"I have emailed the restaurant who have not responded, similar experience to other customers who have commented here. We are local people and visited several times over the years. For our Christmas Day meal we did not get the aperitif despite asking. Seated at a noisy table between two groups – it was confrontational to move to a vacant quiet table. Water bottle taken away and had to ask twice to be replaced. Needed to ask for the wine list twice. None of the table candles or restaurant candles were lit for a special day meal - Sloppy. Cutlery not polished and dirty. Food had problems – the roll for the Saint Jacques was dry and not edible – all other guests also left it. The main course, Capon was tough, dry, hard to cut into and poorly presented. We also had to stand in a long confrontational queue to pay competing with other waiters who wanted to use the same till. It was like we were in a cafeteria not a Michelin star restaurant.... Before the Michelin star the waiting on staff were younger, students and friendly – a very enjoyable experience. However, the current waiters are older men, poor skills, not as friendly. We are feeling disappointed for our Christmas Day meal. We visited Christmas 2016 and had much better food and service. I hope management listen and return my email. The restaurant is not worthy of Michelin star at present – it used to be a much better experience. Needs to improve both food quality and especially the waiting staff, as service is very poor, badly organised and to be honest, not a pleasant dining experience. A real shame as this restaurant used to be wonderful."
"Lived in this hotel in September. This is the best hotel in this region - it is wonderfully located and unique 5star hotel here. There is a heated pool on the roof. The room has CARITA cosmetics. The atmosphere of Relais and Chateau is very felt. But the main impression of the weekend at this hotel was visit the chef's table in the kitchen. It was a unique experience! The chef himself cooked and crushed for us his own cooked dishes. The chef is the eminent star of the hotel - he has the star of Michelin. Christophe Schmitt you are the best."
"We were on probably the best suite of the hotel so I presume my review can be a bit biased, but the hotel deserves the "special" mention. It is placed on a island in the middle of the lagoon. It's almost a magic place. The hotel as such is nice and cosy, needing though some renewing for the wooden floors and so on. Really odd but special outdoor warm water pool on the top of the building. It had some traps though as the sinks cut my daughters foot finger skin. To be checked! Breakfast is great, michelin restaurant is too slow but very good in service and quality. Very recommendable all in all"

"This is the second time that we have stayed here and again we were not disappointed. Right from the welcome through to the departure it was a lovely stay. The rooms are nice and large with great beds.. Breakfast great.. Pool and gardens are all really nice. Spa is nice with good temperature water in the indoor/outdoor pool. We love this hotel, it is right on the beach with just a walkway separating. This walkway is great to stroll along in the evenings if you want to venture out to find something different. If you want to know something.. just ask, all of the staff are very helpful.. especially the Bar Tender. The Hotel is right at the far end of Canet-Plage.. and only 5km from St. Cyprien on a straight road. Many Thanks Can't wait to go back."
"My understanding of the expression "Grand Hotel" was seriously challenged when staying here. This hotel needs a serious overhaul because it has aged and not to its best. The carpet in our room was in a way that we did not dare walking around without the flippers. Discussing with other guests it looks like we were not the only ones finding the floor covering close to disgusting. The breakfast buffet was somewhat ok but far from what one expects from a Grand Hotel. In the country famous for its cheeses, they offered ONE which was sort of the type that is produced industrially in square-yard size and then cut into 3 to 6" pieces. As for the coffee machines you have to operate yourself: chose a normal coffee and then add an espresso otherwise you can't drink it. The sole dinner we had in their restaurant was on the other hand of very good quality. The location is good with direct access to the beach. Service is a bit spotty, some good, some bad, mostly average. There is no spirit of hospitality in that place, unfortunately. As to the Thallasso part: it's well conceived but a factory. On a usual Friday there were dozens of used bath towels spread all over incl. resting chairs and nobody collected them."
"Easy to find , nice place to stay , 1/2 pension mean free dinner and breakfast included with the room . Ultra large bed, tv,minibar , shower, separates toilet. The lobby is great plenty couches and armchairs, bar , piano "

