"My fiancé and I stayed at Perry Lane. We were let down. The hotel itself is surprisingly basic — the reviews here and elsewhere (aided by clever social media and photography) left us with high expectations, but if you’re anticipating anything more than a city Marriott, dial them back. Apart from being really small (not even a desk area, no view), the room we were assigned (a purported “upgrade” through Skylark) was standard issue in every way. While this property grasps desperately at instagrammable trendiness, our overall impression was that it cuts corners wherever and whenever possible. The small touches Perry Lane pitches as “perks,” like the free glass of sparkling wine, are more than made up for by the considerable daily “resort” fee you’ll pay (I don't understand resort fees). Do the math yourself, but spoiler alert: even if you’re down to drink an obscene amount of bad wine, you’re not coming close to breaking even here. Another small example of the general cheapness: bathroom toiletries are full size and topped off between stays. Sanitation concerns aside, the way they do it is gross – in our shower, for example, the plastic bottles were visibly crinkled where the room’s previous occupants had squeezed them (I guess trying to get their money’s worth?), and, just so you don’t get any ideas, there are prominently displayed signs warning that you’ll be charged if you take them home. Note to prospective guests: “luxury” hotels do not do these things. A note on COVID precautions. And this is tough to write, because we are living in a unique time, and people have different comfort thresholds. We probably fall somewhere in the middle on the caution spectrum – on the one hand, we have traveled regularly during the pandemic and have stayed at hotels all over, but we also mask up, sanitize, distance, etc., and take these things seriously. If that describes you too, or if you are on the more skittish side, DO NOT STAY HERE. Full stop. Management will tell you, as they told us, that they comport with the letter of the law and local guidelines. I won’t say this is a lie. But (let me be charitable) it is a stretch. And they are certainly not going above and beyond what the law requires, which was frankly surprising for Marriott, a pretty risk-averse company. On the weekend we stayed, and as a second wave of COVID infections crested nationwide, the hotel hosted a large, mostly indoor wedding (indoor dance floor, indoor seating and cocktail areas, some outdoor patios) in their rooftop event space. I guess they intuited that this might rub some of their paying guests the wrong way, as there was a fair amount of secrecy around it – in fact, we later learned that vendors had been asked to sign NDAs preventing them from discussing or publicizing the event. (Not sure whether this was the hotel’s doing or the happy couple’s – I asked a manager, and he said he didn’t know.) There was no notice of the event given to other guests,"
"We carefully planned a weekend getaway. Mindful of COVID we were very particular about where we would stay. The Perry Lane Hotel - Savannah exceeded our expectations. Cleanliness and COVID precautions were consistent and excellent. Room was amazing - new decor, spacious and comfortable. Best bed - such a great sleep. Venue offers relaxation at the Rooftop pool and several excellent dining options. Emporium - best grits and pimento cheese omelet, Peregrin - tacos were delicious and what a view from the rooftop, Wayward - Libations prepared by Nick were great. Bakery on premise offers even more opportunity to indulge. We ordered our Thanksgiving pies. Staff was exceedingly courteous and attentive. Every meal and beverage delicious. Hats off to the management team Dhruv Khanna and staff Jewel, William, Nick and so many others. We were at a Ritz Carlton the week before and this was so much better. We will return. Ohhhh - Savannah was a great town to visit too!"
"The Perry Lane Hotel is true luxury in Savannah. First visit to Savannah and first stay at Perry Lane. Beautiful property and excellent service. Rooftop Peregrin bar had wonderful views and good cocktails. The Wayward bar was wonderful. Shout out to Nik and Jason - they know their cocktails. Also fun with mini arcade inside. Room very comfortable and well appointed - big bathroom. As Platinum member took breakfast option - well worth it. Tastey food at The Emporium. Will recommend this property and will visit again!"

