"We have just returned from spending two nights at this delightful place. We stayed in the Sir Richard room and couldn’t fault it in any way. The Sleigh bed was large(my husband is 6’2”) and very comfortable. We received a brilliant welcome from the Hosts Paul and Tina and the staff couldn’t do enough for us. As avid bargain hunters we decided to catch the bus into Matlock to scour the Antique and Charity shops on the Saturday. We were advised which bus to get(bus stop is right outside) and which bus to return. The meals were phenomenal and extremely tasty. On Friday I had the Lamb Burger and my husband had the Grouse , absolutely gorgeous. Then on Saturday I had the Fillet Rossini-Rare and cooked to perfection and Husband had the Game pie again absolutely Gorgeous. Both saturday and sunday we had full english breakfasts which were delicious. Even though we only stayed two nights we were made to feel extremely welcome by the hosts and all the staff. We had very interesting chats with Toni who never seemed to stop working with a smile on her face and even a gossip with the cleaner Lynn who just kept cleaning and cleaning! Brilliant place We shall definately stay again because we want to view the area even more. Thankyou to everyone at The Greyhound Hotel for making our weekend perfect."
"Checked in on the Saturday, having had a couple of drinks in the bar beforehand. Made to feel welcome immediately by Tina, who didn’t stop smiling until we left on Sunday lunchtime. Room had everything you need plus plenty of additional goodies too. We had dinner at the Greyhound on Saturday night, with the fillet steak being the tenderest I can remember having! Breakfast likewise was excellent and more than enough to set us up for the day. We will certainly return to enjoy the food and hospitality again with Paul, Tina and the family. "
"We checked into this lovely pub for Valentine’s day. All the staff were very welcoming and our room, Market room, was excellent and very comfortable. Nice touches like coffee machine, bottled water and locally produced chocolates. We chose our evening meal from the extensive A La Carte menu, fillet Rossini and lamb rump, both were very enjoyable. Although we only had a simple breakfast, there was an excellent selection of freshly cooked options to choose from. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay."

"The hotel is superb. I booked two super nice restaurants for my friends and myself. The restaurants are also white and very romantic, with small and artistic rooms. The bathrooms are very large. The staying experience is very clean and comfortable. Highly recommended. Live"

"It is only over one kilometer away from the 05 version of "Pride and Prejudice". Walking along the path, the scenery is excellent. The hotel is clean and tidy, and there is a country pub downstairs with Western food. It is much cheaper than the nearby Cavendish Hotel."
"Cross the village from behind the hotel and walk to the beautiful Darcy Manor in 10 minutes. Breakfast is buffet and order. The taste is not bad. Most of the occupants are old people. Did not see the child."
"The hotel is very good, the location environment service and so on, everything is perfect, ten minutes drive from Darcy Manor, the hotel is free to park, the restaurant's steak is super delicious!"

"We escaped to the Devonshire Arms having had our main holiday cancelled and what a treat it was. Five stars all the way for this delightful pub with superbly finished rooms. The rooms all have a superb bathroom with a high pressure shower and really high quality fitments. The beds are supremely comfortable and all rooms have a fresh coffee machines with fresh milk in the fridge. You really don't want to leave. Downstairs the pub is delightful. Wonderful food with attentive staff and a real ale selection to more than tick the box of 'proper pub'! We particularly liked the hot bar snacks such as the chicken wings and Mozzarella sticks. It was also clear these guys had really gone the extra mile to set people at ease over COVID restrictions. The location is also superb with a wonderful view out over the fields which are perfect for a Sunday walk. Quite simply, AMAZING!"
"Stayed here for three nights , lovely rooms, light and airy and very clean. The restaurant was a delight we had a DB&B deal, good choice of dishes and all well cooked and presented, by the chef . What makes it stand out is the staff, all very friendly and attentive, nothing to much trouble. The team is a credit to the owners , who obviously know how to keep customers and staff happy. In a good position for exploring the Peak District National Park/Chatsworth etc Would highly recommend."
"Thank you for making our stay a very pleasant and welcoming one. We were greeted at the bar on our arrival and take to our beautiful room. The decor throughout is tastefully done. We stayed for breakfast and evening meal, the food is faultless. I can not recommend this place enough. A shout out to the amazing staff and especially Norma who was lovely at breakfast and although run off her feet did a brilliant job!! THANK YOU."

"The graduation ceremony was decided. The location of the hotel is actually very good. It is next to the winter garden. There are many delicious restaurants near the hotel, such as smoke bbq, cosmo and so on. Far, but fortunately not far from tram station can take a car. The room in this hotel is really big, but the facilities are really kneeling. What is the big problem in strength acting? Do not make small problems constantly. At first, the heating of the room was not hot and I changed a room. When people come to repair, the sink sinks water is also very slow, the lighting in the room is a bit dark, and the heating is generally not very hot. Overall it's ok, the price is a little bit low, but the hotels in Sheffield are not many in general, it's ok"
"It is a modern hotel in the UK. The hotel is in a good location. The city center is 10 minutes walk from the train station. The room space is big in the UK. It is very bright, the toilet lid is broken, the bed is wet, and it doesn't sleep. Great comfort, the pillows are too soft, the hotel pool is good, the overall feeling is OK"
"Breakfast is satisfactory, English breakfast here is rich, long time and good service. The location is excellent, the scenery is beautiful and quiet, the place to go is convenient, the rooms are large and very clean"

