Calle Madrid 2, Torrejon De Ardoz, Community Of Madrid, Spain
"The good: unique hotel, in the museum, antiquated settings and furniture, 10 minutes walk to the train station - to get to Madrid takes 30 minutes. The bad: poor neighborhood, bad restaurants, stinky smell in the rooms, feels unclean. Cold overpriced breakfast - for 10 euro you can do much better, none (except for single woman) speaks any English - not sure why it was allowed to be advertised in USA? It is 20 minutes by car from airport - somehow they list it as "airport hotel"??? No elevators with multiple flights of stairs to climb. The ugly: if you are over 5'4" you WILL break your forehead or crack your scull - the ceiling beams separating living area from bathroom are very low in ALL rooms, it is an attic of the building. I have pictures of my girlfriend who is 5'7" next to these beams - they are half into her head. I DID hit my head and heaving headaches and vomiting - going to get xray tomorrow. Also - there is none in the hotel on Sundays from 6pm to 10pm so you can not check in and they will lie to you that attendant went home due to "family emergency". And that situation exists for quite a while now and they do nothing to fix it except for sending replies that they have "fine print somewhere about it". Not only will they never get my return business - I would advise every normal person to stay away. Booking com website and personnel are absolutely no help and unreachable - will never use again."
"Check in can be either at the Tavernas or in the reception. The whole hotel is like a museum... Rooms are very old fashioned, and clean even though the carpets are worn. You hardly ever see any staff ... breakfast appears in the small dining room, all cold but it’s ok... as normal in Spain the healthy option is limited. It’s very old, but I like it ... original "
"After I had already booked, this hotel canceled our reservation and sent me an email telling me they had found another place for us—at a much higher price. (It turned out that there was a big soccer match in Madrid, and so every hotel was charging high prices.) It all turned out ok at the other place, but needless to say we were not happy at all."
