We stayed in one of your beautiful rooms - Whitley Neil - last night for a dinner, bed and breakfast getaway and what a brilliant time we had! The food was incredible (stunning flavour and presentation!) the room was warm and so well equipped (you've literally thought of everything from corkscrew to hairdryer!) but most of all we loved the incredible welcome. We felt right at home from the moment we arrived and only wish we could have stayed longer, we both said we're booking two nights next time! Alex there aren't many pub owners like yourself these days, who work so hard alongside the team of staff whilst still lighting up the room with banter and a smile. Hugh is also a huge credit to your pub and hotel. He greeted us with a lovely and friendly manner on arrival and later asked us after dinner, ”Have you been well looked after?” That question summed up our stay. No corny scripted service, just a beautifully genuine experience of great food, great service and a great sleep - what more can you want? Thanks guys, we'll be back!

Me and my hustaband visited this Sunday for one of the amazing Sunday roasts that this great pub is known for . Once again every table was full and the atmosphere was great . The staff were all their usually friendly selves and we felt covid safe throughout . The Monday was our wedding anniversary so we went back the following evening for dinner . Two meals in two days , why not ! We love this pub . Dinner was delicious as always and hard to decide what to choose to eat . My husband had the fish platter and I chose from the sharing plates which you can have several starter sides . I had crispy shredded beef , cauliflower pakoras and spicy prawn salad . We finished with sharing a sticky toffee pudding . Can’t wait to our next visit

Spent a night here as an add-on for an event at city hall. I've visited the spa & health club previously & thought I'd make an afternoon of it before the event as I work locally. Check in is Usually 3pm however, after arriving at 1:20pm and politely asking if I was able to check in now I was very kindly allowed access to the room by the friendly, helpful Wiktoria on reception. This allowed me to chill out a bit after an early start & get changed to use the pool & saunas as I waited for my friend to arrive. Room had a nice view of the old town hall, twin beds, a mini fridge for milk & wine and rather helpfully, a separate bath and shower which is rare these days. Fairly clean however, when I moved one of the beds there was a thick layer of dust beneath it. Also the carpets & furniture are looking very tired now. It could certainly do with a freshen up. Also, no hand soap by the sink however, there was body lotion. The windows do not open but there is temperature control. Personally I found this rather noisy and had to switch it off to sleep. Spa area is okay but again, looking rather tired with old carpets and lots of dark wood. It's rather maze-like layout isn't be best either. Lockers are now available poolside for guests with a self locking system. Pool was clean enough with lots of loungers and chairs to relax. Sauna, ice room and steam rooms are for some reason unlit which I find interesting.... It's a mainly wet area and chances of slipping are highly likely so....maybe a little light? Generally clean though and not too busy being midweek. Lifts were out of service when we returned to the room late that evening, so we begrudgingly climbed the stairs to bed and hoped that they'd be fixed in the morning when we left with our heavy bags. Unfortunately they were not, and so a trudge against down the stairs was required. Not the best. Overall a nice central location but at £96 midweek (booked in advance via booking.com on a rewards rate) I think it's a bit steep for a substandard room and mediocre health club. Would I stay again? Yes, but for half the price.

Had a fantastic weekend break at this hotel. Room was clean and very spacious. The bed was very comfortable, we both slept well. All members of staff were very approachable. Breakfast was amazing with lots of choice, Tea and coffee provided as soon as you were seated. All hot food was replenished immediately, the lady chef was very bubbly. Th e manager (Sarah) i think she was called was very helpful when we asked a few questions about the local area. I would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again as it is also very central. Thank you for a great stay.

