5 route de la Corniche, Rolleboise, Ile-De-France, France
"Stayed in the top floor suite (in the chateau), which had its own private access. Also a fantastic view of the Seine, with a panoramic terrace. That being said, the terrace could have done with some seating to make the most of it. The room itself was a mixed bag: while spacious and enjoying a lot of natural light/views, the floors creaked and the sound insulation was not satisfactory. Members of my family stayed in a regular room in the chateau, and this room was mediocre. Dirty carpet, creaky floors, lousy sound insulation, and an AC unit that was too far away to effectively cool the room. It wasn't viable to open the windows because there were a lot of mosquitoes in the area. Dining was satisfactory; tasty food, especially breakfast, but room service made mistakes. There is no denying that the hotel has a lot of character and history, and is set in a beautiful area with clean air and fantastic views. The staff are also very friendly and supportive. However, there are more negatives than should be. I may consider it again, but not sure."
"We did a short weekend stay at Domaine de la Corniche and had a great time! The view is fantastic and they make the most of it with a sunroom in the bar and huge windows in the restaurant. The staff are very professional and willing to help at every step. In particular, Gildas, the bartender at Bar Leopold, was exceptional making us custom cocktails so don't forget to pay him a visit! It's small details like Gildas' service and cocktails that transform the entire experience and why I give it 5 stars."
"We had a great experience in this restaurant with an amazing degustation menu. Everything was delicious with a beautiful presentation. We do recommend this restaurant and hope to come back. Beautiful view too"

"Hotel location is convenient, breakfast is good. The room was comfortable but small and the bathroom and shower were separate. Although the room is facing the street, it is still quiet. My daughter likes it very much."

Chemin du Halage de la Gare- Bord de Seine - Le Goulet, Saint-Pierre-la-Garenne, Normandie, France
"Stayed one night booked via hotels dot com as it was relatively near Monet’s garden which we were off to visit. The hotel is sandwiched between the railway line and the Seine in a spot which would be idyllic if it were not for the regular trains passing immediately behind the hotel – some very noisy. It’s a bit of a surprise at first but you soon get used to it. The hotel is accessed via a manned level crossing which only appears to be manned from 6:30am to 10:30pm (from memory). The default position of the gate is down (i.e. closed to traffic) so, if you are planning on doing anything outside of those hours you may want to check whether you can get in/out. I assume that there is 24 hr pedestrian access somewhere. Our room was fairly plain, simple but adequate and clean with a decent shower. The bed was fine and, to be fair, we were not disturbed by the trains at all in the night. There is a pleasant veranda which doubles as the restaurant (reviewed separately) on which one can view the Seine and have a pleasant drink – wincing at the occasional extra loud train. I read somewhere that the line is electrified which reduces the noise – maybe the extra loud ones are the older non-electric trains. In respect of the restaurant, there is nothing else nearby and it’s worth booking when you check-in as it got quite busy with, what looked like, a fair number of locals turning up. This is not a luxurious hotel but it is perfectly adequate, it’s clean and perfectly comfortable in a basic way. We thought it represented decent value for the £75 (continental breakfast incl) we paid for it when compared with other hotels we stayed in and the cost of hotels nearer the gardens. Would we stay there again? Certainly."
"My son and I stayed here before our trip to Giverny to see Monets gardens. We checked in at around 6 pm. You will need to call ahead as there is not a dedicated reception desk. The rooms are old. We had a junior suite, room 17 which overlooked the lake and restaurant with terrace. The smell of the food being cooked over the wood grill was sensational! We had dinner at the restaurant, I had grilled pork and my son had fish of the day which was sea bass. Food was excellent and very fresh. There was a small issue with our housekeeping and it was taken care of by the owner, Fabrice. If you have allergies, be careful. The property is near water and quite a few trees. There aren’t elevators, however the room was very spacious. We stayed for lunch the next day and shared the prime rib. One kilo of meat for $55.00 Euro. Make sure you are hungry. "
"The hotel is on the bank of the Seine. A great place to stay but can be difficult to find. It is approached by a level crossing or under a narrow tunnel. Don’t be put off by that or the trains. Fabulous views and situation. Able to have a long walk along the river bank. A very popular place especially the dining room. Staff are friendly and helpful and the food is excellent. We had the largest bedroom which was simply furnished. The only thing which let it down was the daily cleaning which was very perfunctory- no vacuuming, window sills had dead flies, no clean cups on tea tray etc. This needs to be improved especially if like us you are staying more than a couple of nights. Even has its own man made beach!"

