"This was a brand new hotel that opened less than a week before our stay. First, the property is stunning, spread out, private, secluded and all of the things you want in this current time to escape and be in nature. Our tree house villa with ocean view was incredible. Every room is an individual structure and private. The design, furnishings, private pool, double shower, outdoor bathtub, bathroom amenities, cotton and linen bathrobes, I could go on. The team of people working at this hotel are so lovely, happy and willing to provide the ultimate service. It was great seeing the team coming together and evolving in the first week and five days we were there. Serge, the General Manager, was a delight - he was always around, checking in, listening and seeking to understand our experience at his new property. He was incredible to make our stay special! The food was delicious at all three restaurants. The breakfast options at Alma were delicious and a great way to start the day. Two restaurants are open for lunch, at the pool or beach. The ceviche, fish tacos and cocktails were just want you want at the beach. Dinner at Carao was the star of the show. WOW, WOW, WOW. Karen and the team of talented folks making every dinner experience special. And the team in the kitchen are so talented. We had dinner at Carao two of four nights...I would probably have it three times next time. And the pool at Carao for sunset...dressed up for cocktails or in the pool swimming as the sun goes down was a highlight. The spa offers unique and local experiences, we had multiple services from spiritual ceremonies to sound bath massages. They have even offer no touch services, if you need or prefer. The spa will be an incredible asset to this hotel as it evolves in the jungle! We took yoga classes and bootcamp offered complimentary in the morning for small groups. Both instructors were awesome. One item to note as with the property being so large, you need a golf cart to get from place to place. Know this going in and you will appreciate it when you're on property and have the private space and undisturbed beauty of nature and the jungle. This hotel is brand new but no doubt will soon be one of the best hotels in the world."
"One and Only Mandarina exceeded my expectations in comfort, beauty and service. One hr. Transport from PVR was perfectly timed and executed. Our Panoramic Oceanview Villa was fabulous. Bed and linens were luxurious. Double rainhead shower with exterior view. Balcony with plunge pool completely private. Lunch on the protected cove beach at the Jetty was provided with beautiful chaise longue. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served at Alma featuring 2 beautiful infinity pools. Varied cuisine with exceptional service. Carao is outdoor and indoor dining. Famed chef featuring upscale Mexican cuisine. Beautiful infinity pool to view the sunsets. No food or beverage service at this pool before 5pm but stunning views. Kids Club was closed because of COVID but viewed it from the road and looks amazing. Spa only offered massages because of COVID restrictions but toured it and it is amazing as well. Butler service and transportation provided by golf cart - door to door service. You may communicate with entire property via an app on your phone. All villas built into the side of the mountains with varied views. This was our first trip since 2019 because of travel restrictions. I just read a couple TripAdviser negative reviews about the service. We stayed here Nov. 17 - 23 and service was perfect. Our wait for golf carts was barely 10 min."
"This amazing resort opened 3 days before our arrival so we anticipated a few hiccups. What we found was a first class oasis and the absolutely perfect Covid era destination. Each room is its own treehouse spread out among 144 acres of jungle with spectacular views of the ocean and mountains. There are three fabulous open air restaurants each with their own vistas, setting and ambiance and pools so you can move around the property throughout the day. The beach is protected by a jetty so the waves are perfect for body surfing, paddle boarding and kayaking. The tasting menu at the Cacao restaurant rivaled our experiences at the best restaurants in the world. The beautiful spa and wellness center had some communication issues but by the time we left those had already been addressed and resolved. We spent 4 days here and always had a full day of hiking, beach activities, gorging or just relaxing in our treehouse in the private plunge pool, outdoor bathtub and luxurious room. Serge, the GM of the property, was constantly accessible, always smiling and is the epitome of the One and Only signature greeting of “Welcome Home”. We will return to this property again very soon."

"The Four Seasons at Punta Mita, is a fabulous retreat away from the Hustle and Bustle.!! It is conveniently located about 45 minutes from Puerto Vallarta, with transportation easily arranged through the hotel. Ms. Juana Torres, the Director, met us upon arrival – she’s highly regarded among the staff – and the staff could not have been more friendly, helpful, nor capable. Ms. Torres arranged an upgrade and we had a fantastic one bedroom suite on the beach with a private plunge pool. Lauro was very helpful with our luggage, – he deserves special Kudos! Both Check in and Check out were very easy. The breakfast is in Dos Catrinas, a Mexican themed restaurant which is delicious and the servers are great! Humberto and Marcello are exceptional servers and ambassadors for the resort. (Kudos to them as well!!) There is a sumptuous buffet with waffles, pancakes, tacos, and an omelet station in addition to a vast array of Mexican delicacies, breads, fresh fruits and cereals, meats and cheeses. The view is beautiful overlooking the ocean. Other dining options include Aramara (an Asian/Fusion themed restaurant) and our favorite – Bahia which features fresh fish and steaks. A tip…. Try their signature pink snapper – its excellent! There are many activities available at the resort including several pools (one called Tamai is adults only) which are heated - and a hot tub, a very well maintained and uncrowded Gym with a vast array of cardio options in addition to Techno Gym equipment and free weights/ dumbbells, kettle bells, and ample space for stretching and “doing your own thing”. There is also a fully equipped Spa with expected services. We particularly enjoyed floating on the Lazy River – also extremely uncrowded, especially between 10 AM to Noon. There are options for Children – the resort is Family Friendly. Golf and Tennis are available, and arrangements can be made for snorkeling, boating, fishing, or excursions on ATV, whale watching, or swimming with the Dolphins. In summary, this Resort features a wonderful team of people working to make certain you have a fabulous vacation experience and is located in a very unique picturesque region – Enjoy!!"