Stayed for three nights in August. Cannot praise The View highly enough. The staff were very welcoming on arrival and when we got to our room it was amazing. The rooms are huge, large bathroom. lovely comfortable bed, a great seating area with sofa and armchair and a private terrace to sit and admire the wonderful view. Everything was spotlessly clean. A great bonus was the fridge with a bottle of fresh milk and bottled water that was replenished daily. Breakfast choice was excellent, service and food quality was superb. We dined at the White Horse and the choice was good, with high quality food beautifully cooked and presented. The staff at the View and the White Horse were brilliant. Overall this was one of the best hotels we have stayed at and we will be back.

Well what can I say we stayed at this beautiful place last week it was amazing very quite and nothing too much trouble. The room was very clean and smelt amazing the food was lovely, the first night we had a meal in the restaurant and it was lovely the sticky toffee with salted caramel ice cream was delicious, everything seemed to have been thought of we had milk in the fridge when we arrived for a much needed cup of tea. Would definitely recommend staying here and would go back if we ever stayed in that area again.

We were visiting Sheffield on my birthday so treated ourselves to a night at Brocco. We stayed in Nightjar’s Nest and had an excellent dinner in the restaurant. The bedroom had underfloor heating but it was off and quite chilly in the evening, so we were surprised when at 05:30 the room was so hot that it woke us. After turning thermostat down and opening a window we managed a bit more sleep. At 07:20 we were woken again by a knock at the door. We ignored it but it persisted. On opening the door there was a fellow-guest who said she was looking for “reception”. Bit late for panto season … but it was behind her! We told the person on reception about our disturbed sleep and got only an apology and a comment that “the night porter usually sorts out the heating but he’s on holiday”. Given the cost of the room this response was disappointing and seems out of line with the high standards in the restaurant. (Complimentary breakfast would have seemed the very least you could have offered.)

Really nice hotel, nicely styled, comfortable room, great shower and liked the little touches eg complimentary Prosecco at 5.30pm, home made cakes in the room, fresh milk etc. Also good location close to bars and restaurants and easy access to Peak District. However, really let down by breakfast - if it is an extra charge then I do expect it to be good - small sausage sandwich that was £9.50, no bagels and alternative brioche that was offered was dry. Eggs Benedict - muffin stale and bacon had gristle, again small portion. Felt at nearly £50, as we wanted 2 coffees each, really poor. It was held out as a great location for brunch so really expected more. I did mention on check out and response was sorry and that it would be fed back - it did feel over the weekend that there wasn't anyone experienced around. Parking available behind or at nearby church.

Had a fantastic stay for a birthday treat. My self and my friend stayed in a mezzanine suite and it was perfect!! We were greeted by Ella at reception, she was really friendly and helpful. After checking in we nipped to the bar for a quick drink before going out for our meal and the team member on the bar (sorry I didn't get his name) was again really friendly. The room was clean and spacious! The location of the hotel is fantastic. But the main thing for me was the customer service. Each team member we encountered was polite and welcoming. We will definitely be back soon!!

I travel for work and stay in different hotels around the UK every week, the Leopold in Sheffield is one of my favourites. It’s refreshing to stay in a smaller hotel which isn’t part of a huge chain. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with great beds and bedding. The staff are always very pleasant. It’s a short walk (uphill) from the station and in an excellent location close to shops and restaurants.

I have used this place a few times for groups. This time they really fell short. There is no one in charge. Very difficult to speak to a manager. Issues with the restaurant. Short staffed. Food was too salty. Soya sauce based dishes were not edible. No one asked when sent back unfinished if there was an issue. Only robots delivering food and very inexperience staff. Couldn't order more drinks in good time. Breakfast is buffet and is very basic. Ok. It is clean. However, for £250 a room I think that it is overpriced. Thank goodness for Trip.com much better rate 2 days before the event. Baths do not drain. Taps and fittings are loose or not finished properly. Poor customer service overall, despite having 5 rooms in our group and dinner for 10. Said they would call me back. Which they have not. That was after speaking to a man who said that he was not the manager, had only worked there for 8 weeks, yet told me that I was not familiar with the service industries! Such a shame. Will have to find somewhere else next time. Not a hint of a smile or an apology or anything to say that he would feed back. 🤷

