"My girlfriend and me we have been there 03 weeks ago and we loved the magical Chianti. The Chianti area is really an unique region to visit and this place is the perfect place to visit it (so elegant inside in really chianti style especially the hall and the panoramic terraces). We loved our room, the bed was so comfortable. Wifi also was good. The breakfast buffet in the morning was so delicious .........and the views!!! We had our car and their parking is closed, sure and FREE. We will come back for sure but this time we hope in the summer."
"What a real surprise has been this place for us. We booked there for just one night but was so perfect that.....at the end we stayed 06 nights. This inn is right in the center of the Chianti area. Florence, Siena, San Gimignano, the wineries are so close and easy to reach. Very helpful staff. The common areas are very elegant and clean. We were there in Autumn but the weather was still good. Our room was beautiful and comfortable (the cleaning staff clean the accommodation every day). We absolutely recommend thi little gem!!!!"
"Fantastic experience in Radda in Chianti, we originally booked for just 2 nights but at the end we stayed 5 nights. We had everything we needed and the staff was so helpful that we prefered to increase our stay. We had very beautiful sunny days so the gardens, the park and the views were really incredible. The inn inside is very elegant and cosy. Our Double room was gracious and very clean. Very tasty italian breakfast. Next trip in Italy we will come back for sure.... Thank you again Villa Sant`Uberto."

"We were over the moon with this find! The location, the apartment, the pool and the general feel of this place was magical. It was away from the touristy hub, close enough to authentic Italian villages and gave us the sense we were in the "real"Italy. The apartment was spacious and better than the website. It was kitted out with some free standing fans but we did miss the air conditioning on a few nights when the temperature was high 30's! The kitchen was adequately equipped however I would have made use of a few more large bowls when cooking, a full set of mugs/glasses based on the apartment was for 4. The hot tub room was lovely and we made use of the bike hire. This is definitely the place to go if you are looking for some rest and quiet whilst looking at the beautiful views. We loved Gaiole and found some fab places to eat. The food was stunning and the service great. It's only 30 mins from siena too. Gabriele is welcoming, friendly and helpful and stays very much in the background to let you enjoy your holiday. He speaks enough English to help with anything. If I was to suggest how the stay at Le Pieve Marsina could be made even better, it would be for there to be an accesible book in the reception room with important information in. It's useful for guests to share tips, places to go, eat and a list of numbers in a book for local services (doctor, pharmacy, supermarket etc) would be good to access at all times when Gabriele is not about. We have always stayed in self catering places like this but have found you can gain so much insight from past guests, especially for good little finds. We would have recommended a few places to eat and a visit to the hot springs. There were very thoughtful gestures offered, like the free use of the washing machine and use of the barbeques. This was a nice touch. A little system for booking the barbeque would be helpful as sometimes they were in use (only 2) when we had planned to use it! We would definitely recommend staying at this beautiful place and will definitely return again. Thank you Gabriele. We loved our stay at Le Pieve Marsina "
"This is not a generic international hotel chain that’s for sure. The estate is full of history and bespoke charm. The view is amazing and exactly what I pictured when I booked a place to stay in Tuscany .We had a 2 bedroom apartment with a lovely deck out the front overlooking the classic Tuscan scene. We were there for 4 nights and ate in for 2.There is a bar b q ( only 2 so need to book) and a very basic kitchen ( no stove, only gas cooktop). The best place for food shopping is actually Radda in Chianti ( well worth a visit as a charming little hill town), it had an amazing butcher / deli/ specialist food store.Gaole in Chianti also had a butcher shop and supermarket but not as good. We had dinner at the truffle place in Monti ( see separate review) and an amazing lunch at a winery, both suggested by Gabriel .San Gimignano worth a look but really there are lots of lovely little villages, castles and churches all around. We saw a couple getting married in the cute little church at Vertine. The pool area was lovely to spend time at after a hard days sightseeing. We didn’t have a dog but lots of others did so if that bothers you it might not be the right place for you."
"Driving to La Pieve Marsina, the view was already stunning. It's in the middle of vineyards and hills and when you arrive, you're in a little paradise. The host is very kind and helpful and he responds very quickly if you mail, text or call him. The apartment was beautiful, with spacious rooms and nice beds, very clean, cool, and cosy. The pool is so very lovely, it has a splendid view over the hills and vineyards. I didn't want to leave anymore and I would certainly recommend this to everybody!! "