"We made our second visit to FS Punta Mita in October after having an incredible trip last year. This was our first time traveling since COVID hit and we were a bit worried about how comfortable we would feel, particularly going to a different country. However, once we arrived we felt completely safe with the precautions that had been put in place. I don’t think I ever saw a single staff member without a mask on. The resort was at reduced capacity (I believe 30%) but even during our visit last year I never found it to be crowded. The most memorable part of our trip last year was the amazing staff and quality of service, and this year was certainly a repeat of that. While I am sure that part of this can be attributed to great training of staff, I’m also convinced that they are all genuine, caring people. No request was too big or too small and everyone we interacted with went out of their way to give us the best possible experience. Because of the pandemic, I was a bit worried that there would be limited staffing that would impact the experience. However, I never found this to be an issue. It was also great to hear from one of our waiters that the resort has made effort to continue to support those workers that have not been able to return by providing income for several months and supplying food for their families. The food & drinks were great and I found the prices to be very reasonable compared to other high end Mexican resorts. We ate several dinners at Dos Catrinas which never left us disappointed. Breakfast was included in our package and was a huge plus. Because of COVID they weren’t able to have the amazing breakfast buffet they had last year (sad!) but the a la carte options left us more than satisfied. Do not miss out on the Baja shrimp tacos on the beach. We did venture into town to eat at Tuna Blanca and Punta Mercedes, both of which we enjoyed as well. We enjoyed ourselves so much we couldn’t bear leaving this special place after just four days, so we decided to extend our stay an extra night. Already looking forward to our return visit next year!"
"We spent 4 nights in Puerto Vallarta at Garza Blanca, 6 nights at Punta Mita St Regis and 4 nights at the Four Seasons. The Four Seasons was by far our favorite. The resort is absolutely gorgeous. Artwork everywhere. Beautiful landscaping. Thoughtful touches that show how much they care. Every inch well tended and immaculate. Our room was beautifully decorated and designed with a comfortable lanai and exquisite views. The main pool is smallish for the size of the resort but because of Covid the hotel is only allowed 30% occupancy so it was fine for us. With full occupancy the pool would be too small. They have an adult only pool but it’s tucked away with no ocean views or beach access and to me, unappealing. The one shortcoming. There are two long, sandy white beaches but the water was a little rough while we were there so we only went in the ocean once. We ate at their Dos Katrinas restaurant exclusively because the food and the views were so perfect we had no desire to go elsewhere. The gym is huge, well equipped and strictly enforcing Covid rules. Service everywhere was perfect. The staff is amazing. It was so beautiful and so relaxing we wished we had skipped the other two resorts and only come here. It’s expensive, very expensive but such a lovely experience."

"One of Hilton’s newest Conrad properties is hands down the nicest I’ve stayed at (this is my 10th Conrad property). From the open air lobby to the room to the numerous pools and grounds everything is in top notch shape and beautiful. Conrad is known for embracing the local culture in its decor and I loved the Mexican decor in the room as well as the common areas. Service is pretty top notch, restaurant staff, pool staff and concierge are exceptional. Special shout to Ernesto in the concierge who not only went above and beyond to make our stay perfect, but also is a great representation of what Conrad hotels are known for, personalized service. Like I mentioned 3 pools which were all amazing (loved the water slide and infinity pool) and a beautiful beach. Dining was delicious. We loved the beach grill Mezquite. Recommended for dinner and enjoyed the live music while watching the sunset. Paleta, the pool grill & bar was our favorite for lunch and awesome pina coladas. Our only disappointment was Arbol, the continental breakfast was by far the worst breakfast I’ve ever had at a Conrad, I’ve had better at a Hampton Inn. Not sure if this was due to COVID-19 but it needs work, go stay at other Conrad’s and see what they offer. As far as rooms go I totally recommend the beachfront room with plunge pool, it’s totally worth the extra cost. The hotel has COVID policies in place for safety from temperature checks to sanitizer to masks so you should feel very safe. In addition the hotel is running low occupancy so there’s plenty of space for distancing and the pool are always quiet. If you are looking for a getaway, I totally recommend Conrad Punta de Mita for an “ inspired stay”."
