"My husband and I returned to Chilston Park exactly five months after we were married at the hotel. We had champagne afternoon tea and an overnight stay with dinner and breakfast. We were totally blown away by the reception we received upon our return. Each and every member of staff treated us as if we were the only guests in the hotel (and the hotel was pretty busy on this particular day/night); they were all so attentive to our needs, incredibly professional and overall exceptionally friendly. We had the pleasure of meeting the manager of the hotel, Simon Barker, who himself demonstrated a very friendly, approachable and professional manner. Traits which appear to be filtered throughout the hotel. Our recent stay at Chilston Park reaffirmed why we chose the venue to host our wedding in September 2019. This will be the fourth time that we have stayed at the hotel over the past 2.5 years and each stay has earned a five star rating from us. We simply can not fault the venue or staff."
"First visit to this Hotel and it certainly lived up to all the previous reviews and some. Extremely friendly and welcoming staff from the minute we arrived. Our room was large and tastefully decorated with high quality pieces and a really comfy bed! All the communal parts of the hotel are stunning including the restaurant. We ate dinner there last night and it was superb, as was breakfast with a good choice of continental to start and a choice of cooked food, cooked to order. The grounds are lovely too and worth a wander. We we're lucky with the weather do had a good walk round after breakfast. Will certainly return to this hotel in the future"
"Stunning place! Amazing staff they can’t do enough for you and really go above and beyond for you to enjoy your stay! Always greeted with a warm welcome from Russel. Food is fantastic and a beautiful dining area. The Tudor suite is our favourite a gorgeous room full of charm and character and the bed is like sleeping in a huge marshmallow! The best sleep we have ever had! The Reynolds suite which we stayed second time around has a beautiful view and a generous size. We have stayed in a few hotels around the uk but this is definitely my favourite place to relax and unwind and know I’ll be taken care off. Thankyou so much ❤️"

"Due to covid, this was a last minute booking, and we went for a spa weekend, which was not cheap but included extra meals and a late stay on sunday. We rang the hotel before arriving to check accessibilty information, and were told to book the newer section, as it has a lift. A lovely hotel, an hour from home, and the staff were excellent. It also had its downsides, e.g. the dinner tables were not properly social distanced, although we were OK. Just saying, profit before safety. The room we had was an executive suite, and quite nice. The toilet was broken the entire time we were there,as was the key to get into the room an the Sunday afternoon. We were unable to get into the room, and my wife had to run downstairs to get a key whilst I wet myself outside the room. It is things like this you remember. The other issue was the food. The restaurant was quite cheap to eat on the Sunday, about £21? I have not seen the bills. We were entitled to an evening meal and Sunday lunch as part of our package. We also ate here on the Friday evening. The food was avant garde, it was OK. The meal on Saturday night was the same menu, but I did not actually like the start or the main course, and returned these untouched. The free olives were also disgusting. I ate the bread. The hotel was great, and they would not charge these meals to the bill. When we received the bill, the Friday meal was charged in full, the Saturday meal was included in the weekend price. Enough said. I would not want to revisit this place. On a plus side, the pool is beautiful. Kevan Wilding"
"Enjoyed an excellent meal, professionally served by well trained and smartly dressed waiters/waitresses. The meal was attractively presented, served promptly and HOT to the table. It was so enjoyable. Thanks to all the chefs and waitstaff. The topic was about the Strictly Ballroom costume designers and talked about how the designs are imagined, designed, sewn and presented over just a few days! Lots of dresses for us to see and handle. The talk by the two Directors about the company and all their activities was fascinating and amusing. Thank you both, and thank to the MC/Maitre d' for bringing it all together. Would definitely recommend and attend a similar function again. A really enjoyable afternoon."
"The whole weekend was great. The food in the restaurant was delicious, the staff were very attentive. It's difficult for people to get used to when you can't simply turn up at the spa/gym at any time you like but the staff at the hotel did their best to ensure that guests were allocated a convenient time to use the facilities there. If you are looking for a nice break at a lovely hotel, then the Hempstead House was perfect."