"We found the hotel without difficulty. They contacted us in advance with the code for the car park barrier which was a helpful and thoughtful touch. We arrived early and asked if our room might be ready; we were told it was not which was understandable but we were disappointed that no call was made to housekeeping to check or to see if our room could be prioritised; on inquiring again, close to 3pm check-in time, such a call was made and confirmed that the room was not ready; we waited in reception but no-one told us that the room was ready and, ultimately, it was well after 3pm that we got our room. We saw guests waiting for check-in beyond 3pm the following day. The hotel decor is stylish and the room was attractively presented, clean and well-designed - compact but everything worked (except for one of the showers which leaked so we couldn't use it). The bathroom opens directly onto the bedroom but affords enough privacy (and the toilet is separate). There was a nice balcony with some super views including great sunsets. Housekeeping was a bit erratic - face towels one day, not the next; no tissues one day, so many the following day that the dispenser wouldn't close - but everything that really mattered was fine. Tea / coffee making facilities are provided but no mini-bar / fridge. The room was quiet (when kids weren't running up and down the corridor), the air conditioning worked fine, the bed was comfortable and we slept well. The pool area is nice and we always found sun loungers and were comfortable. Access to the pool is controlled by a fob; we were given one, attached to our room key; this was a bit inconvenient when we wanted to go to the pool at separate times. The hotel is located right next to a nice beach and is within an easy walk of a couple of restaurants and a mini market but not much more. We ate at the restaurant a couple of times. Despite a lot of apparent attention at the hotel to wellness, and dietary advice on the menu, there was only one gluten-free starter and one main, and the latter was a puff pastry vegetarian option. This was supplemented by a daily menu but that lacked dietary advice so we booked dinner not knowing our options. The waiting staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. It transpired that there was always a gluten-free option amongst the daily mains even if that meant foregoing a sauce. The quality of the food and wines were good. The situation next to the beach was lovely (although you cannot see the sea as the dunes block the view). Breakfast was fine but unremarkable and felt very frenetic so we only took it once. Overall, whilst we felt the hotel and restaurant could make improvements, we enjoyed our stay and would probably be happy to stay again."
"We have just returned from a 4-night break at Les Bulles de Mer apartments in St. Cyprien in the south of France and were pleased with the level of facilities in the apartments and adjoining hotel. What we did find lacking though was a toaster and oven which would have made life easier. We had an adjoining apartment with our son and his family which was good as we could pop into each other's accommodation and socialise while their daughter was in bed. The apartments had a beautiful view of the inland waterway and marina but , due to the extreme windy conditions, there was no movement of boats. All the locals were telling us that the wind would last 3 or 4 days but, unfortunately, this coincided with our stay. What also was missing was the beachfront bar/cafe/restaurant which was pictured on the web-site. There was one about half a mile away which we visited once but got sand-blasted! Our visit was badly timed as it was out of season. The local bus service did not start until July and the Aqua park did not open until June. There was no shop on the premises so when we needed supplies it was quite a trek to the nearest supermarket. There was a spa in the hotel but was quite expensive so we did not use it. The hotel pool was nice but, although heated, was fairly cold. We had it to ourselves most of the time and the good thing was that they did not enforce the "speedo" rule. Overall a pleasant stay but if we went back we would go later in the summer."
"We tried the Restaurant les Ganivelles for dinner during the Tous au Restaurants" promotion but cannot find it listed on TA. As it is the restaurant of Les Bulles de Mer, this seems the best place for my review. We were greeted by a charming lady who seated us by a window looking out onto the lagoon. The service was by a variety of staff. It was a bit strange with no plates for bread and having to ask for water but everyone was very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious with lovely flavours and presentation. The wine list was nice and a good price. Strangely, after asking, we paid our bill at the bar. I guess the restaurant is usually just for hotel guests. Although we did not see the bedrooms of the hotel, the public areas were beautifully decorated, the hotel was in a great location for the beach and the staff were all very friendly. If we didn't have our boat in the marina to sleep on, we would definitely like to stay at this lovely hotel."

"The first room we had was very tired - 1970s style in the main building and the ac didn't work. Got shown to a room in the new building which was much nicer but suffered from odd design issues - the shower wet room didn't drain properly and made the carpet wet in the main room (despite being only finished 4 months previously), handles to get out of bath were in the wrong place. Restaurant was old fashioned 1970s cuisine at Michelin star prices - there was no division between smoking and non smoking so it was very difficult not to constantly inhale people's cigarettes. Also beware of parking under the trees by the lobby as all the cars were carpeted with bird dirt the next morning - staff did not advise about this on check in."
"Situated between the city center and the Pyrenees, close to the Autoroute Barcelona-Montpellier and the route to long sandy beaches (at Argeles-sur-mer) this four star hotel with really great service and a large parking lot features a nice little spa and great restaurant. It's very suitable for a short stopover as well as (just as we did it) a basecamp to explore the Pyrenees, nearby cities (Narbonne, Carcassonne and of course Perpignan) plus the nice beaches of the Côte Vermeille with plenty of 19th century or even older fortresses at the Spanish-French border."
"Lovely clean hotel, nice pool, very comfortable beds and linen. Good value for money. We all slept very well as curtains good quality so the room was dark and there was no noise from other guests etc. we had interconnecting rooms and each room had a decent size balcony with table chairs. Kids enjoyed the large trampoline and the table tennis table. The restaurant by the pool looks really nice but we did find the service a bit slow, but nothing unusual for the area, the food was good though. We stayed for 3 nights and would recommend for a short stay. "