Where do start. On arrival was told the hotel had no hot water and the system had gone down. Not much option when checking in at 8pm. Would have been appreciated a phone call or email advising earlier in the day. The room was to a good standard and spacious, a mini fridge would have been good. Toilet was high in its sitting position and having a cold shower bath water did not empty quickly. Bar facilities were good with a selection of beers and wines and spirits. Corridors were dark and spot lights as energy saving good didn't help to light up environment. Breakfast was excellent with the manger lady being very helpful and food was cooked to a very good standard. Operations manager was very helpful. Car parking seems strected. Not the best of stays for our first visit.

I would highly recommend the Crowne Plaza Victoria for any conference or large-scale event; the team here, in particular Emily Evans, were friendly, outgoing and went above and beyond to ensure that our conference ran smoothly. Before arriving at the hotel, the team was in constant contact with our team to ensure that our delegates rooms were booked, our menu selection for our formal dinner was confirmed and that dietary requirements would be met. Furthermore, after highlighting that some of our delegates would be observing Ramadan, the team not only provided packed breakfasts for these delegates so that they could continue to take part in suhoor, signage was created to highlight where the prayer room would be over the course of our stay. As the Crowne Plaza Victoria is a hotel there will be other guests who have booked their rooms months in advance, once the team realised that we would be six rooms short, the hotel across the road was contacted to enquire whether they had any availability to accommodate our overflow. Once confirmed that they did, all we had to do was inform the team who would be staying at this hotel and their dietary requirements; the fact that the Crowne Plaza was so proactive in providing a solution to a problem we were not aware of was so greatly appreciated and highlighted to us that this was a venue/ team which wanted to ensure that we and our delegates had the best time with them before we had even arrived! In addition to this, the team’s dedication to ensuring that our conference ran smoothly was further highlighted by Emily physically moving the tables all by herself when we realised that the position of certain tables obstructed the view of the presentation. All requests such as; additional labelling for food, temperature control of the main room were completed swiftly, even by hotel staff whom were not directly assigned to looking after us. All the food provided was amazing, whether it was lunch, snacks or the food served at dinner, you could tell that an incredible amount of detail was given. I could not recommend this hotel and team enough!

Although the grounds of the hotel isn’t perhaps as we had expected based on the images, there is lots of parking and the hotel is closer than expected to the city centre. The welcome from the staff on the reception was warm and attentive and they have good knowledge of the local area. The reception was clean and presentable, as was the hotel. Our room was beautiful, clean and comfortable, everything we required for an overnight stay. The refurbishment has made the rooms feel modern and stylish whilst the hotel itself is interesting in its the decor and layout reflecting the history of the building. Nicky and Matthew, who were the two people we had most contact with, put customer service first and we felt were proud of their work and went the extra mile to delight customers. Breakfast offered a good mix of traditional and continental and was of a good standard, with staff again warm and welcoming. The restaurant was light and airy and of good decoration. We will book this hotel again when visiting Sheffield. The building, facilities, staff, location and price made for a lovely experience. Thank you.

We stayed for one night Sat 11th Feb after purchasing the Valentine's package with tasting menu. Lovely bar and atmosphere, staff were great and on the ball and there was actually music on which made it an enjoyable atmosphere, as many hotel bars seem to lack music and atmosphere. We enjoyed our 5 course tasting menu and the man who brought out each course was very knowledgeable with the product/ingredients used and the process it went through to get to plate as in cured and seasoned and cooked etc. Room was a good size, comfy bed and quiet which was great. Would stay again.

Amazing hotel. Room very spacious, bed very comfortable and service excellent. Everything you need for a break provided. Breakfast was excellent, none of your cold buffet cooked that most hotels offer, it’s all cooked fresh to order. Staff were very welcoming and nothing to much trouble. Absolutely a awesome place and will definitely return.