"We we’re warmly greeted by Mel, even though we were early for check in. We had a few leisurely drinks in the bar and had a lovely chat with Mel about our love of golden retrievers. We went to our room late afternoon and what a lovely room it was too! Spotlessly clean and spacious, water and fresh milk in the fridge, and a bathroom big enough to get lost in. In the evening we ate in the restaurant and had a lovely chat with Paul before an absolutely gorgeous meal. Breakfast the next day was amazing, beautifully cooked and nothing was too much trouble for the staff members. We will definitely be back to stay in this 5 star (in our opinion), fabulous hotel."
"I booked on the back of good reviews for celebration night away for my fiance and I and have to say we were not let down at all. The room was amazing. The view was beautiful. I asked if we could have a little fruit platter and choc strawbs for Mike and Mel sorted that and it was lovely. Our breakfast was gorgeous. The covid precautions were spot on. Everything was clean and sanitised. Honestly cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. We will be back. Xx "
"Wow! I can’t remember staying anywhere better to be honest! Warm, friendly owners, cosy log fires in the bar and wonderful evening meal. The bedroom was simply superb! Loads of space for an insomniac like me to go and sit on the sofa with a book and have a cup of tea without disturbing my husband. A bottle of milk in the fridge was a lovely touch. Breakfast was delicious too. Can’t fault this place at all. Top marks and we will be back! "

"The English breakfast is great, but you need to add extra money. Can you not have an extra bed? The interior of the building is a small square with some musical performances, as well as bars and restaurants. Opposite is a commercial plaza, but the location is still very close to the city center, and the church is also very close."
"The location is excellent, and the old hotel is full of charm. We were arranged on the top floor with a palm-sized skylight, but I saw that the price we gave was not low. It's a pity that those steps are very hard to move boxes and no one helps. The younger brother is only responsible for Meimei."
"Good things must be shared, although foreign hotels are not very luxurious and very relaxed, winning the service, sanitation, and environment in this hotel are very good, you will definitely choose to get off the bus."

"European hotels can't be compared with domestic ones. Four-star facilities are barely similar to domestic Samsung. Breakfast is ok, but it is exactly the same every day. Note that there are no toothbrush and slippers. If you ask the hotel, slippers will be charged. A pair of 5 pounds, the quality is quite poor, similar to the kind prepared by our express hotel. For specific evaluation, please refer to my previous evaluation."
"Location is about five minutes walk from the station. There is a supermarket nearby, and it is not far from the high street in the city center, which can be reached in about five minutes. The front desk service was kind and prompt. The rooms are large, clean, quiet and the beds are comfortable. The hotel has a plunge pool. Will consider staying next time."
"Excellent - very hard to fault. Clean room, friendly reception, good breakfast and supper in the pub, plus free steam bath and swimming pool + gym. The hotel is centrally located, about 400 yards uphill from the main rail station. This was a leisure trip and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Strongly recommended."

"We booked this hotel last minute over half term and decided to visit a few places in the area. This hotel is hidden away just over 10 minutes from Chesterfield and the first thing you’ll notice after checking in is the unrivalled views from the bedrooms, a lovely escape from city hotels we would usually stay in. The reception and checking in experience was great, a friendly team and useful information given. There is some building work on site which has been mentioned by other reviewers but don’t let it put you off, we didn’t hear anything through our stay. The room itself was particularly large for a standard double, good size wall mounted flatscreen TV, the largest bed we’ve ever had in a hotel (Emperor, around 2m in width) and as already mentioned, great views over the hotel grounds and surrounding peaks. We were disappointed with the bathroom on two counts; the bath, which was lovely, took just over 35 minutes to fill, not what you want when trying to relax and unwind, this needs looking into, either the water pressure or the taps themselves, and secondly the shower, goes all over the whole bathroom floor when attempting any kind of shower, it’s completely open to the rest of the room. Bluetooth mirror was a nice touch. We had breakfast the next morning in the Red Lion which is the hotels restaurant and this was excellent. Service was fast, hot pastries, well presented restaurant quality food all around - absolutely no complaints here. We will definitely be back here, and whilst there was nothing wrong with our room overall, we would choose a different one, perhaps a suite next time - they look beautiful. One tip for upcoming travellers - check prices around. On each of the nights we looked into, not once was the hotel website the best price, the third party sites undercut by in excess of £10 every time we looked."
"We booked in for one night but liked it so much we booked an extra night - we arrived in Chesterfield by train so didn't have a vehicle but it was easy to get a cab to and from the station, and into Chesterfield to look round (lovely outdoor market and good bar at the Bottle & Thyme). This hotel is gorgeous - wonderfully decorated in every nook and cranny, so even though the decor is varied it all ties in together and creates a lovely harmonious space. We ate in the hotel both nights and had great food each time. One night was very busy so the wait was a bit longer, but the staff explained and apologised and didn't leave us wondering - and we were happy enjoying the surroundings and some lovely wine. When we went in the bar the barman knew about the drinks and even managed to track down something we wanted which wasn't behind the bar. The room was very comfortable and had everything we needed - great bed, fresh towels and bathroom supplies, tea/coffee/biscuits/bottled water. The room - and every area of the hotel we saw - was spotlessly clean. The staff were, without exception, very responsive and efficient - I can't recommend the hotel highly enough. We'll definitely be back when we can spend longer there."
"Ive just returned from my second stay at Peak Edge. It felt like home returning to the Hotel:) From entering and seeing & (hearing :) the excellent reception team. The food in restaurant is wonderful (my three guests over two nights dinner loved it ! ). The service from Jamie the two Toms, Adam and the new lady who started on my second day were all perfect. “Nothing” during my stay was a problem even thou my sister says “i” am a problem most of the time. The lovely Bri helped me pack my suitcase and helped me load my car up to leave. Im going back !!!"
