"Had a short stay in this Grade ll listed building. The Lodge Stands in its own grounds, which during summer will look lovely when the leaves on the trees are out. A lovely warm welcome when we arrived, and the room a very good size. Everything was very clean. Breakfast was great, you could have had as much as you wanted, and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. We had evening meals there as well, and they were excellent. Plenty of room in the car park, but it is a quiet time of year. The Lodge is not far from Present, and we also drove to Lytham St Anne for the day. Would definitely stay again."
"We enjoyed our stay at this hotel and our meal, so my comments are meant to be constructive, not critical! It feels very close to being much better. The hotel looks imposing, at the end of a long private drive, with a large car park out front. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Our room (#6) was very large, overlooking the car park, but it wasn't noisy. A couple of quirks- very clean where they could see, but moving one of the armchairs slightly showed that it hadn't be swept (lots of crisps). The beds looked nice, but the sheets were worn and frayed in places. Dinner was lovely ...when it arrived. We sat alone in the dining room for 25 mins before the 4th member of staff who looked in actually stopped and gave us menus! But I was very impressed with the food - happily eat here again. All in all, I would recommend staying and supporting the hotel - the staff deserve it at the very least."
"I was the mother of the bride ( daughter had her wedding there 16th FEB 2020 ), i had been very ill that day and missed nearly all her wedding. So i needed a good nights sleep, plus i had my grandchildren in with me aged 4, the room was very hot so i opened the window about 2inches wide to let some air in for us all. The curtains where heavy so they where NOT blowing around. BUT the room door was banging ALL night i tried putting towels behind the door to stop this and chair. This could NOT of been from the room it self as the heavy curtains where NOT moving. My grandchildren where awake with me as they thought someone was coming in. So in the end i had to wake my daughter up at 6am ( the bride in her bridal suite ) to let her know and take her son back. Now i had informed Susan the hotel manager of this that we had an unsatisfactory stay and no sleep due to a fault with the door. She had someone look at it and thanks for letting her know and offered me cream tea as a good will gesture which i declined. As i stated to Susan these doors should be secure and NOT move there is play in the door and moves. When you are paying £109 for a good nights sleep ( after being ill all day ) that's something that didn't happen that night. I have asked for a refund £109 cash as i paid, but Susan has said no !! I stop in a lot of hotels and have never had this problem before with the room door as they have always been secure due to fire regulations, Farington Lodge and Susan ( HM ) thanks for giving us the worst nights sleep ever !! SORRY SHOULD SAY NO SLEEP !! Thanks for your great customer service ( NOT ) and like one person has mentioned your staff need to smile. A smile goes a long way !!"

"Having stayed at other village hotels we got a very good deal and deiceed to try Warrington. Firstly lots of parking and this is free. As with most village hotels self check in, which was easy. Room was nice and very well decorated. All the amenities needed. Including iron etc. Bar was busy but first football weekend. Good location and close to town. Would highly recommend. "
"Not a great experience at this hotel at all. When I arrived we found they had double booked our room, our family room was no longer available so we were given a double with a rock hard sofa bed. Due to COVID we needed to book a slot to use the pool the next morning so we spent 15mins at the pool reception going through the process.  When we arrived the next morning they had lost our booking.  Luckily others had not turned up so we took their place The worst part of the stay was when we arrived for breakfast at 9, we were told rather rudely, that breakfast had ended at 9 - shouted from across the room.  When we complained at reception we found other guests complaining about the same thing - it turns out despite the notices in the hotel that breakfast is served until 9:30 on weekends, their hotel staff failed to tell anyone things had changed.  We were all offered a refund.  As I booked through Hotels.com they told me a manager would sort it out later in the day so not to worry. A few days later I chased Hotels.com for the refund and they advised that upon speaking with the hotel manager they were told it's against hotel policy to offer this kind of refund but Village would offer us free breakfast if we book again!   Despite Village Hotel being useless I must say Hotels.com were great and refunded me the £38 breakfast charge I had paid despite Village Hotel refusing.  Whilst I'd recommend Hotels.com I would go out of my way not to stay at this chain again."
"Club room OK and clean, dinner was mediocre £18 for 4 King prawns in a sauce which can only be described as milk was poor, one bar person one front of house, no covid track and trace, people was just sitting anywhere they liked a bit un nerving. Waited at least 30 mins for cheesecake which is no blame on the poor member of staff who was running around like a headless chicken, breakfast poor, no hash browns or fruit, toast rock-hard, when we asked for poached or fried we was told they can't due to the current situation apparently??we're talking eggs here not steak, only scrambled on offer. o watered down orange juice was not good, tea and coffee on offe was OK, We have stayed in 5 different hotels since the industry was allowed to reopen, unfortunately this stay was not great I'm afraid and we've stayed at this hotel numerous times in the past, very dubious about returning"

"I booked this place for a small surprise gathering for my sister's 50th! Must say was pleasantly surprised with the venue and the afternoon tea was fantastic. We had an amazing time & had a private room too. The staff were friendly and polite and very relaxed. Lovely views of the golf course from the hotel. I would highly recommend Shaw Hill for a function, nice place for photographs too! Thank you, will be back soon!"
"Return visit and stayed one night as a couple. A lovely spacious room on the top floor with great views overlooking the golf course. Staff are very welcoming and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. There is a lovely relaxed atmosphere in the hotel. Evening dinner and breakfast were excellent. Will definitely be back. Would highly recommend."
"Think of the positives, errrrr check in didnt take long and there is no fear of losing the key to the rooms as the key ring is about 3 foot long! Anyway back to reality, got to the room and you notice straight away it is in need of a massive injection of TLC. It is really not the best at all which is a shame because it could be really nice but it would come at a cost! The bed was really uncomfortable and that is not just pot luck, I had another 2 colleagues staying at the hotel who said exactly the same. It is certainly not my cup of tea! You can just tell as soon as you walk in is it run down, the whole place has a musky smell. The people who work there are nice and do give a good customer experience but that is not enough for me to reccomend it. It was my first visit and unfortunately will be my last. Sorry Shaw hill. But it does need more than a lick of paint! What a shame"