"Just ended a four night stay in an oceanfront suite. Beautiful location and views. Due to COVID and the recent opening, the place was virtually empty - which was wonderful for us. Very conscientious about COVID cleaning and spacing. Staff always had masks on. Breakfast was wonderful. Only complaint was that the in-room dining was slow to arrive (an hour on two occasions) and when we got it the food was either tepid or cold. Otherwise, great variety of pools and spaces. Beautiful grounds. No issues with the service or staff being rude. Would stay again. "
"Stayed here for 5 days in late October and was really impressed with how beautiful the hotel and grounds where. Located inside a gated community, the beach was great with very little people. Felt like the beach was all to ourselves. I visited with a group of friends and we all really enjoyed it. Customer service was top notch from the front desk, restaurant, pool staff, bellman and house keeping. There was some extraordinary staff such as Maite from the front desk, Esteban from Tuki bar, Alejandro from concierge and Julio pool staff. I look forward to returning again and would highly recommend if you are looking for a secluded top tier hotel, away from the bustle of Puerto Vallarta. "

"We stayed here for two nights. We booked one night using our annual free night provided by our credit card, and a second night on points. We tried to use Suite Night Awards, but were denied this benefit a couple days prior to check in, even though Suites were available. After looking at our first room - the units that open up to the little lagoon area, we decided to pay an additional $500 per night to upgrade to an Oasis Suite. The Oasis Suite is supposed to be one of the best rooms at the property. Our room, like nearly everything else at this property is flashy at first glance, but miserably unfunctional once you actually try to enjoy the spaces. I can provide several examples. Bathroom: A complete design disaster. The floor of the bathroom is made of cheap wood planks, which look nice at first glance, but when you go to take a shower, you realize that this surface is slippery and unfunctional. To top it off, there is not proper drainage, so the soapy water just sits there, puddling beneath the floor boards. This area is adjacent to and connected to an outdoor tub area. Our tub was very hot - I measured it at 110 degrees. However, it would only hold water halfway up. We asked them to fix it, but after two tries by the staff, we gave up. That same wood planking is in the outside area, with similar drainage issues. Lastly, the toilet was needlessly installed in the far corner of the bathroom, without proper clearances to the side (15" minimum to each side not met) or in front (24" minimum not even close). So, my legs would stick to the side wall and my knees would knock the wall in front of me while on the toilet. Again, worn areas on the walls were evidence that many others had the same experience. Moisture damage was on every surface in the bathroom area - exploding seams and mold on the windows and sliding doors, damaged, crumbling stucco everywhere, etc. Another note on the sliding door in the bathroom to the outdoor tub - it has vegetation growing in the door sill, and you could see through the from the outside underneath the door sill - leaving every bug easy access to the room. Balcony with pool - Upon first glance from the sliding patio door - looked great. But when you get in - it's only about 18" or two feet deep. Getting in and out is a challenge too - no railing, nothing to hang onto, and again slippery surfaces everywhere. And get this - our "pool" was 114 degrees. How do I know? I measured the temperature with my digital thermometer. 105 is the limit for any hot tub, let alone a pool. This was a major heating malfunction, that never got corrected after complaining. Strike two for outdoor water features in our room. The rest of the deck was that same cheap wood. The deck was made from painted cheap pine planks. Buckling and broken in several areas - about 1.5 inches of flex as you would walk on it. Same drainage issue out here - water just sits under the planks, so everytime it rains or gets "
"It was a 3 nights trip, and I would like to stay more ¡¡ the hotel is so beautiful, the restaurants delicious, maybe I miss something more casual for dinner, a pizza or pasta, but everything we eat was really good, the staff very friendly, the guys that attend the beach very kind and helpfull, maybe it is a hotel for young people or middle age, I will not recommend too much for kids, but everything else.... great the beach is one of the best in all Riviera Nayarit and Puerto Vallarta"
"We had a great experience at the W. The staff are so friendly and accommodating. The hotel, beach and grounds are beautiful. The water is perfect for boogie boarding and body surfing. The food is great and room service is very prompt if you want to do that. We were upgraded and loved our room and the view. The pool areas are well thought out and relaxing. The gym is clean and well equipped. Really we have nothing but good things to say. "

