"DO NOT STAY HERE! We had been traveling all day on the road and we were looking for an affordable night stay. It was a fairly late check in and we were exhausted. I was helped by Jayme at the front desk, nice, but apparently on edge, said she had a had a busy night. She gave us the key to our room and after walking all the way down the other end of the hallway the key didn't work. I walked back to front counter and this process happened 2 more times! After 3 trips back and forth to desk and the keys not working she decided to switch us rooms. We walked to the next room and it reeked of urine, what we could only hope was dog? I proceeded back to let Jayme know of this instance and she switched us rooms, yet again! 3rd time was not a charm, we walked in this room, paid for a queen, but it was 2 double beds, and smelled of mildew. After 10 trips up and down this long hallway, carrying luggage, and changing rooms 3 times I decided to stay put to sleep. We were done! My husband complained the most, but I said it was better than urine, and maybe it was just the hotel? We went to bed, only to both wake up with runny noses, and congestion. We decided to shower, grab our belongings, and go. When I went to take a shower I noticed mold all along the inside frame of the bathroom! Attached you will find pictures. At this time I was very upset and went to inform the staff. I never let any guests know of any of our situations,(even the night before) I was calm, discreet, and polite. I couldn't find anyone at the desk, so I went over to the breakfast station where I found Toni. I let her know of all of our issues and how disturbed we were by our situation at this point. How my husband and I both woke up with congestion and runny noses and found mold in our room. She called a manager at another hotel, Gary on the phone told Toni he would comp our room. She directed me over to Destiny at the front desk, and I repeated this entire story. Destiny then promise to have a manager get a hold of us and have multiple rooms given to me on my account since I am a choice hotels member. After two days and no return call I called the hotel. I got a hold of the manager Selena and informed her of our stay in room 131. She was lackadaisical, didn't seem at all concerned with the mold issue in our room, said they were renting that room right now. I asked if they fixed the mold, she said, yes. Really? She did say they would reimburse us for that night, nothing more. 20 days later, I haven't been able to get in touch with anyone else, nor have I received a refund. I wouldn't waste my time or my money, you do get what you pay for, not worth being exposed to toxic mold, and the headache incurred..."
"The gal who checked me in last night was amazing!! I had accidentally booked the room with a card that was expired and when I was paying she didn’t outright say the card was declined. She just asked if I had another card? I appreciate that type of customer service. The room was very nice, clean and comfortable. The shower was one of the best hotel showers. It had great pressure. Breakfast was also excellent. I would stay here again. "
"I moved from Alabama to Montana and stayed here the first of the year. I stay in hotels often, and this was by far the best, most gracious breakfast attendant I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting! Joann you do an amazing job and made my stay most enjoyable. Sorry it took so long to provide a review but I sure hope your bosses see this and give you a raise."

"My husband and I stayed here for a few days. We had problems with the shower constanly changing temperatures and almost scolding. There were alot of mosquitos in the building(hallways/stair area). We woke up one morning and there was a homeless man sleeping in the hallway. I was pretty worried about our cars the whole time because there was a lot of rift raft around the building. I'm not here to leave a crappy review...just honest. There were some really great things as well. Customer service was a 5/5 and always super helpful. Really nice great people who work here. The maids were great and always attended to anything we needed. The pool and spa were awesome! The slides were defintally a plus. We ate at the resturuant and had a few beers. The chicken tenders were awesome and so was the beer. Really cool place to stay other then the few complaints I had."
"While traveling for work, I had the pleasure of staying at the Billings Hotel & Convention Center. The location of this place is ideal. Right off the freeway with plenty of eating and shopping options near by, but the place is so big that it is still very quiet and peaceful. The hotel offers an indoor pool with a couple of slides, a quaint cafe, a fitness room and even a small casino room with slot machines. The massive lobby is also just a great place to hangout. The rooms are clean and spacious. The next time I am back in town, I will absolutely be back at the Billings Hotel & Convention Center."
"Our non profit all volunteer organization had a large event planned a year in advance for mid April 2020, before the COVID 19 pandemic began. Mr. Jase Muri was a pleasure to work with when we had no choice but to cancel our event due to national health regulations. We sincerely appreciate his generosity and recognize the impact this pandemic is having on this hotel. Thank you, Mr. Muri. We will see you again!"

