"Horrible, horrible, horrible!!! I made my reservation on September 30, 2019 for two rooms with one adult and three children in each room and requested joining rooms. When I called at 0930 the day of check-in to request early check-in, I inquired if it was noted I had requested joining rooms. The receptionist told me no but she would make a note of it on my reservation. She told me to call back at 1:30 to see if my rooms would be ready. When I called at 1:30 only one room was ready and again I questioned about joining rooms and she confirmed it was documented on my reservation. When I arrived at 3 PM October 19, 2019, I was told there were no joining rooms available. I was asked if I would care if one room had a king bed? I said absolutely not as long as they are joining rooms. Then she came back out and told me that there are no rooms available but she will get us rooms close to each other. We stayed in room 324 and 327 which were across the hall from each other. When we were getting ready to go to breakfast the next morning the wonderful and incredible housekeeper Serene who was there yet again with a smiling face asking how everything went with our birthday last night. As we were talking she went into the joining room of 324 which was 326-A king size bed room that joined into our room of 324. I asked her if that room had been vacant all night and she said yes I cleaned it yesterday it was not reserved last night. So I was lied to that there were no joining rooms available for me. I spent 30 minutes at the front Desk With the receptionist trying to figure out how to “accommodate me” as if it was my fault that they did not have joining rooms. When in fact the room right next-door to 324 was empty all night long. The housekeeper Serene was amazing, courteous, friendly and helpful. She offered us a large trash bag since we were having a birthday for my 11 year old daughter who did not get a birthday last year because of hurricane Michael. She even asked if room 319 that was having a birthday party as well was part of our party. Which it was not!!!!! Serene was fantastic!!!! Wonderful employee. When I called the local holiday inn to make my reservation I explained that we would be celebrating my daughter‘s 11th birthday there and asked if it was OK if we had her birthday there and then went down to the pool to swim. The lady with reservations told me that would be fine we could have the cake and gifts upstairs in the rooms and then come down to have a pool party. I was so happy because hotels on the beach will not allow anybody not staying in the hotel to even come up to the rooms. When I called on October 19, 2019 at 9:30 to inquire about early check in I again explained we will be having a birthday and I need joining rooms. After we finished with cake and gifts we went down to the pool one of the guests for our party did not arrive till after 5 PM. I told her mother that we are in the pool and she can just meet us in there and I will take her u"
"I cannot recommend this place. It wasn't all-out awful, but it left a lot to be desired. Pros: + Tammi at the front desk was great. She was on top of everything and was a great friendly face to see when I arrived at 1:30am instead of my original 11pm arrival. + The breakfast server (whose name I forget) made breakfast so worth it. + The bartender is friendly and helpful. + There's a pool with a spa. + The hotel was very clean. + The beds were super comfy. + Shower heads were modern and good quality + It's on a main road and easy to get to + It's newly renovated + Parking is free Cons: - Lack of hot water: Several people in my training also suffered the lack of hot water. They have so-called "green" hot water heaters that heat up and produce hot water on demand. They're not tankless, and it can take up to 10 minutes to get hot if you run the shower-- if it does get hot. (This seems to defeat the purpose of saving energy and water) Out of 4 attempted showers, I got hot water once (the bathroom steamed up), decently warm once (no steam), one pool-temperature, and one that never got beyond cold. I did complain to the front desk, and they sent someone, but it didn't fix the problem. There were lots of shrugs-- that is, it seems, just the way they are. - On my departure, I set two wake-up calls through the automated system. I confirmed them, and they had the correct time. Instead of calling a 3:00am and 3:05am, I was called in the 2am hour. Other info: ~ Breakfast is available. Buffet is $12, and it does not include a beverage (coffee is $3). Our server was amazing, however. I forget her name, but she was on top of everything. She even remembered who had coffee, decaf, and orange juice on Day 2 and had a carafe of decaf ready. She remembered how I liked my eggs, too. ~ Google Maps and Waze will occasionally try to have you drive in the back entrance. It is paved, but it is not really intended to be used. Similarly, the front entrance from MLK Blvd could be better marked (It's a divided lane setup, and it's hard to really see at night)"
"We rushed up after my sister passed away and needed a place to stay. We spoke with Chrisha and she held our hands through the entire booking, stay and checkout. She constantly checked on us to see if we needed anything. Check in was so smooth - thank you Anna for your wonderful customer service! The entire staff was so amazing that we almost forgot why we were there, it felt like a mini vacation. The breakfast was delicious - thank you Shanese for making sure we got our vouchers and following up afterwards to make sure it was delicious -- make sure you book it with the breakfast! - and the entire staff in the restaurant made sure we weren't in need of anything. It's a newly renovated property with the BEST pillows we have ever used. Thank you Chrisha and the entire staff for such a great stay during a difficult time. Can't wait to visit on better terms."