"Don't judge a hotel by the facade. From the outside,The Galion looks like a worn and shabby seaside town hotel (the facade is next on the owners' ongoing renewal project), but once inside the reception and morning restaurant area, everything is new, well thought out and in good taste. Le Galion is an unpretentious 'mom and pop' hotel two streets back from the seafront taken over by the present owners just over two years ago, and it has been a work in progress ever since (I'm inquisitive - so sue me). The common areas on the ground floor have been stripped to the core and rebuilt, half of the bathrooms in the rooms (ours was excellent regarding both aesthetics and space usage) have been completely renovated and all of the beds are new. So it's good, and it's only going to get better in the future. The swimming pool area is beautiful and well kept - it is also the location of the hotel's excellent evening restaurant and bar (subject to another 5-star review elsewhere). But these aren't the most important selling points. The service is - the hosts' attention to detail and their guests' needs and comfort are above and beyond. These people are building a hotel to be poud of and leaving nothing to chance from cleanliness over attentive hospitality to unintrusive friendliness. Finally, the breakfast buffét: fresh, high quality produce - excellent variation - good coffee... well, good everything, really. We might never return to Canet-en-Roussillon, but if we ever do it will probably only be to have another stayover at this little pearl. We absolutely reccomend!"
"My wife & I stayed here on Sunday night as we drove back to the UK from Spain. We had initially booked accommodation in Collioure but we were let down badly by the owners of Le Clos Saint Elme who refused us entry as we arrived after their 4pm check in time. This after we had driven some 500 miles through Spain to get there. Collioure was in lockdown because of the corona virus & we eventually found salvation at Le Galion late Sunday evening. We were made so welcome by the owners & enjoyed a lovely breakfast the following morning before they gave us some great advice as to where to take our Husky for his inoculations before returning to the UK. Outstanding service from this wonderful husband & wife team. We shall return when things get back to normal. Merci"
"Everything about this hotel was superb. We stayed for a week on half board and the evening meal was absolutely fantastic, as was the room, the cleanliness. The staff, from the front desk to the dining room were very helpful, polite and made our stay a lovely experience. My only minor gripe was there were no tea making facilities in the room."

"BW Canet-Plage hotel is situated in a really nice and quiet area close to the seaside. When arriving at the hotel it is easy to find a free parking spot on the main road just a short walk from the hotel reception. From Carcassonne airport it is an easy journey to the hotel (c80 mins drive). The check-in is very efficient and you got what you ordered. The room itself is very clean and very nicely made up including the bath and toilet. From the room you have a beautiful overview of the ocean (if you ordered a room with see view as you should). From the hotel it is about a 60 second walk to the Balearic sea for a nice and refreshing swim. All of the staff is very friendly and helpful. Over-all, we are very pleased with this year’s stay, our second at the BW Canet-Plage and we are already planning for next year."
"Great location and stylish boutique hotel. The staff were welcoming and really helpful. It is situated at the quieter end of the promenade so quiet peaceful. The rooms were very clean as were the communal areas. Individual reversible air conditioning was welcome. We had a room with a sea view which was lovely especially watching the bad weather roll in. As it was December we did not make use of the small balcony. We were a 10 minute walk away along the beach from the main square and any number of restaurants. I would have given a 5 but I had two small niggles: 1 no real makeup mirror - I find it awkward using the bathroom especially as there was nowhere to plug in my hair straighteners. 2 only two milk portions but 4 coffee portions. I know if I went and asked in reception I would have got more but it I was ensconced in my white fluffy bath robe. Would certainly recommend this lovely boutique hotel and will return."
"This hotel in Canet Plage is in an excellent location opposite the beach, we have a sea view room, which is an excellent view looking over the mini golf. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I have no doubts in recommending this hotel, the rooms are clean and modern just as pictured with flat screen tv and mini safe, excellent bed and pillows. Planning to return next year."

"An overnight stay, we were welcomed and although we could only speak minimal French, we got by, great location next to the beach, coffee shop round the corner. Room was well presented, has air con and ensuite. Little on the small side and the furniture is dark and makes the room look even smaller. Overall great stay and good breakfast available. Would stay again."
"We booked for 7 nights in July.myself and daughter and her two children.we booked a family room after seeing the pictures online.double bed and single beds.small kitchen fridge etc.we told them the children were aged 5 yrs and 1year.we were put in a room with i double bed and bunk beds.no kettle no fridge.we needed to keep the 1year olds milk cold as you can imagine the temperatures.we did one night.when I complained the next day I said we expected a fridge at least.the receptionist told me to take my car and go and buy one.we checked out that afternoon but had to pay the full amount.as disgusted as I was we were glad to leave for a better place.the better place was The Malibu village just up the coast.couldnt fault it.3plus swimming pools, large appartment and 1euro by bus to the beach or the little train that ran regularly.will be going back to Malabo village again.by the way the staff were great as well."

"A group of 5 of us stayed here from 13th-16th March. Emmanuel & the team at the hotel were all great, nothing was too much trouble, although the last 2 days were a bit strange due to all shops, bars & restaurants being told to close by the French government due to Coronavirus. The team did their best for us by lending us glasses, cutlery and even buckets of ice to chill our supermarket wine. They kept an eye on the situation for us regarding bus and train timetables making sure we could get to Carcassonne to get home."
"Very comfortable hotel. Located near the centre of Perpignan. Rooms were a reasonably size, clean, quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was provided and there was an excellent choice of hot and cold foods."
"Good location and friendly staff. It's a parking so close to the hotel if you are going by car. Good place in our way from Spain to the Netherlands. Breakfast at the room is a nice option. Same price that going downstairs"