The Plough Inn, Stalisfield, Kent, United Kingdom
"I stayed in this lovely dog friendly inn with my two humans. They say I should write the review as they chose it because I could come with them. As a cocker spaniel, it can be difficult to find decent places to stay. The Plough has bedrooms in a separate building, they are lovely big rooms with an upstairs where I wasn’t allowed, but that’s ok as I’m not allowed upstairs at home, this means that my bathroom was just outside the front door in the huge garden, which was very convenient, although my humans did have to come with me to make sure I left no sign on the grass. They had a nice dining space for me in the room and some lovely biccies, which were much appreciated. My humans had their breakfast brought to the room which they say was very nice - apologies for barking at the nice man who brought it. We went to the pub both nights for the humans to have dinner which they said was delicious, although they wouldn’t share any with me, they also say the wine and beer was good too. My human mummy said that more non-meat options on the menu would have been good, but she was very impressed when the chef was able to make the burger into a halloumi version, she said it was the best she’s had and reckons it should be on the menu. Human daddy enjoyed the pie, he does like a proper pie (none of that lid only nonsense) and he kept going on about how nice this one was. I enjoyed the open fire in the pub, it was nice and cosy after we walked for 12 miles through the local fields (although I walked much further as there were lots of sniffs to enjoy). All in all I would come back, and recommend The Plough to all my four footed friends and their humans."
"We were delighted with our room here and the welcome for our dog. The area is very pretty and the pub itself quaint. The food is good. We had a bit of a bad experience because we were seated at what is probably normally a much sought after little snug. But because the pub was packed we felt suffocated and almost buried by people blocking our way out. The owner very quickly apologized the next day and acknowledged that they could have seated us and our dog better given the event on in the pub that night. Would have preferred breakfast in the restaurant rather than our room but mainly because dogs cannot come up to where breakfast is set up in the room. We will definitely return when we have the opportunity and can recommend it as a comfortable and pretty place to stay and eat."
"We stayed here one night on our way down to Cornwall and we (a couple with one dog) can REALLY recommend it. Super cozy cottage-like two-floor rooms with a warm hello and treats for our dog. Nice pub, too. And you can walk directely into the woods, just some minutes walking distance away. We are going to stay at the Plough Inn on our way back home again."

"We booked at random having struggled to find anywhere for a last minute break and were very pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Yes, parts of it could do with upgrading but we had booked a Feature Room based on the pictures on the website and we got the Crimson Room which has the most amazingly comfortable Four Poster bed, a lovely bathroom with double ended claw footed bath and super wonky floors. Sharon, who checked us in, and looked after us in the restaurant on the first night was super friendly and went out of her way to help. Food in the restaurant was tasty and plentiful both at dinner and at breakfast time. Extra bottles of water were provided for our room for overnight at our request. We slept well, the bed was very comfortable and although there were drinkers in the bar and outside on the street the noise quietened down early and didn't disturb us. Our only gripes really were the size of the car park - totally inadequate - and getting charged £5.20 for a pint of Coke. We were told this was on tap but it was charged as 16 ounces plus a 330ml bottle."
"I booked the winter deal, which was 3 course dinner for 2, bed and full English breakfast the following morning. We had the warmest of welcomes. Lovely room, nice comfortable bed. We had a fabulous dinner, food was delicious. The waitress was a gem ( a lady with mid length blonde hair, very chatty and sweet), she wished me a happy birthday and nothing was too much trouble for her. We had our dessert in the snug, a lovely cosy little corner of the pub. She had told us about how amazing the breakfasts were there. My husband and I couldn't wait to try it in the morning. We went down to have breakfast, to be told that the power in the kitchen had gone and there was no cooked breakfast available. All there was was tea, coffee, cereal and toast and a bowl of fruit on a help yourself basis. The waitress did apologise. Just such a shame that we never got to try it. Ended up going out for breakfast after we checked out. Adding more cost to our night away. Real shame. "
"We stayed at this hotel as it’s not too far from Benenden Hospital. We were checked in by Bryony who was very friendly and helpful. Our room was very comfortable cosy and warm, and our dinner that evening was very very tasty. It’s a very old hotel with a lot of history and a nice friendly bar area. I dropped my husband off at the hospital early and then returned for my wonderful breakfast. Again all the staff were very friendly and helpful as I was on my own. The hotel is based within the small town which I walked around the next day. Parking is ok but can be quite busy if a lot of guests are staying. A great hotel the food is brilliant and the staff very much to their credit."

