"My husband and I had a lovely stay in September for 3 nights - a little break since our holidays had been cancelled due to COVID. We stayed in a junior suite, split level with separate lounge/tv area (there was a second tv in the actual bedroom). The hotel is lovely and the spa was great. The food was fabulous and would return again even just for a meal it was that good! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and really have to praise the staff who really went above and beyond to make our stay so enjoyable. From the reception, housekeeping, bar and restaurant staff to the lovely spa and golf team - the service was amazing and we would happily have another short break at Gleddoch again, hopefully soon! Given the current circumstances and restrictions imposed due to COVID, I felt very safe throughout our stay and everyone at Gleddoch really worked hard to ensure we were looked after with our safety in mind. Would highly recommend a visit and can’t wait to come back,"
"What a lovely place this is! My three friends and I had a weekend there and thoroughly enjoyed it. We had a large twin room (two double beds) and a Junior suite, which had seating enough for the four of us to have pre dinner drinks. The staff were very helpful and friendly, even when under the beginnings of the stresses related to the Coronavirus crisis. The dining room on the first morning was in a bit of disarray but it was fine the next day as they got into a different routine of not having self service. The evening meals were lovely on both occasions; my friend, who doesn't eat meat had enough options to keep her happy. We had our spa treatments - all lovely - and thoroughly enjoyed the pool, steam room etc. although I understand that for the time being these may not be available to guests. We had a lovely view over the Clyde across to Dumbarton from both rooms."
"Stayed here for a romantic getaway with my partner and had a wonderful stay. The treatments were brilliant and breakfast was good also. We had a suite and it was beautifully decorated but the best part was the wonderful view (and the Tunnocks bars in the tea tray. The only negative was that staff were miserable at breakfast and it was a quiet one so they should have made more of an effort with guests."

Ferry Road,Rhu, Rhu, Argyll and Bute, United Kingdom
"We visited this hotel in June 2019 for a family vacation with a 9 year old and a 12 year old in tow. It was my youngest's first international trip. So jet lag was already an issue for both kids. (We're from the U.S..) The town was nice and had good food. The hotel's breakfast was great as well. Unfortunately, after our first full day, my husband had a rather scary medical emergency complete with my children watching him collapse in our room. I had the children wait in the room with their father while I ran downstairs to ask the staff for help. I can't thank them enough for how they helped us. They helped me call emergency services. I had lots of questions because I'd never needed emergency services in another question. They were able to walk me through what would happen when they arrived. They volunteered to have a member of the staff take the kids downstairs and feed them dinner somewhere where they would be distracted by the tv rather than watching the EMTs work on their father. And while he was in the hospital and we were basically lost wandering around the hotel for the time he was in the hospital, they were so sweet. We used the backyard for my kids to throw or kick a ball around to distract them from the whole situation while waiting for a friend (Reinforcements! Yay!) to arrive to help me get my husband from point A to point B. The staff would check in on us and admitted they would ask each other if we were up and around or eating, etc. The caring and concern was evident from every single one of them. While it was the worst trip of our lives, it was the best hotel stay of our lives. I wanted to hug every single one of them on our way out....but didn't know if that was socially acceptable there. ;) Thank you to all the staff at this hotel. You treated a scared American and her family like they were your family. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. We will never forget you. (And my husband is 100% as well.)"
"My wife and I stayed for a night over Valentines weekend, having got married here a little over two years ago. The whole stay was perfect, from the warm welcome, comfortable room and friendly staff. For dinner there was a special Valentines menu and the food was amazing! Breakfast in the morning was made fresh to order and again it was really enjoyable. It was nice to see a few familiar faces still working there; Kevin was as friendly as ever upon checkout and this finished the stay off nicely! We'll definitely be back again in the future. Having mentioned that we had our wedding at the hotel, I just wanted to add that we can't recommend Rosslea Hall highly enough - our day was perfect in every way! If you are thinking of holding your wedding here then please do, they will do an amazing job for you!"
"I stayed in the Rosslea with my two daughters for a long weekend and we had a great time. We had the car park view, but didn't hear any bells at all. Although that might have been the Tennants. Had a family room and I drew the short straw with a very creaky and not very comfy sofa bed, but my girls were fine in the king size (grrrr). We loved the breakfasts cooked to order and it felt very Covid safe. Ask Kevin if you want to go for a walk - he's full of local knowledge!!"