2 Rue Des Acacias, Saint-Marcel, Normandie, France
"This is one of the best independent family run hotels we have stayed in for a long time. The pink and very dark blue colour scheme is a little off putting when viewing via the web, but, when you arrive it does give it that boutique feel to the place. As commented by others, the rooms are not the biggest, but for us and the money we paid, they were more than adequate for a 2 night stay to see Monet’s gaff. Nothing is too much trouble for the owners and as guests we were made to feel very welcome indeed. The standard of the restaurant is very good. Not Michelin, but certainly going in the right direction. There is a downside to staying here, you need a car or some form of transport to get you there and about, and secondly, the restaurant is closed to the public on Sunday evenings (apart from private parties) which most visitors to France will know is common. Apart from that, a very affordable abode which we would gladly stay at again and we would recommend. As it has been said many times before, you get what you pay for, but, the Baryton does prove to be very good value. "
"I stayed here on my first night on a long adventure to Lisbon by motorcycle. As before, the rooms are clean comfortable and tranquil. Unfortunately as it was Sunday the excellent restaurant was closed - but there are plenty of others in the vicinity. The hotel is very convenient if you want to explore the gardens at Givernay and the locale is very pleasant - especially around Vernon. Excellent buffet breakfast. Great value! "
"We stayed overnight on or way to Giverny, nice hotel ,good room , quite and very clean.Had a very good dinner in the evening and the sat on the terrace to watch the sun go down. Perfect. What more could you want."

21 Rue du Docteur Duval, La Roche-Guyon, Ile-De-France, France
"The restaurant has a reasonable price for a 3 course menu but the food is bland, the wine prices are reasonable too but the place is really crowded, the tables are too close together, it gets hot and the staff is running around with no time for anything other than putting your plate in front of you and some of them including the manager can be really rude as someone else has already mentioned. The phone is ringing non-stop with people wanting to make reservations and I got the impression it was just a money making machine with no time to really look after its customers. I didn't feel like I was welcomed at all and they were even rude when I checked out. I didn't enjoy my stay there and I will definitely never go back. The hotel, which is the only one in the village, overlooks the Seine and has a large car park in front of it. I thought I could have a nice walk by the river but there wasn't really anywhere to walk. The rooms are in dire need of renovation. The mattress on the bed was saggy and the pillows were lumpy. There was only one plug in the room under the TV at the other end of the small room from the bed and when I moved the bed I saw lots of dirt underneath it. To close the curtains you have to stand on a chair to pull the round curtain rings along the square curtain rail. There is non-stop noise all day with motorbikes pulling up all the time and groups sitting on the terrace making lots of noise so forget about having a siesta. Concerning the village itself, it's nothing to write home about, beats me how it got onto the list of the prettiest villages in France, that's definitely not the case. The castle is almost completely empty and there's nothing of interest in it. You can climb up the very steep steps to get a view of the Seine and the kitchen garden which you can also have a walk in. There's nothing in the village itself. There's a very good creperie but you have to queue up for ages to get a table and there's a small bar across the road which serves food too. If you don't get to the bakery early enough in the morning there's nothing left."
"Second time the four of us have eaten here. It was recommended to us by the owner of our favourite hotel in Normandy, and we have not been disappointed. Airy restaurant in a lovely location, good food and friendly service."
"Nice smaller Hotel on the Seine River. When I lead tour groups to see Monets Gardens and then La Roche-Guyon Castle (Rommels Headquaters) we'll usually overnight there on our way to the Normandy Battlefields. All of our clients have been very happy staying there. Nice Restaurant also"

Route Nationale 13, Chaufour-les-Bonnieres, Ile-De-France, France
"I booked this hotel online because it was close to Monet's Garden which I knew would be our last stop of the day. The location is out in the country which you would think would be quiet, but it is just off a heavily traveled intersection. We were so tired, it didn't really bother us. There is plenty of space to park. The gentleman at check in was very nice. There is a nice restaurant downstairs. Breakfast is not included in the room rate. We had two triple rooms for the six of us. The rooms were clean and comfortable if somewhat small. The bathroom was nice and the toilet was in a separate little room. There was a work space in the room so we could use our computer and charge our phones. I would recommend this hotel for a short stay."
"I agree it is clean, some of the room equipment outdated but functional.Rooms very small. We booked this hotel well in advance and asked for gluten free meals. They failed to provide gluten free bread although they had ample time. When we pointed out this fact the man on duty simply replied that we can go stay somewhere else. And probably end being charged for no show."