"I stayed here on Saturday with a group of friends, we had a lovely welcome on arrival the room was very clean and spacious, the bed was really comfy best night sleep in a long time! The food was wonderful really hot and plenty of it, so much choice on the menu it was hard to choose so we have booked another night there in April. Staff really went out of the way to make our stay a memorable one... and it certainly was. See you all again in April."
"We came here for Sunday lunch and was really impressed. The hotel has had a complete makeover and looks really good. The place has a chilled bar vibe. For starters I had the nachos and for main the pork roast. My partner had the same but pate to start. Food was amazing will definitely return"

Lostock Lane, Bamber Bridge, Lancashire, United Kingdom
"We were welcomed to the hotel on checking by Natasha who was lovely and despite us being tiered and our autistic son obsessing over Blackpool pleasure beach that we were waiting the following day she built a great rapport with him and explained the driving route and generally went above and beyond. The following morning we went to breakfast and was welcomed into the restaurant by both Natasha and granny. They were both really patient as my son is a very fussy eater and found it difficult that the usual choices of continental breakfast (that he can eat) we not on the menu due tod covid but granny and Natasha came back with a breakfast box which contained all his favourite. Nothing was too much trouble Rooms perfectly cleaned and great to have showers instead of baths in all the rooms not just the accsessable ones Accseability was great in the disabled room All in all a great stay just off the motorway, easy accsess to Blackpool, Southport, Manchester and the lakes"
"Sara on reception and Theresa in the dining room could not have been more pleasant and helpful. Made a tedious wait much easier for us. Other members of staff were very pleasant as well. Pity about the very limited choice of breakfast cereals. Surely the Premier Inn could buy in cereals such as Kellogg's cornflakes in small boxes while things are restricted by the Covid19 precautions."
"Used as a stop over on the way to the Lake District, nice friendly staff and service, room very comfortable and quiet. Breakfast albeit different in these Covid times was well Served and quick to be cooked. "

"Visited with friends to celebrate a birthday. Presented with an espresso sized cup of lovely tomato soup while waiting for afternoon tea to be prepared. The finger sandwiches were as fresh as fresh, which I have found unusual, as at other venues the sandwiches have obviously been prepared in advance and are a bit dry round the edges. The staff had gone to great lengths to make our visit safe from coronavirus, having additional sanitisers available. A lovely afternoon."
"Upon checking in at this hotel for a overnight stay the first issue was 3 attempts to get a room key to work for the room allocated so they gave me a different room. Comfy and a spacious room Overall. Ordered food which was very very nice indeed. On the down side the plumbing was very noisy meaning you heard it when ever the adjacent room used toilet or taps. Nice hotel but some areas require work eg plumbing to give customers a quiet nights sleep."
"Great day spent here for our Daughters wedding , well looked after by David and the team , food and service excellent , drinks a bit pricey but you kinda expect that . Rooms and breakfast morning after superb Dave and Lisa Mather "

"I often travel to Leigh and this is my first time at this Holiday Inn. Being a member of the IHG scheme I thought that I would give it a try and I really do not regret my decision. There is ample parking and the impression from outside was favourable. Checkin was an excellent experience with Charlie and Holly. I do like how a piece of paper was stapled to my key holder with times on it such as breakfast. I registered my card for use in the bar and I really do recommend that you do this if possible. When we returned after a night out I could use the bar because I could charge it to my room. I did see a group that wanted to use the bar but they couldn't because they had not registered a card. We found the room to be very clean and comfortable. There was a heater in the room but didn't need to use it. Breakfast was a buffet and the food was of a very good standard. There was a ray of sunshine at breakfast and she is called Joyce. Joyce is constantly smiling and checking that people are ok at breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble for her. She is also to be found working behind the bar in the evening and her happiness is actually infectious. Alex checked me out effortlessly in the morning and she upheld the excellent standards of this Holiday Inn. Now that I have found this hotel I will be back. "
"Needed a room for one night when visiting family in the area, I generally stay in and around the Bolton area but decided to try out this hotel due to the convenience to the M6. Less than a 10 minute drive from junction 22 of the motorway. Large car park, so no parking problems. Reception and foyer of the hotel gave a good first impression and it was clean and well organised. Check in was quick and easy. Room had everything I needed, clean bed and bathroom. Room rate included breakfast and there was plenty to satisfy everyone. It wasn't overly busy. The two staff members in the restaurant were very helpful, polite and friendly. I have to return to the area again next weekend and have already rebooked an overnight stay."
"My second stay at this Holiday Inn between Christmas and New Year. Hotel staff and that includes the cleaners and kitchen staff could not be more helpful kind and considerate to each guests individual needs . From booking , checking in and out . The hotel is spotless . The air condition was not working but we were given apologies on arrival and each room had convector heaters to plug in if the room was to cold for your liking . The beds are comfy , the breakfast is excellent and everyone had a smilie and a hello or goodbye for you . Would not stay anywhere else when visiting Leigh ."
