"3.5/5 stars. We stayed in Room 329, a Lakeside King, which had a spectacular view and was very clean however our bed was broken. Springs were popping up randomly, even if no one was near the bed. Did not bring it to the attention of staff at that time. Did leave it on comment card and emailed them when we returned, no response. We decided to make do since it was only 2 nights. Our friends beds in other rooms were firm but good condition, they slept great. The view is the highlight of the place. Pool area was super nice but no hot tub and towels are kept in your room. Only seating in the area is loungers and are difficult to get in and out of with mobility issues. We had 3 meals on-site and the food was terrible, bartenders were inexperienced and couldn't get a decent mixed drink. Everyone we encountered all weekend was super nice and personable. The location is perfect for R&R. I highly recommend staying lakeside (garden rooms have a window view of the parking lot). Pro's: Service, location, views, pool Cons: Dining, beds. We will stay again because it's not a far drive for us and we did enjoy ourselves. Off-season is wonderful if you don't like crowds. We had the pool all to ourselves."
"My husband and I were married near FourWinds last year and returned there this year to celebrate our one year anniversary. It is beautiful all around there in the Fall. The hotel is very clean and everyone is really friendly. We had a very nice waiter, Dan, at the Windjammer & TradeWinds restaurant. The hotel could use some updated mattresses and pillows, they were not very comfy at all. There's plenty of sights to see at the FourWinds property and surrounding areas. We will definitely return next fall!"
"We had the best service ever. It was like staying at the Ritz. All the staff were friendly especially Cyrus. He was awesome and wenr above and beyond to help with anything we needed to make our stay comfortable and peaceful. Everything was very clean. The food amazing. Will totally be staying here again."

"This was our first stay in Bloomington for our yearly girls getaway and we will definitely be back. The staff is super helpful and nice! I got texted before I even arrived to register. They had pillows I requested already in my room. Nice size room for the 4 of us. Beds are super comfy and the rooms were very clean. Whenever we needed something all I had to do was text and the robot, Archie brought it up which was so cool! The breakfasts were very yummy. The only negative was that the hot tub was down for maintenance which we were looking forward to using but we did use the pool which had a nice size pool deck. This hotel is highly recommended and we will be using again for a future getaway!"
"Front desk and breakfast staff were super friendly and professional. We will stay here again! Room was priced well. IHG is always so easy to deal with. The hallways are clean. The room was super clean. They had a cool texting system for checkin and check out."
"Family activity took us to Bloomington. The hotel was centrally located for what we were doing and was clean and comfortable. Easy to get to and convenient for getting in and out of town. Near the college but not too busy. "

"Recently stayed at HGI Bloomington, IN. I’ve had a child at IU beginning in 2012 (luckily just 1 at a time!) so I’ve been here a number of times, alternating between Hilton and Hyatt Place. I’m sad to see that HGI has been consistently going down. My total for 4 days=$786, including taxes but no parking or any other room charges. Cons beginning at check in: front desk staff eating (at front desk) so lobby smelled like their dinner; my room had a number of issues including both toilet paper rolls with maybe 1/6th remaining so 1st call to housekeeping to get more, toilet seat is very far off center (think about it...cold), bottom fitted sheet on inside-out, liners in wastebaskets are too big so whatever is disposed “sinks” liner and I’m not readjusting it each time so…, obvious blood stains on pillow (not pillowcase, actual end of pillow sticking out), room looks “topically” clean but corners, baseboards, and mirrors (cleaned to arms reach only) are clearly just given a pass over, male housekeeper for my floor was talking on the phone and again/still on the phone in another room when I came back approx 20 min later (reason for inside-out sheets?). It was cold while I was there and I called front desk to ask for a blanket as there was not an extra in the room (aren't there always extra pillows/blanket?). Michael (manager?) brought one up so I showed him the issues. He apologized and sent up Molly to change the sheets and replace the bloodstained pillow. Next day, Saturday, I left the room at 1pm and returned at 5:30pm. No, the do not disturb was not on my door, nor was the “green” notice, yet the room had not been touched. I again called the front desk to ask for at least clean towels for the next day. That evening, when moving the armchair for son and I to eat in the room, we found Skittles and M&M’s scattered under and behind the chair. Pros are that staff are friendly and obviously it’s convenient to visiting IU. After responding to a Hilton survey, someone reached out to ask about my experience. I emailed back with my experience, then followed up a week later after no response."
"We always checked to this hotel every time we visit my niece in Bloomington because the place is clean, staff are courteous, and they offered healthy meals. The breakfast is always good. The location is also convenient, close to dining places."
"The Hilton Garden Inn is right in the heart of downtown Kirkwood which is a great location to walk to shops, restaurants and campus. I stayed there a year ago it was ok. The parking garage is around the corner and is not very convenient. This stay there was a convention with high school kids very crowded and loud. We were given a room by the elevators so I requested a room change. We were given a worse room down the hall facing the busy 6 th street with the stop light walk sign outside our window that continuously beeped. If you are not a very deep sound sleeper don’t stay at this hotel most of the rooms face the town which is loud with traffic honking and people outside yelling and partying till all hours of the night. The rooms are dated not worth the price. I will never stay here again!"