"If you want to experience the original Tuscan countryside life, it's right to come here~ From the car to Florence, the scenery is very beautiful. The estate is located in the Chianti wine region, surrounded by vineyards and offering wine tours. Most of the poolside is the Englishman who comes to the sun, as well as tennis courts and cooking classes. The room is rustic + antique style, more comfortable, it is best to book the room facing the valley in advance. The cook is very cute, the candlelight dinner in the sunset, I didn't expect much, but it was much better than the local family restaurants in Florence. The couple of the owner of the estate are very enthusiastic, take me to the side in the orchard and eat and explain hahaha~ and let me bring words to everyone, welcome Chinese to play ~"

"We stayed here for 5 nights and used it as a base to visit nearby cities and villages. Location: 4/5 - The views are absolutely beautiful and cannot be beaten, but the small road up to the hotel is crazy steep and has blind bends with only room for one car - it feels like an accident waiting to happen! Local train station is 10 mins drive away and on a 30min line to Florence - Parking was a nightmare though as locals obviously use it to commute. Spa: 5/5- Absolute pure luxury! Exactly how it looks on the pictures. Couldn’t ask for more. If you want a luxury spa you won’t be disappointed. Room: 2.5/5 -Pretty, rustic and clean but in need of a polish. Discolouration of bathroom tiles...etc. We also suffered a plague of insects. The first few days we saw a few beetles and squished them -no issue but we had to keep windows closed. On the last night we couldn’t sleep there were so many and must have killed about 30. We were moved rooms (at midnight) to escape them but given we had to wake up to fly at 6am this was inconvenient. We were told other rooms in the same area of the hotel were suffering the same issues. I understand that it’s the time of year...etc but a luxury 4* hotel should not have guests being evacuated from rooms due to bugs. No excuses. Staff 5/5- The staff were lovely, our receptionist was very helpful and the restaurant staff very polite. There was a language barrier (mainly in restaurant) as some staff speak better English than others and it did cause confusion one evening which was frustrating. However, their English was still far better than our Italian so can’t complain! The chap who dealt with us on our last night (when we had to change rooms due to bugs) was very professional and quick to help us which made the situation a bit better."
"We wanted to visit this restaurant because we have had food made off the chef Federico Cardi. He was not at work this evening, but the food had the samen level as he normaly do. High level, and service with a great sence of humor. And the prices is in same level as in other restaurant in the area. We wiil come bach"
"Great Stay at villa la borghetta! This Resort in tuscany is perfect to enjoy the chinti area. Rooms with view and wonderful location.... The restaurant is a plus! Great Tuscan food and pool with view!!"

"Perhaps we arrived at an off weekend because based on all the reviews we have read, this place seemed like a dream; however, we didn’t not get the experience that we anticipated. First we would like to caveat this post with the fact that we live in Italy and have had wonderful experiences across the country. The Castello was indeed lovely and the location was tucked away from the main road and very quaint. But other than the proximity to Siena, the experience of staying in a castle, and being in the midst of the Tuscan hillsides, the place itself left a lot to be desired, especially service and accommodations. We didn’t feel very welcomed and no one went the extra mile to ensure our comfort and we felt like we could have had a better and more intimate experience at another winery nearby. Upon our arrival we were unceremoniously greeted by the receptionist - there was no promised tour of the grounds, no explanation about the wine tours or cooking classes. We tried booking one but were told to find the owner and ask her. We ended up not booking any for this trip. When we got to our room in the tower, the room that we stayed in was pretty small but the decor was lovely. The breakfast and the dinner were okay - there was nothing special about it and we felt like the waiters weren’t very welcoming or attentive. We really felt like the staff didn’t provide us with the personal touches we usually experience across other places in Italy and we will try to seek out this experience elsewhere on our return to Tuscany. "
"We chose this castle for a peaceful place to stay, where olive oil and wine is produced from this property. The people here are wonderful! They go above and beyond to make this experience personal and excellent! We loved the cooking class with Francesca! We prepared and ate a full course meal, and recipes were shared to be able to make at home! Gurpreet and Francesca prepared and presented an amazing wine cellar dinner! The breakfasts and restaurant dinners were wonderful! The property is beautifully kept as well. Updated facilities are incorporated with original character of the castle, which is a great combination. We especially enjoyed our room in the tower. Exceptional!"
"What a hidden gem along the side of the road. A handprinted sign offering olive oil and wine tasting drew our curiosity. What an unexpected find!!!! At the top of the hill was a beautiful relais hotel, complete with castle turret and amazing rooftop vistas of the Tuscan hills! A tour complete with wine and olive oil tasting in the tower's dungeon was a highlight and Daniela, our guide/sommelier, was a wealth of information not only on the history of Castello di Tornano but the entire Tuscan region. Not to be missed as you're driving by. Next time we're in Tuscany we plan to stay the night!"