"Very good value hotel, the room is large, the facilities are very good, very lucky, we are assigned to the G floor room. Breakfast is also good, there are various grades from 8.89-13.89 fat people according to their favorite point. Parking is also free, the hotel has an oversized BAR, and all in the afternoon are people. Not far from the town center, you can walk."

"I stayed for business for a couple of nights. The staff were great friendly and helpful. I ate in the restaurant which had good food, good beer and good value for money. To be honest Inverkip itself is not an attractive place to stay but if you need to stay in the area this is the place. I did spot they were washing the menus and staff wore face masks, I got my temperature checked on arrival and excess items had been removed from the room which was a giant plus for me"
"Trapped at home for 12 weeks. Thank you Covid. First non home produced meal. Take away Fishand chips on a Friday evening eaten at home with an expensive Californian Chardonnay we had been keeping for a special occasion. Crisp batter, lovely fish and plenty of chips. See you next week and for as long as this goes on."
"We thoroughly enjoyed our evening meal at Inverkip Hotel restaurant. The staff particularly were friendly and attentive. I am a coeliac and there were gluten free options available and adjustments that could be made easily seen on the menu. Definitely would recommend if you’re in the area! "

"Can’t say I’d be rushing back to The Park Hotel. We have become a bit picky on cleanliness after passed experiences at hotels. We pulled back the sheets to find an appallingly stained mattress. After showing the member of staff on reception, we were offered another room. This didn’t have a mattress in the same state as the previous. However on bed time. We found it was well past it’s serviceable life. The springs were compressed & there was lumps all over. Not a pleasant nights sleep. The room it’s self was dated. It looked clean, but had a strange fusty smell. It was like cleaning products were hiding, more than making it feel fresh. We went to sleep listening to another rooms TV, also them breaking wind. Breakfast was simply OK. Budget sausage, black pudding & potato cakes that had been left heated, as they were greasy. To us a B&B needs to hit two key factors. Bed & Breakfast. The Park Hotel didn’t do it for us on either. We initially booked The Park Hotel based on reviews over price. It now amazes us on how this place has achieved all the positive reviews both here, & on other review sites. We don’t except 5* on a budget, but we do expect cleanliness. What really was an insult, was we received an email. Our online booking agent sent us a email, asking on how good the check in was. After we filled in the questions. We received an email, basically Telling us, we should look for another hotel if weren’t happy. "
"We have just returned from a two night stay at The Park Hotel. Our reason for visiting Dunoon was to re-visit the locations of family holidays in my childhood. We could not have chosen a more perfect hotel. The room was spacious; comfortable ; and most importantly, clean. Our room had a fabulous view across the Clyde to the Cloch lighthouse and Gourock. We had dinner and breakfast both days and were spoilt for choice. The food was beautifuly cooked and very reasonably priced. Not only were we blessed with lovely weather but great accommodation which we would certainly recommend to others wishing to explore the Cowal Peninsula. We wish Claudiu and Mariana all the best in weathering these uncertain (viral) times and thank them for their hospitality."
"A fabulous hotel. All the staff were so helpful. Well done to the chef as the food was delicious - for dinner we all had different things - strogonoff, chicken, fish - which were all scrummy and could match any top market restaurant. Breakfast was also delicious, with plentiful portions which set us up for the day as didn't need any lunch. They coped brilliantly with a dairy intolerance too and had soya milk for the porridge/coffee. On street parking not a problem at all as space plentiful and a quiet residential street. The bed was so comfy, lovely bath and the overhead shower was so powerful. Everything was spotless."

"This is a luxury hotel in the truest sense of the word. BEST WESTERN Argyll Hotel is a class apart, thanks to splendid panoramic views of the River Clyde, stylish accommodation in the heart of Dunoon and traditional Scottish hospitality! The food's as impressive as the service here, and you'll experience both in our fine two restaurants as you enjoy Italian cuisine or local fayre. With 33 individually styled bedrooms mean there's more than enough room for you and yours night and day, while the nearby ferry terminal will give you the opportunity to explore Gourock. Great rail connections will give you a fast track to all of Central Scotland too, so day trips and walking expeditions are easy to enjoy. We can't wait to welcome you with open arms... see you soon in Dunoon! Enjoy your stay."