"My husband and myself visit Savannah very frequently. Usually we stay at The Mansion at Forsyth or Marriot on the River. But my favorite is the Mansion. This year we decided we wanted to stay on the water, but also have the luxury of the Mansion. The Bohemian and the Mansion are both Kessler properties, so we decided to stay at the Bohemian so we could get both a wonderful view never the river and the luxury we wanted. It was a great choose. We had a room with a balcony and view of the river and river street, great for some people watching! Their is a lounge on the roof, where you can eat and get a cocktail. We have also stayed at The Bohemian in Charleston and loved it also! The Kessler properties have never disappointed us! "
"My wife and I stayed at this wonderful hotel for two nights. From the valet and bell service (Cedric) to the front desk staff to the bartender at Rocks on the Roof - very cool place - service was top notch. Our room was clean and beautiful with a great view of the river. Perfect location to experience all of the downtown area within walking distance of everything. Pet friendly and our little dog was well received and properly pampered. Rocks on the river serves a perfect charcuterie tray and they have top shelf premium liquors as well. Yes they play music at the roof top bar but it ends at 12:00AM so make sure to get up there and enjoy."
"We stayed at the Bohemian Hotel Sept 18 and 19. The rooms were great! Location was great! The food and drinks were great! And then THE PROBLEM. My truck was involved in an accident while being driven by the valet. We drove by on the trolley and saw the side crushed. As you see I still gave this hotel the highest marks. Its because after all was said and done, Parking management (a sub-contractor) and Benjamin (The Bohemian Hotel manager) handled the incident professionally and to my satisfaction. That is why they call it an accident. This is how business should be conducted and this is the hotel where you should stay."

"I was in town for a girls weekend and while we stayed somewhere else, we just had to come see what everyone was talking about. During our visit we met Dontrez, who let me just say, provided the most unbelievable service! It made us almost cancel our reservation where we were staying to stay with you guys - 5 star service! He provided us a map and daily schedule and even highlighted everything that we could do on the map. He also asked his lead security officer, Steve, to take us on a tour of the property! Now that’s going above and beyond! I have have to say I currently work for a competing brand in central Florida and Dontrez is what we look for when we hire our front office staff. He’s charismatic, he’s friendly and makes you feel as if you’re the most important person in the world. We decided right then and there we were booking for our New Year’s trip and we cannot wait to come."
"Really that cool. Clean, comfortable rooms, which of course you can get at a lot of hotels in downtown Savannah. But the whole complex, the lobby, and the service is absolutely outstanding. It’s just a great place to go, park your car, and then just walk around for a day or two and relax. Everything is in walking distance, the staff is so incredibly helpful anytime you need anything, and the view is spectacular. You don’t need to eat in one of the restaurants on the site if you don’t want to. But the chophouse is very, very good. Sure, it’s on the pricier side, but in my opinion well worth it. We had a five-star experience."
"Savannah Plant Riverside District is an amazing experience. Fine & fun dining, rooftop lounging, shopping and strolling along the Savannah River are some of the key attractions. Executive Chef Shahin’s leadership and vision has made the experience one of a kind! The hotel’s art and artifacts are breathtaking."