"I have stayed at Comfort Suites in Billings many times over the past three years. I have even referred the hotel to many people. This past weekend was the last time I'll stay there. I'm finding a new hotel for my frequent trips to Billings. On checkout day (I stayed two nights), even though I had a "do not disturb" sign on my door, three different times that morning housekeeping knocked super loudly on my door (and the third time seemed even louder and her "Housekeeping!" was delivered rudely, definitely in a way as to deliver a message to me that I needed to go. Each time I told them I'd be leaving at the checkout time. Close to checkout time as I left my room to deliver items to my car, a housekeeper (male#1) was standing there. I asked him if he or the other housekeeping staff communicated with each other because I had to tell each one that I was leaving at checkout time. At first he didn't answer, but when I pressed the issue, he said something to the effect that it didn't work that way. As I headed to the elevator, it seemed like he followed me to see if I was getting on the elevator. When I got back to my door another housekeeper (male#2) came out from a room to the hallway to wait for me to leave--and I asked him if that's what he was doing...he affirmed he was, but that he was also waiting for another room to free up. Strangely, neither of my key cards opened my door and I wondered if it was possible that male#1 had anything to do with this. As male#2 was hovering and watching me try to open my door, I asked him if he'd let me in and I mentioned that I came and went all weekend, but didn't have any trouble with my keys. He let me in saying that sometimes the keys are demagnetized or something like that. As I was finishing up my packing (between 5-10 minutes), I heard three voices outside my room. As I exited the room, male#1 and male#2 and one female staff were all waiting on one side of the hallway for me to leave. I had to squeeze by them, and their supply cart with my luggage trolley, to get to the elevator. I hate to speculate, but it almost seemed the were there to intimidate me. As an aside, I can't believe they had nothing to do while they were waiting for people to check out of rooms. The elevator button panel had finger prints and smears everywhere...(I failed to mention that none of the staff wore masks.) I left a note at the desk for a manager to call me. I've not received a call. I go to Billings often...so now, I'm searching for a new hotel. (Also, since I have to answer a question below about hand sanitizer, upon check in, I had to tell the front desk staffer that the hand sanitizer on the desk was empty...She thanked me and said that she didn't know because she never goes to the front of the reception area, that she stays behind it...)"
"Although the hotel seemed clean and the hot tub was nice, the staff needs improvement. A warning to Choice Privileges Rewards members - do not reserve in advance. You might as well wait until you are sitting in the parking lot and look online. The price you would receive that same day will be much better than the price you reserved for months in advance. And they won't want to honor/change to the new price. I asked for the lower price and the staff member at the desk refused....said she couldn't do that. She did, however, make note of my name and phone number and promised she would take it up with the manager and have her call me. Still waiting for that call over two weeks later..... The same staff member also had no clue whatsoever about any pizza places nearby that offered delivery. I had to look that up myself. We frequently order pizza delivery after a long drive and I can't say that I have ever stayed at a hotel where the front desk didn't have this information readily available. The TV remote did not work. Called the front desk and was told to bring it down to swap it out for another. The second remote didn't work either. The third remote had no cover over the battery section and the batteries were in backwards. This one didn't work as well. We gave up. The next morning I brought up all of the issue to the girl working the desk and she finally adjusted my bill. Shouldn't have to go through this many hoops. I wish we had stayed somewhere else."
"I have stayed at this property a few times and it is always nice. The room was clean and quiet, the furniture was nice and the space good. The A/C however is VERY loud! If you are a light sleeper, this is not for you! The fridge is only a fridge with no ice tray. The shower doors, while looking very good are of poor design, since one has to step into the shower to turn on the water, which means you are getting hit with cold water. Lots of outlets, nice lobby and breakfast area and clean well lit, carpeted stairwells. Convenient location with ample parking, next to gas stations, car wash and a few fast food places. Pool and hot-tub were open ('Covid') and are very nice! 'Covid' breakfast however, was a sad state of affairs!"

"Even though my trip to Billings, MT was due to an emergency business trip over the holidays...it’s a place that never lets me down! We always stay at the Northern Hotel which has a staff that is very welcoming every time we visit, and they all have their own distinct but nice personalities. Room service from “Bernies Diner” and “Ten” located downstairs makes life so convenient, the (BananaBread French Toast) from Bernies; and the (steak frites) from Ten-are winners in my book!!! The room has a luxury comfy feel with more than enough space, and the fact that the parking garage is attached to the hotel is a plus! The hotel is located in the heart of downtown with restaurants such as Hooligans [Bar], Jakes [Steak], and Wild Ginger [Hibachi] which all are walking distance and they’re really good recommended places to dine at or grab a drink from! Overall The Northern Hotel is my go to place to stay whenever I travel to Billings and is my home away from home!"
"This is an extremely elegant hotel. Walking in is beautiful and the views are worth a stay. We came here for our three year anniversary and wanted the special and luxury amenities this place has to offer. The TEN restaurant they have on the first floor has wonderful service and the bar is a great place to hang. Like the title states, potential to be an amazing stay but fallen short. The fallen short part was the room service. The options to order for room service are extremely limited, but we made do with what was offered. The food was okay.. We ordered from Bernie’s diner and there is a late night menu offered. The problem wasn’t with necessarily with the food but with the fact that out of the five options available on the late night menu, they had possibly two options that weren’t even the options on said menu. Both nights we stayed. The man we ordered from was not very kind or professional. And both nights we were left very disappointed due to the fact that we could literally order nothing on the late night menu. We mainly chose this place to stay because of the high-class title it seems to hold. Felt like a bit of a let down for a special occasion. We were thankful for the other things that made they stay still enjoyable."
"The Northern Hotel is well located and the parking, valet and self park, on the premises is and free, Easy check in and out. It is the little things that really drop this hotel’s rating. Dirty glassware in the room, why to always wash your own.... The washroom lighting is awful, yellowish and dark. No go for putting on makeup. There is no fan in the washroom. Counter space extremely limited, a tight fit for a couple’s travel necessities. The USB ports on the room did not work. The room’s entry handle was damn near impossible to figure out. There is a big gap between the door bottom and threshold. Any in-room activities need be accomplished in silence. The bed was comfortable enough. It was quite once the neighbor’s child stopped crying and the woman in the hall on her phone decided to finish her conversation in her room. No coat hooks in the public washrooms make hanging coats, bags, etc... impossible. It was an okay stay but not the exceptional couple of days that we had hoped for."