"I would like to start this off with I am very picky with food, cleanliness and overall customer service which is why I gave it a five star. We stayed here for four nights to chill and experience to Tuscany. Loved that it wasn't a huge hotel with many rooms but that being said it didn't skimp on anything. 1st example... I had called to see if there were any other English channels on the TV, I was still holding and then get a knock on our door within a minute they walked me though the programming. The wait staff was excellent in the restaurant was amazing. Vivianna was one of the staff that we happened to have had the first three meals at the hotel and we just clicked with her. She gave us a couple of great recommendations of what towns to check out to, get out of the crowds. Besides her guidance on that she and the other servers paid attention to details, I brought up some huge allergies she made sure nothing touched my plate, this was repeated in the morning when I saw Kiwi and she followed up with the kitchen to make sure I won't have any issues with cross contamination. The front desk was always smiling and available for suggestions. We both used the spa for facial and massage, very happy. Love spot and would love to make it back in the future. Thank you to all for the experience."
"This is a gorgeous place in a great location, very peaceful with lovely sunset views over Siena. Pools and onsite facilities were excellent as was the restaurant which we ate in both nights and well worth it as the food and wine were delicious. Our only complaints are about our ground floor room, 906 - although huge it had no comfortable chairs to sit in yet could have accommodated a couple. It did have a big bath, in the bedroom (?) but this we didn't use it. It just wasn't cosy enough, no rug, nowhere to sit (other than on the bed or at the desk, despite having the space if existing furniture was moved around). We also found the location of our room didn't allow us to have our curtains open as it is close to reception and lots of people, both staff and other guests, walked past the glass doors fairly constantly. The shutters made the room too dark and the existing curtains are not translucent enough to let light through so we found it a bit dark as we had to draw the curtains, especially if coming out of the bathroom which was pretty much in full view of the outside path! Another reason to not use the bath in the bedroom. A few small tweaks could make this a much better room. There was a kettle for tea and coffee but no bottled water provided which you would expect as this price point (other than in the minibar). The plastic wrapped, plastic cups in the bathroom were also a bit tacky and actual glasses would have been nicer and better for the environment."
"Such a beautiful hotel and wonderful staff made this weekend away just perfect. I could easily spend much longer there and will be going back. The food at the restaurant is delicious but could potentially be a tiny bit more varied night to night, that said we were happy dining in 3 nights in a row. For pre dinner drinks, knowledgeable on cocktails as well as wine. Breakfast(included) in the new ages was gorgeous, they provide a mini buffett per table with pastries, yoghurt, cereal and fruit. For anything else it is extra and as someone who isn't a pastry fan that was a bit annoying but I also understand and this is just my preference. The grounds are beautiful, the pool area super relaxing. They missed a trick not offering pool side service as I would definitely have ordered quite a bit, snacks and drinks etc but you can go and order it. Location great, you definitely need a car if you want to go outside, there are some great villages/towns nearby (about 20-25mins away mostly because the roads are windy and slow rather than places are far away). I also got a massage and that was great too. Overall- so great."

"What an absolutely stunning hotel. We booked this hotel because we made a dinner reservation at Dario Cecchini’s restaurant located across the square. The village itself is stunning and tranquil. The reception at the hotel was first class, friendly and very helpful. The facilities are very good. The swimming pool was wonderful. We enjoyed a swim. The garden is stunning and well cared for. The breakfast was very good and stunning enjoyed on the terrace. The room was beautifully tastefully decorated and is very comfortable. We cannot wait to return! "
"We enjoyed our 2 night stay here in a room with a terrace. Highly recommend buying wine from the honor bar on the first floor and enjoy it on the terrace! Friendly, helpful staff. Fabio helped with restaurant recommendations and making reservations. Clean, spacious, comfortable room. Breakfast was tasty with friendly service. No issues with parking. i Parking was on the street or at a free public parking lot. Easy to find places to eat and drink for dinner. We regretted not staying here longer."
"We visited just two weeks after the reopening after the renovation. The hotel is beautiful! A wonderfull combinatie of old and new and the Decamarone-theme is done very modern and tastefull. Our room was big, nice view, good bed and bathroom and airconditioning. Yummy breakfast and great service!"