"Held my 60th party in the Tontine last night and it was a brilliant night. From the initial organisation right through to end of the party the staff couldn’t have done any more for us. Everyone had a fantastic time and enjoyed the food, especially the steak pie, some even had double helpings. I would recommend this hotel especially if you are looking for somewhere to hold a function. The Duty Manager was on hand to make sure that everything was in place and along with the staff provided a friendly and efficient service! Thank you to everyone involved for making my night special, everyone had a great time and were very complimentary about the food, venue and staff!"
"Stayed 1 night in deference to the premier inn. First obstacle was dragging my suitcase, briefcase and measuring equiipment up flights of stairs as no lift was available tho reception did offer to assist. I found the room initially appealing all bar the television which may be flat screen but not much bigger than a laptop and certainly not a smart screen. On closer inspection I found the duvet cover had holes and was threadbare. Reception replaced the cover and I was left to remake my own bed but discovered the replacement cover still had holes and was spotted with stains. Having arrived late the prospect of further making my bed was too much and I left it. Given this is rated as a 3 star hotel the bent curtain rail and wonky lamp standard coupled with the television and linen left me sorely disappointed. I did convey this to the management and all I got was thanks for my feedback. Breakfast menu comprehensive tho at £12.00 I'm not sure of the value. Moral of the story stick to hotels that are national and attain a standard level of service and maintenance. "
"We stayed at the Tontine Hotel on Friday and Saturday last week and we booked the Adam Room for my parents’ Diamond Wedding celebrations on the Saturday evening. The hotel was well located with street parking, the facilities were good and the food was excellent. The hotel staff were friendly and extremely helpful with the arrangements for the Dinner and drinks afterwards. Some of our guests stayed a little longer than we expected but they were all treated very well by the staff. We had a fantastic weekend and the Saturday was a night to remember so I would like to thank the team for making our stay so memorable."

"A nice hotel owned by two brothers who really want to make you feel at home and they did. We where welcomed by one of them in Scots dialect. Wonderful! The bar has a cozy atmosphere and we had a good evening there. The room was good. By the time we where there the owners where still improving the hotel. Dinner was excellent, so was also the breakfast. I really regretted we only had one single night in this hotel. I would have loved to have stayed there all week."
"I'd love to be able to say we had a great stay as this was a Christmas gift from our daughters. Unfortunately I can't! The manager Richard was welcoming enough and the bed was large and comfortable but unfortunately the positives end there. The hotel has allegedly had a considerable amount of money spent on it but I failed to see where any of that money was spent. The room was large and was heated by a small portable electric heater. The bathroom towel rail was defective and the water bathroom was very cold! There was someone else's hair in the plug hole, there were holes in the walls which were poorly filled and the shower had to be held in your hand as the bracket was defective. We had dinner at the hotel and the food was very overpriced for what we had but thankfully it was included in the deal we had. If I was paying I'd have been really disappointed. Breakfast was mediocre at best. "
"Paid £60 +£20 supplement for sea view .Room was less than adequate as there was no wardrobe..a shelf with a hanger rail ,so don't take much luggage . TV remote wasn't working ,we informed a young waitress and eventually she found batteries ...it still didn't work . Told the manager...he didn't bother. Hot water took over 25 minutes to get hot .. shower head wouldn't sit straight so we had to hold it while showering .we expected a set table in the dining area for dinner but were told dinner would be in the bar area . No table cover.. If I wanted a bar meal u would have went to a bar in town . Fish, chips and peas were obviously frozen .Drink prices is not reasonable . No entertainment whatsoever ...nothing...Ordered porridge and could not eat it . Looked like one big lump of grey lumpy matter. Even the young waitress looked embarrassed. Breakfast was served from I am until 10 am.. apart from the second..and last day of our stay when we got nothing .. as not one member of staff could be found when we went down at 8-20 am .I could write more but but judging by other reviews ,it would be pointless..don't bring a credit card ...also pointless .point for shaver wasnt working .. no change of towels .. no cleaners ..They must write their own reviews because it is by far the worst hotel I have had the misfortune to stay in ...stained tea cups ..damp sugar ....ad infinitum.. very view redeeming features .. a bit like the town itself...dead on its feet"
