The hotel is awesome, it is the best hotel in the area, the swimming pool is beautiful, the beach is outside, the room is comfortable and clean, very high-end, the breakfast is a little less
- rowena6424
The hotel breakfast is a bit small, and the queue is going to be late. The most unreasonable place is that the hotel does not provide mineral water. You need to buy it yourself..., the room facilities are OK.

I stayed on Fasano Rio after staying in past in São Paulo and Belo Horizonte . Location is great and hotel as tipical Fasano . Dinner at Gerobis always good. Breakfast surprisingly Mediocre. Service and employees always very nice and responsive

The sunset from the Ipanema coast on the 8th floor and the pool with a view of the mountains was the best 💕 The Italian restaurant on the 1st floor is also delicious. It was great to see NHK on TV 💕

I have stayed at this property for 3 nights. I was meant to stay for 6 but I have decided to change plans. Overall I found my stay disappointing. Pre-arrival: good communication through WhatsApp and Booking.com On arrival: not a good experience - duplicate preauthorisation from my card for the 6 nights plus extra. The terminal did not produce a receipt and the receptionist insisted I have to put the card through again, although I have shown her an instant message received from the bank saying the transaction went through. At that point, I have been traveling for 18 hrs therefore I couldn’t spend more time arguing about it. I was reassured it was not a duplicate payment/preauthorisation and if any mistake, this will be sorted in the morning with “finance team”. Next day, I have tried to sort this with various reception staff to no avail. They simply denied there is an issue and refused to discuss the matter further. At one point, I was standing in front of the reception being ignored. I have contacted the bank in the UK and they sent me a confirmation that finally led them to cancel one of the duplicate payments. I have wasted an entire day of my holiday on this. Reception staff - with some exceptions- are very cold and distant, even arrogant. Very rare you see someone smile and make you feel welcome. No apology was offered to me for the mixup with the payment and the very unprofessional way this was dealt with. Staff enters the room way too much. Morning and evening service is expected, however “room service” knocked my door at 8-9pm every evening. If the door is not locked, they enter the room. I would advise to have the “do not disturb” sign on at all times, should you want some rest. Breakfast - not included. Even to use the coffee machine in the room, you have to pay for the capsules. It’s not about money, it just leaves a bad impression I think. The room - nice, good facilities, nice bed, shower and the beach view lovely from the large terrace. Panoramic view of Copacabana, as long as the room is on a higher floor. The pool/beach - haven’t used the pool but the beach is service is very good, friendly and helpful staff and comfortable sun beds. In conclusion, I won’t be returning. I have been to Rio many times and there are much better places to stay in various areas. Although Emiliano looks nice, they are a far cry from what I experienced in other hotels in terms of hospitality and adjusting to individual needs and expectations. I didn’t feel treated like a valued customer and I felt quite uncomfortable throughout my stay.

Arrival: a good experience, friendly, funny, warm and quick. Complimentary sparkling wine. They immediately tried to upsell to a junior suite, at an extra £250 per night. We declined. Room: It’s looks stunning. A decent size. Incredible shower, impractical bath. Zero zero zero space for clothes, bar a small hanging rail - this isn’t acceptable for a hotel or this standard. We ended up putting all our clothes on the sofa. Good technology. Great mirrors. Incredible towels. Lovely toiletries. Great cleaning attendants. Breakfast: good service, but slow. Food arrived before a simple glass of orange juice. Food average, plated awkwardly. Pastries stale. They did try to accommodate a fussy eater, which was nice. Gym: small, and ok equipped. No barbell and limited free weights. Friendly staff. Great views. Pool: nice view, comfortable seating. Service generally poor - low levels of English, no greeting (they immediately ask for your room number, like you shouldn’t be there). We ordered 3 different wines, and each time they came back saying it was out of stock. If that’s the case, they should know when you order. Luciano however, was a great friendly staff. We’d stay again, but wouldn’t want to pay rack rate. We’re still here, see how the next 24 hours goes 👍

If you want to experience a Rio with plush amenities and excellent service, this is the place for you ! There are so many thoughtful touches through the rooms and the property at large. I'm currently enjoying a full breakfast at the restaurant overlooking the terrace and I had to take a moment to highlight the cars and attention of Henrique & Fran . They welcomed me warmly, assisted me with translations and overall quite attentive, for me these things really matter. Highly recommend this charming coffees farm turned into a lush abode.

What a gorgeous hotel! We stayed here for 1 night, but wished we stayed longer. The hotel is really beautiful, and it was explained to us by the amazingly friendly staff that it use to be an old coffee factory. The bedroom was probably one of my favourite hotel bedrooms I have ever stayed in, with huge bed and amazing view of Santa Teresa to wake up to. The facilities were equally fab, with stunning (and most importantly) heated, swimming pool and on-site Michelin guide restaurant (which we went to and can highly recommend!)

