps themselves, and secondly the shower, goes all over the whole bathroom floor when attempting any kind of shower, it’s completely open to the rest of the room. Bluetooth mirror was a nice touch. We had breakfast the next morning in the Red Lion which is the hotels restaurant and this was excellent. Service was fast, hot pastries, well presented restaurant quality food all around - absolutely no complaints here. We will definitely be back here, and whilst there was nothing wrong with our room overall, we would choose a different one, perhaps a suite next time - they look beautiful. One tip for upcoming travellers - check prices around. On each of the nights we looked into, not once was the hotel website the best price, the third party sites undercut by in excess of £10 every time we looked."
"We booked in for one night but liked it so much we booked an extra night - we arrived in Chesterfield by train so didn't have a vehicle but it was easy to get a cab to and from the station, and into Chesterfield to look round (lovely outdoor market and good bar at the Bottle & Thyme). This hotel is gorgeous - wonderfully decorated in every nook and cranny, so even though the decor is varied it all ties in together and creates a lovely harmonious space. We ate in the hotel both nights and had great food each time. One night was very busy so the wait was a bit longer, but the staff explained and apologised and didn't leave us wondering - and we were happy enjoying the surroundings and some lovely wine. When we went in the bar the barman knew about the drinks and even managed to track down something we wanted which wasn't behind the bar. The room was very comfortable and had everything we needed - great bed, fresh towels and bathroom supplies, tea/coffee/biscuits/bottled water. The room - and every area of the hotel we saw - was spotlessly clean. The staff were, without exception, very responsive and efficient - I can't recommend the hotel highly enough. We'll definitely be back when we can spend longer there."
"Ive just returned from my second stay at Peak Edge. It felt like home returning to the Hotel:) From entering and seeing & (hearing :) the excellent reception team. The food in restaurant is wonderful (my three guests over two nights dinner loved it ! ). The service from Jamie the two Toms, Adam and the new lady who started on my second day were all perfect. “Nothing” during my stay was a problem even thou my sister says “i” am a problem most of the time. The lovely Bri helped me pack my suitcase and helped me load my car up to leave. Im going back !!!"