"PROS: It's a beautiful hotel. The water feature catches your eye and the woodwork is beautiful. All of the hot tubs were working (minus the jets for most of them). Beds were very comfy. Rooms were pretty quiet, even though it was fully booked. We had a room with a balcony- the extra space was nice. Breakfast was typical hotel breakfast- nothing to get excited about, but it was free and there was plenty of food. Kids loved the vending machines (accepted credit cards) and the arcade games. Also, they got to feed the fish in the morning. That was cool. CONS: Biggest reason we chose this hotel was for the kids to swim. Pool was frigid. Like, ice cold. Front desk mentioned boiler issues. We never were able to get pool towels (for the hot tubs). You have to ask the front desk every time- there isn't a location to grab them. That's a little awkward in a bathing suit, walking to the front desk to get a pool towel (that they never had). Teenagers were streaking (stark naked) through the common area and there were people with cases of beer taking up the hot tubs. Great if that's your crew- stinks if it's not. Just not a classy, family establishment anymore. Overall- it was Just Ok. We will not be booking here again. In fact, we left after one night and went to a different hotel (and checked their pool temp before we committed to stay). :) "
"We ended our 2 week road trip here and are so happy we did. It is so nice to have a place that is not only clean and comfortable but has an amazing staff as well. Our children couldn't stay out of the water, which provided some quality adult time ; ). We will definitely make this our goto spot in Billings."
"I am very picky about rooms and their cleanliness. This isn’t the newest hotel in Billings, MT, but very impressive. It was inexpensive and I was extremely impressed. My kids were in love with our poolside room and all the fish and hot tubs. The staff was amazing. We will be back for sure."

"We stayed here for a quick overnight while visiting my grandpa in the hospital. There was a wrestling tournament in town so we had to go outside of town to find a hotel last minute. It was pretty convenient to the East side of Billings. Only about 10 minutes to the hospital. I loved the suite we booked. It had 2 queen beds and a pull out sofa. Perfect for traveling with kids. The beds were comfortable. We got in late and the front desk staff was kind enough to put fresh bedding in our room for the sofa bed. The pool was temporarily closed, which was a big bummer for the kids. They were very disappointed. Breakfast was very good- the omelets were very tasty! There was a lot of people at breakfast, but they food was stocked well and plenty of seating. Overall, we thought this was a little gem. It's out of town, but very clean and comfortable. Definitely up to par if you like Holiday Inn Express."
"Stayed here for one night on our road trip. We wanted somewhere near the highway between Yellowstone and our next stop of Devils Tower. Very easy to find and lots of free parking. The girl at reception was unfortunately a bit surly and not very friendly and welcoming which is always a bit off-putting when you’re checking in. Our room was good, very clean with everything you need. I couldn’t get the phone in our room to work so I went to reception and the young man who must have taken over from “surly” was very helpful. He came up to our room immediately and changed the phone. There’s nothing much around in the area which we knew beforehand so we went for a burger in the nearby Burger King just a couple of minutes away. Buffet breakfast in the hotel was good. Would definitely recommend this hotel for an overnight stop but please Holiday Inn make sure your employees are friendly and welcoming!"
"We use holiday Inns a lot because you pretty much always get what you need , a clean room , pleasant and informative helpful staff , a good breakfast and the use of things like a pool. It is a little away from the centre of Billings but has a bar nearby and taxi services are good as well as Uber I guess. Accessis good for the the things you might light to see though like the Bighorn battle site and lots of really nice country"

"Comfortable and relaxing stay. I loved the set up of my suite. Breakfast was all about presentation and was carefully prepared. It was also early for a early Saturday morning departure. The evening social was an unexpected pleasure and was appreciated. I checked in online and a digital key was issued so I just went to my selected room. No hassle... great"
"Could not have chosen a better place to celebrate our 50th anniversary. Our room was spotless and exactly what we wanted, the staff was welcoming and friendly, the pool and hot tub area were clean and fresh. We will recommend this to friends and family."
"Loved the stay here. Staff was friendly and helpful. The room was huge, very clean and comfortable. Location was right where I wanted to be. Ample parking, quiet comfortable throughout, will stay here again next time I am in town."