The hotel is quite beautiful, which means I am quite satisfied with it. Especially when there are performances in the evening, it feels lively and has a vacation-like atmosphere. According to the standards of Golden Diamond, I think it is still a bit not good enough. For example, the breakfast restaurant is simple in decoration. The food is scattered and scattered, like a guest house

Fairmont is very new, with complete facilities and very good services. The swimming pool is very beautiful. I highly recommend this hotel to Chinese people visiting Rio.

We got an ocean view room with a hammock hanging by the big window to enjoy the beach view, watch the surfers and even the birds ….and many more. Compared to other hotels in the neighbourhood and in copacabana, Hotel Arpoador has real direct access to the beach (Ipanema)…just go through the restaurant and exit at the patio to the beach directly. All beaches in Brazil belongs to the public so in order to serve hotel guests better, this hotel has staff at the beach just outside their building, organising lounge chairs and sun umbrellas, only for hotel guests. First you go to the hotel reception to get towels and tickets for the lounge chairs etc. Once you show up on the beach with the tickets, the staff would quickly arrange everything for you. If you want to stay after their work hours (till 5pm), it is still ok, you just bring back the chairs and umbrellas to the patio. There’s always guard at the patio entrance. The breakfast included are wonderful (also have vegan options)….just wake up to the sound of the waves and enjoy your breakfast watching the morning mist among the mountains. If you do get up early, walk/run towards copacabana to watch the sunrise or do your morning yogas there (also a bunch of yoggies in the evening in the park area near the beach at the bottom of the fortress hill, around 6pm i think), or simply go up to the hotel roof top at 8:30am for free yoga classes. Free bike rental for two hours too. (Nice and easy bike lanes along the beaches) You can also go to the lagoon nearby, just go inland from the beach. Then enjoy a sip on the rooftop bar to watch the sunset. We had dinner also in the same restaurant (the only one) and it was ok (convenient on the first night after 5 hours drive from Paraty). Tried the other restaurants along the beach the next night (5 minutes walk, near Hotel Fasano), much nicer there. Staff are friendly and polite and answers a lot of our travel questions. We had a happy stay here.

We had a great stay at Hotel Arpoador. Compared to similar hotels (location/price), the hotel has been refurbished in trendy style, not too much room, ideal location (beach, sun set, view...) . To start with staff is very friendly. We had great tips, support from reception team (Thank you Michael! ). Breakfast are great and hearty (can be busy at the weekend with locals who come and enjoy brunch). Good beach service who look after your belongings, you can also enjoy bicycle from reception. No need to look for a rooftop elsewhere, you can enjoy a drink on 6th floor with top view...Standard rooms are nice design (would deserve more storage), rooms with sea view are great with balcony and hammock. I highly recommend this hotel!

To start with the one obvious limit of the property, it is in Barra de Tijuca which is a modern, residential, somewhat ”American” part of Rio. Because of the location alone, I wouldn't have booked this hotel for the entirety of my stay, because in many ways, areas like Ipanema and Copacabana are a lot more interesting and buzzy. That said, this is really the only negative I would have about this hotel and for anyone who doesn't mind transportation, Uber is cheap and reliable in Rio, and it will cost about BRL 30-60 to get from the hotel to all the more ”iconic” parts of Rio depending on time (and therefore on traffic) and will take about 30 minutes off peak. The hotel itself is beautiful, almost resort like. It is fairly large, the building has a fairly strange shape with multiple wings, though this also seems to guarantee that all rooms will get a view of sorts (the hotel ideally overlooks the Ocean on one side and a beautiful and serene lagoon on the other side). Common parts include a nice and clean beach where the hotel offers loungers and umbrellas, a beautiful swimming pool with several areas (toilets and sunscreen provided), a spa, and several restaurants. I was staying in a Club ocean front room and it was great. The room decor is very nice, beautiful bathroom with separate bath and shower, very nice balcony with a coffee table and two chairs, nespresso coffee machine, bottled water, lovely local Granado toiletries. Rooms are quiet and bed comfortable. The lounge is very nice too with rooms to both sides, and services for breakfast and cocktail hour in the evening. I had breakfast in the main Tano restaurant which was excellent (multiple stations for omelette, tapioca, pancakes, green juice, etc plenty of fresh fruit, excellent pastries, etc), lunch at the Canto restaurant and by the pool (more limited version of the same menu) which was excellent. I also had dinner at Shiso, their Japanese restaurant and I'll admit that I was a little bit more disappointed there despite great review (food was ample but did not feel very authentic, was very salty, and the rice itself was not very good). Maybe I was there on an off day as reviews are, as I said, very positive in general. In addition to everything else, staff everywhere was excellent from managers pre-arrival to people I interacted with throughout the stay. All in all, in a sometimes hit and miss Rio hotel scene, and once one accepts the less traditional location, this is a really excellent hotel and one I'll return to with great pleasure. PS: very minor point: mini bar had no prices indicated and proved fairly expensive. Also note that there is a resort fee of BRL75/day which I did not think was very clear

We loved everything about the hotel, staff is incredible, professional and friendly, went beyond everything we expected. They not only provided a birthday cake for my son’s birthday, they also put a candle on it and sang happy birthday