"I was very happy that I chose to stay at the Kyriad in Saint Marcel for my business trip to the area. The hotel is well above average among discount hotels and I believe it is a good value. The room was comfortable and the wi-fi performed flawlessly throughout the hotel. Breakfast was great and the large garden was a great place to spend time when I was not working. Oh, and the Kyriad is a very dog-friendly hotel. The only down side was the selection of programming on the television in the room. Several of the channels on the menu were not available. Since the internet connection is so good from the rooms, though, it can very easily be used to access video content. I plan to be in the area again in a couple of weeks and will surely book a room at the Kyriad for that trip, as well."
"Was here for only a night. Check in was quick, room was decently clean, with some dust here and there. Nice coffee and tea facilities and a bottle of water provided (very rare in 3* hotels in France). Some newspapers provided but 3 days old... I had only 2 problems in this room that led me to a sleepless night. First, it was near the reception so I could hear the receptionist speaking to the clients doing checkout in the morning. Second, the room has no blinds so in the night the exterior lights lighted up the room and as soon as it was day, the light invaded the room despite the curtains, that were obviously not enough to block out the light. So I ended up sleeping 2 or 3 hours, it was very hot that day and there's no AC. Something to take into account when coming here."
"This hotel served its purpose. it was cheap, clean and great to stay in for a night. The checkin person was very pleasant and helpful. Their breakfast room was quite nice with a courtyard that you could sit out in. Just be mindful that the rooms are very small. we loved it that we got a twin instead of the double because the twins were comfortable rather than a smaller than usual double bed...by American standards. We got this because we arrived early, were exhausted from the flight and just wanted to rest. they were very accommodating."

Route De La Chapelle Réanville, Saint-Marcel, Normandie, France
"Stayed here as part of an organised trip and was underwhelmed by the hotel and the whole experience. The hotel is uninspirational and lacks character. The room itself was fine - large and clean but really, really hot, which made sleeping hard. The restaurant staff didn't have great command of English and didn't understand the concept of vegetarianism. A friend asked for a vegetarian meal and was then offered fish, before being offered a salad. Breakfast was better with a quite extensive selection. Staff did seem friendly. But overall, nothing special, but nothing bad."
"I truly appreciated the calm environment with pool table ... nice room and spacious dining area with very good priducts ... I enjoyed eating outside with fresh air ... very pleasant professional staff - if i return to area i would go back to this hotel - establishment is in a secured fenced in area - didn't have time to go to waterfront but am sure that it was nice. ... enjoyed"
"The room we're very clean , the beds we're very comfortable and the barman was very nice and helpful. The food at the restaurant was the only thing that was a let down. However overall , it was nice and the vue/environment were nice. "

25/27 Rue Grande, Le Petit Andelys, Les Andelys, Normandie, France
"My wife and I stayed at La Chaîne d’Or for a single night in early October. We were cheerfully welcomed and shown to our room. What a beautiful sight looking out over the river Seine. So relaxing to see the passing barges and hear the ducks quacking. Many of the rooms are decorated based on artists and historical figures. Ours was green and pink impressionist. Wonderful decorations. There is a fine restaurant but being not too hungry after 2 weeks in France, we only ate tasty salads, cheese plates and wine. Breakfast was plentiful in the delightful breakfast room. The entire hotel and restaurant is a historical building located in the old part of the town. Magnificent old building well maintained. Beautiful old church across the street. Gated parking in the courtyard. Nice walk along the Seine outside our window. Reasonably priced. Monsieur and Madame Bicot have created a masterpiece. Highly recommended. "
"This hotel is located in a fairly large town but it is tucked away in the old historic part of the town. The name of the hotel translates to "chain of gold". The house was built in 1751 and it was used to collect tolls from boats as they passed on the River Seine. The toll generated so much money that it became known as the golden chain. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The front desk staff were friendly, helpful and professional. They spoke English very well. Its location is right on the Seine. We could sit in hotel and watch the river traffic go by frequently. It also provides free parking on the property. I can recommend this hotel very highly."
"Charming hotel set on the banks of the Seine. Our room over looked the river which was busy with barges and river cruisers but not noisy. The hotel interior depending on your view can be described as lovely, quaint or tacky. We enjoyed our stay but there were issues. Large room. Bed made up with sheets and blankets, no quilt. Toilet separate from bathroom. The bathroom had a strange and slightly unpleasant smell, probably due to the window not being opened. To open the window you have to climb into the bath or around the bath surround. You have to do this to turn the taps on. Could be an issue if you are not very agile, and slippery / dangerous when wet. See photos. Difficult to close the curtains as others have found as the lining was torn. Fix the tops together and have tie-- backs would solve the problem. The restaurant over looked the river and the food and staff were excellent. Breakfast was good too."