"My daughter and I recently stayed 2 nights at Graduate Bloomington. We were pleased with the friendliness of the staff and the proximity to Indiana University. The room felt a little on the smaller side but the bed was very comfortable. The complimentary peppermint shampoo was great, the cilantro conditioner was unusual but okay, and the rum body wash smelled awful (in our opinion). The valet, Brandon, went out of his way to assist us when we had issues with our rental car. Thank you, Brandon! We appreciate your kindness! "
"Great clean place close to IU campus! With late check out, my son was able to to remote high school in the AM before we did an IU campus tour in the afternoon. So the experience was super convenient and enjoyable. The room decor is funky, some of my co-workers saw the room on my Zoom biz calls and were like "where the heck are you" so that was a bit amusing too."
"The hotel is located in the center of Bloomington, close to pedestrian streets and stations. The location is very convenient, there are many restaurants within a 5-minute walk, and about a 5-minute drive from the IU. The decoration of the hotel is more distinctive and clean. The hotel has a restaurant and provides free coffee every morning. The only drawback is that the hotel parking is not free, you need to pay ten dollars per night!"

"With your stay you also receive a complimentary breakfast. Many of the places I've stayed before offer this as well but the food is rarely worth waking up early for. For being a complimentary breakfast the food was actually good here. The food was well prepared courtesy of Marta H"
"The hallmark of this place apart from its good location is the exceptional professional staff who are all courteous and incredibly friendly.. I stayed many times over the last few weeks and enjoyed their nice in suit kitchen where you can prepare your own meals or you can walk to one of the nearby Five restaurants Very understanding staff although the pressure of the COVID-19... Will visit again Recommend it"
"We have stayed at a Towneplace in another city and were very impressed. This one was another story. We had a reservation at the Fairfield Inn next door only to find out the night before our arrival, it was closed and that our reservation had been moved to another hotel. No notice: no email. No phone call. We then had to ask where they had moved us. They told us the Towneplace. Great. I had experience with this hotel in the past. No worries. Upon arrival, there was a sign at the front desk stating there would be no housekeeping services due to the pandemic. OK. I was fine with that. I was only there for 2 nights and it stated if we needed anything just ask. Got to the room. It smelled of cigarette smoke but I always carry air freshener with me. Went to put away my hairdryer in the bathroom drawer. OMG. It had dirt, bugs, toenails and god only knows what else. Needless to say my hairdryer found its place on the coffee table. The refrigerator was dirty with lettuce an other particles of food. Opened the kitchen cabinet to find ground, brown particles everywhere. The silverware drawer had a divider that had dirt and crumbs in it. Needles to say, I took out the silverware, plates, bowls and glasses that I thought we would use and ran them through the dishwasher. I wore socks because the carpet was dirty. I know they had a sign for no housekeeping but I thought they would clean between guests! Bedding appeared clean as did the bathroom. Marriott should be ashamed to have this hotel in their fleet."

"This is a great hotel with beyond excellent staff. Every time I stay here, it feels as if I am coming home. I am always treated with a smile and welcome. Leighanna has been at this hotel for a while and remembers me at every check in. Thank you Leighanna. Sally and Keith, hote management, work hard to ensure every guest is treated like family. Thank you Home 2 for being my Bloomington “home”!"
"I stayed in a Home2 by Hilton because the kitchen in the room was so convenient. I have a special diet and being able to still maintain it while on travel for work was so rewarding. The hotel was clean, staff was friendly, and the gym, pool, patio area with grills, and especially the washer/dryer for only $.75ea was a Hit! "
"Newer hotel with very comfortable rooms and soft but inviting color scheme that doesn't look like it came out of 1994. Front desk with Leighanna and Liz was very accommodating to an early check in (occupancy dependent of course) and recommended great brunch spots."