"My wife and I don't get the opportunity to take trips without kids very often, so we thought we would splurge a little on a nicer hotel. Looking back, we wished we had stayed elsewhere and would not stay at the Alida again. It's a very nice-looking hotel. However, the conditions of the hotel were awful. We arrived to the hotel around 7 pm on a Friday. We were met by the valets, who were quite busy but very nice, and headed inside after dropping off our vehicle with them. Inside, we learned that our room was not ready for us. Apparently, nobody's room was ready for them when they checked in as we heard other guests being told by the front desk throughout the weekend. As compensation, we received a drink voucher for the rooftop bar and were advised we could leave our bags with the valet if we wanted, which we did. We went up to the rooftop bar, grabbed a couple drinks, and waited for the phone call or message to inform us that our room was ready. After an hour, we hadn't heard anything and checked downstairs with the front desk. The front desk informed us our room was ready, but I do not know why we weren't notified. Apparently it had been ready for 10-15 minutes. We returned to the valet umbrella to grab our bags. However, a new valet had just gone through shift change and had no idea where our bags were. Not only that, he appeared to be the only valet now working and had inherited quite the workload, which was lined up in front of the hotel. After he conducted a quick search for our bags, which yielded no results, he returned to his post. After a strange standoff with the valet, I returned inside and asked the front desk for support. They quickly returned with my bags and my wife and I headed in for the night. Looking forward to our first opportunity to sleep in, we were surprised to be awoken at 6 am by the nightstand alarm clock. We certainly did not set the alarm. I can only presume that the alarm was already set or flipped on in my attempts to dim the very bright screen the night prior. Next, while attempting to take a shower, my wife discovered that there was no hot water. She also noticed that the bathroom wasn't very clean, with hair on the shower wall and bathroom floor from previous guests. It turns out that the whole hotel was experiencing issues with hot water as I observed numerous notices slid into people's door, which we also received, informing guests of the hot water outage. Not long after that, I heard maintenance drilling and working in the room directly above mine (I was in Room 302) at approximately 8:30 am. So if we weren't already awake from the alarm clock and cold shower, we were certainly not going back to bed with the added noise. The rest of the weekend proceeded uneventfully. The hot water was still out when we checked out on Sunday. I would like to add that the staff was exceptionally nice and professional. One of the valets, I believe his name was Cedric, was the first person and the last per"
"We had a lovely weekend stay at the Alida. Front desk attendant DeMinka was friendly and attentive. While this was my forth stay it was hubby’s first and DeMinka took time to explain all the amenities to him and remembered us every time we passed the desk. Amy our room attendant made sure we had lots of towels etc for our stay and was also super friendly as was the valet staff. The breakfast at Rhett was amazing and again great staff experience. So 5 stars for the employees of the Alida. Our only quibble regarding the hotel, is the lack of suitcase trays. We had to use our window seat for our luggage. Not sure why The Alida doesn’t have a place to put your luggage that’s off the floor? The Emeline, their sister hotel, has them but not the Alida? Past stays I was in suites so I put my bag on a chair. "
"Let’s start off by saying the property is BEAUTIFUL! I love the smell it’s amazing. Secondly I had a wonderful check in experience with Quincey he was so nice and very helpful!! He made my stay better even though I had to suffer 2 days without hot water. I would definitely come back to stay at the hotel because of Quincey and hopefully next time I will have hot water."

"We had the pleasure of staying at the new Aloft in downtown historic Savannah for our honeymoon weekend. First off, the staff is wonderful! Very helpful, professional, and friendly. We really enjoyed meeting Brittany who was stellar. Chris, the GM, is doing an excellent job overseeing this new property as the rooms were exceptionally clean, the service was great, and everyone (guests and staff) seemed happy to be there. The room was great! Definitely up to Marriott standards. I love the design of the Aloft suites we’ve stayed in, and this was no different. Super comfy beds, love having a steamer vs an old school iron, and the open concept is perfect for couples. Another plus about this property—you can park on the floor in which you’re staying which makes checking in and out a breeze. We felt also felt very safe with the sanitation protocols in place. Honestly, the location of the hotel made it surprisingly quiet during the night hours which is always a pleasant surprise in a busy city. It’s in super close distance to everything you’ll want to do in Savannah while not being in the thick of it. (Tip: if you’re doing the trolley ride, the stop at the maritime museum make it super easy to get to and from your hotel throughout the day.) Overall, fantastic choice if you’re looking for a place in town. We definitely will be back. "
"I visit Savannah often for biz & pleasure. This is a new property so I decided to try it. I was driving so when I pulled up to the hotel there was no signage on where to check in or park. I pulled into the parking garage and still no signage. I parked in the first spot I could find and went to the lobby. I mentioned the lack of signage and was told the city had very strict rules on signs. I was also told there was signage outside. Both of these statements were total BS. I got to my room and it was very contemporary in design which I think is typical for Aloft. I've stayed in a couple of these. This room was rather small with very little counter space. There was less than half a roll of toilet tissue and no cups of any kind. There is also no carpeting which I think is going to be a new trend in hotels. There was no valet parking due to Covid I imagine but was never told that. I was charged for valet parking . The parking spaces were extremely small. By parking on the same level as your room it saves time getting to your room but no one told me this at check-in and there was no signage in the garage denoting this. I talked with several people wandering around in the garage with no clue were to go so I helped them out with directions. Bottom line as a relatively new hotel, the training has been sketchy at best and some signage would make things much easier for guests. I would not stay at this property again. There are way too many options within a few blocks with super service and comparable rates."
"After a long day of driving, it was so nice to pull up to the Aloft and be greeted by the friendly valet attendant. The front desk staff were super friendly and made me feel welcomed. I love how close this property is to all the sights in Savannah without commanding the higher prices of the hotels directly on the river. The room was spotless and provided a very comfy bed for me to recharge. The shower was enjoyable and the toiletries all were of nice quality. The pool in the basement was fun and a nice way to burn off calories from all the Southern food I ate. I will be sure to return here next time I am in Savannah!"