"Stayed two nights here while exploring Kent National Trust properties and Rye town. Beautifully appointed with double bed and sofa, and clean and bright bathroom with shower. Breakfast provided and small fridge was very handy for chilling wine and keeping milk cold. Several local pubs nearby including The Bull Inn next door. Quiet location ideal for our purpose. Great find and will definitely return if we visit this part of the country again."
"Had booked the hotel as had been gifted a wine tasting at Chapel Down. Accommodation was really lovely, big rooms that appear to have been recently renovated with everything you need for a great nights sleep. Super easy check in process too. - Taxis are a little on the pricey side at £20 each way to the Chapel Down vineyard - make sure you book in advance - Check directly with the local pubs to see if they are open (don't rely on website opening times!) if you're hoping to eat in the village"
"Booked a lodge for a bit of post operative recovery. Just what I needed, clean, comfortable and quiet. The room and bathroom are well appointed. The breakfast goodies were much appreciated and very tasty. Would definitely recommend and will stay again."

"This is not our first visit to 'Little Silver' over the years but is only the second time we have stayed during the warmer Summer weather. We booked via email with the hotel for 2 nights, on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis. Prior to our arrival, the hotel emailed through their 'Covid-19' measures that have been put in place to ensure that the Government guide lines are adhered to. Upon our arrival we were greeted by Mikki on reception who showed us to our ground-floor four-poster en-suite room. Mikki also explained the 'one-way' system operating in the hotel to ensure that 'social distancing' was maintained for the hotel guests and staff. We found our room clean and tidy with fresh towels and bed linen. In the evening we were greeted by Russell and served in the 'Oaks Restaurant' on the first evening by Toby. We found the menu perfectly adequate, with something for all tastes. Our meal was served promptly, well presented and cooked. In the morning, breakfast was again served in the 'Oaks Restaurant', with friendly attentive staff on hand. Again, our choice of breakfast was prompt, well cooked and presented to our table. In short, will we return to 'Little Silver', our answer being 'yes!' Many thanks to Russell, Mikki and all the other hotel staff who made our stay very enjoyable. "
"My wife and I were bought a night stop and wine tasting voucher for Christmas. Due to CV-19, we were only able to take this in October. Whilst the hotel is on a relatively busy road, there is ample parking space and we didn’t hear the traffic with the windows closed. The CV-19 safety precautions were all excellent. The staff were all welcoming and attentive. The food was also very impressive. Full english breakfast is probably one of the tastiest I’ve had in many years! Evening meals are also tasty and provide good VFM (cheese board, although only 3 cheeses, offered a good size portion and was beautiful!). "
"The Little Silver Country Hotel is well appointed both inside and out. It's located in a relaxing setting, with free parking. The Hotel is extremely clean and comfortable. The bedroom was ideal with a stunning bathroom. The restaurant is excellent. Breakfast is superb. The staff are helpful, friendly & professional. A special mention needs to be made of Charli in reception for providing excellent customer service, and Russel In the restaurant.
A great place to stay. If you choose this hotel you won't be disappointed!"

"A pleasant hotel. Have known it for years when it used to be The Stakis Hotel and it could have gone the way of being very dated, but it hasn't. Friendly staff, comfortable rooms and a good breakfast. "

"Ideal location for us visiting friends living nearby - with the room meeting our changing and sleeping needs. Room was slightly chilly when we arrived as thermostat wound down, but soon warmed up - and there is a portable electric heater provided should you feel the need to use it. Room was clean and bed very comfortable - all at excellent value!"
"Would definitely use this hotel again if in the area. Extremely friendly and helpful staff in the hotel and 'adjoining' pub. Good value. Good food in the Brewer's Fayre pub and all very reasonably priced. Excellent breakfast choice. Reletively quiet despite location and popularity as seemed quite full. Extremely busy road to access from hotel, especially peak periods. Dangerous if need to turn right!"
"We had two rooms, one for family and one double. Both rooms were clean and comfortable although the family room was a bit cold when we first arrived. Beds were very comfortable, although one of our teenagers didn't like her put up bed. But it was only for one night. "