"Most people know about Punta de Mita or Sayulita, if they even heard about either one at all when they want to travel to Jalisco or Nayarit and probably if I left it at that we would have ended up in a big high rise somewhere on the shoreline Puerto Vallarta.. but if you do your homework and do the research you can actually find the true gems like Hotel Basalto in Punta Negra; very affordable yet luxurious property with 10 rooms on a beautiful waterfront with modern amenities, very convenient to either explore the area of with a car or stay on the spot and do nothing (it actually has its own restaurant serving food throughout the day, something super rare in this region) yet away from "Puerto Vallarta's hustle and bustle." Location: it's an easy and quite pleasant 45-50 minutes drive "north west" of the PVR airport - you literally hop on the Route 200 and never get off until you arrive in Punta de Mita when you simply take a right turn to stay on the main road rather getting into town and head towards Sayulita to after less than 5 minutes arrive at Punta Negra - basically a shoreline community with some very nice properties, many rentals/villas etc. The word of advice I would give you is to slow down and be on the look out for the speed bumps - there are so many of them heading this way from the airport and I don't recall any of them being marked in advance - it's a big and fast road with 2 lines most of the time but the speed bumps are poorly visible :) Also, once you take the road to Punta Negra don't freak out as the side dirt road leading to the community is in bad condition (something very surprising for such a high end community) and there is a pretty big water "trench" right when you switch from the main road - a Kia Rio passenger car did perfectly fine, if I didn't know how the Hotel Basalto looks like and checked it online I would have second guested myself for certain but I just patiently drove for couple minutes and we arrived at the beautiful Basalto property! Grounds/Building: Hotel Basalto is very new (google pictures don't even show the current property but some old buildings from the past) and I believe they opened right before COVID hit - they have just 10 rooms, their own Roca Negra restaurant, roof pool where the lounge area is facing the sea with a bar, another lounge area in the back with some hammocks and in the lower level pool there is another smaller pool. It's not a big property but very pretty - as we drive in and out each time we admired how well it presents itself in the region. There are stairs that lead you all the way to the small beach directly in the front of the property, I honestly didn't have guts to swim there but I did enjoy the refreshing ocean water one day when the tide was low, I did see others swim there or do the paddle boards as well. I recommend checking the "caves/rocks" when the tide is low, pretty unique. The parking is fairly limited in the front and the garage is not for the guests use"
"Hotel Basalto is a brand new hotel in Punta Mita, on the North side of Puerto Vallarta. We loved that its boutique style allowed personal attention and details as some of the staff new us by name! If you like the ocean (which you do if you're reading this) location is hard to beat as I can only think of one hotel I've ever been at that was as close to the sea. Staff is helpful and friendly, rooms are spacious and spotless, food is delicious and the location is great for some well deserved R&R; the surroundings are very quiet as all you hear is the ocean. If you surf you'll enjoy having an almost empty break just a short paddle away, and while the beach right in front is only accessible on low tide just a two minute walk away there's another very long beach with fine sand. Will definitely return!"
"For people looking for luxury away from the hustle and bustle. This hotel is modern with an incredible view from the roof top lounge and bar, of the two beaches on each side. We had the ocean view king and it was well worth the higher price. The staff was attentive and very friendly. There's two small pools top and bottom; the upper one great for laps. The restaurant is top notch with inventive dishes of quality ingredients. This place is for getting away from it all in a beautiful setting and good food and service. "

"The location of this hotel is exceptional! It is on the south end of the beach, which is super convenient to the surf break and a couple blocks to downtown. The hotel is new and amenities are very tasteful. The air conditioner worked really well and kept us cool. The staff were friendly and did everything they could to make us comfortable. We were there for 8 nights and enjoyed our relaxed visit very much. The only things to note is that the beds are firm (firmer than we preferred), and there was construction still going on at the hotel which happened every day. If the door was closed the noise was light. The management said they would be done in two weeks. Overall we would choose this hotel when we return."
"The staff are wonderful, location excellent...away from crowds and quiet at night and right across the small quiet street ....is the beach. There is a nice restaurant, Si Senor to the left toward the beach by the cemetery and to the right ..more of a hilly walk...3-4 blocks to town and many choices for food etc. The hotel serves breakfast and drinks during the day. The couple who run the breakfast and drinks are very nice. The rooms are large, all concrete, the furniture uncomfortable, and the bed very hard. I did keep the air conditioning on and fans going to combat the damp ....and it was chilly. I had a nice balcony but it didn’t ever get sun..and it was windy. I did ask for a hair dryer and got one. Be prepared to walk.....steps and hills. I loved seeing the sea birds and the sound of the ocean.Sayulita is a jolly little hippy surfing town."
"We were here for 6 nights and had a wonderful time! The hotel was very clean, and Gustavo, and Rodrigo at the front desk were very friendly and helpful! The view from our room was beautiful! We woke to beautiful sunrises, and went to sleep to the sound of the ocean! The only issue that we had was the "restaurant". Their website leads you to believe that there is an actual restaurant on site. There is a snack shack that is open from 9am to 4pm for food. A bit disappointing, but we found plenty of delicious meals nearby! Overall, a wonderful experience!"