"The location is very good, all the attractions can be reached on foot, and the furthest to the fountain in Central Park is only 15 minutes. It's ten minutes to the river. Breakfast was good, the only thing was $ 30 for parking."
"Very convenient, high quality breakfast, centrally located, less than ten minutes by the river, parking is chargeable, and there is public parking nearby."

"The staff is fantastic. I was greeted by everyone several times a day. Everyone seemed to enjoy working there. The hotel is in a great location and has a roof top bar that has a great view. There is a heated pool on the roof too! The breakfast was perfect. And coffee was hot and fresh all day long. The rooms were clean and had everything you could need. We cooked an entire meal in the kitchen. There was a slight problem during our trip where our room was too close to the roof top bar and it was a bit noisy. (We are a family with young kids) I'm sure being this close to the bar would be great for some folks. I brought up the problem to the staff and it was immediately handled with kindness and professionalism. I was absolutely happy with their solution. We traveled during a tough time at the very beginning of this scare with coronavirus. I am sure the staff was just as wary as the rest of us but they continued to do their jobs with excellence. I was blown away by this experience and will absolutely look to stay here again!"
"John went and got our car. He was so pleasent and funny. It made our day. With all this happening he was a silver lining. Thank you John THe hotel was also very nice. Happy hour was great. Mona the receptionist was great. Her smiling face and great attitude made our stay even better. We will book with Homewood again!"
"Even though we came into town in the midst of a severe rainstorm, our room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was very good and the waitstaff was at the ready to take your empty plates. Bryce and John (Valet) were always very quick at bringing the car to the front door when we were in need to leave to explore."

"My wife and I spent two weekend nights at this property in the historic district. The property is in a great location and the facility modern and comfortable with appropriate amenities. Unfortunately, there are no "self parking" spaces and the valet fee exorbitant. Upon arrival there were two staff at the front desk -- one very friendly while one was cold and almost rude. A little while after checking in I received a text welcoming me and asking if everything was acceptable in our room. In my text response I reported that one wall-mounted night stand was not level and that the table in the room was similarly damaged and unusable, also the windows of our second floor window were filthy. While none of these situations is unbearable and my intention was for them to deal with them at an appropriate time, their response was, "Thank you...I will be sure to share this with our General Manager." I'm sure this was an auto reply. Very disappointing. All this to say that it is a great location, but be prepared to pay a lot for parking and to have to potentially deal with grumpy staff. Remember, try to get a room that faces AWAY from Bay Street."
"As a Hilton Gold member, I have stayed at a lot of Hilton Garden Inns. This one was one of the more beautiful ones in décor. It did a great job capturing a pleasant mix of historical charm and modern amenities. The service crew was kind, particularly the valet parking guys. My only complaint was breakfast. Compared to the standard, the service lacked. The yogurts were expired, the oatmeal was thick with age, and the guys making omelets were not offering to help as people were in line. Speaking of lines, the lay out was not very helpful to having more than a customer or two. Most breakfast areas are spread out enough to allow more than one person to access the food. It wasn't bad exactly, just not to the standard of other Hilton Garden Inn locations I've traveled to. "
"We three ladies, in our 60's, some who exercised more than others, could walk every where downtown without an issue. The market square was so close, as was the Riverfront stores, plenty of restaurants, and places of interest, like the Owen's-Thomas House, Zuni's-the sub shop...amazing sandwiches, by the way..We took the hop on hop off trolley to those places further away. You can pick up the trolley within a 5 minute walk. "

"Was nice hotel. But unnecessary things where shut down due to virus. Like parking garage. So parking was very slim. Also charged a deposit hold in card and was not informed of this. Staff could have been a little more helpful. But overall was a good location and nice hotel for price . "
