"The reason we were at the Lodge was for a Regional Conference. It had been five years since we stayed at the Lodge. The Lodge is now affiliated with Marriott. Guest rooms were recently refurbished and the updating was well done. Rooms are quite nice and spacious. Room was clean and comfortable. My only complaint is the pillows were too soft and during the night, there was a dull thumping sound that presented itself every 45 minutes during the night. Parking at the Lodge is free. Meeting rooms are really nice and the sound and video systems were first rate for speakers and presentations. Break food and drink was very good by breakfast food was average at best. Staff assistance is first rate. They were helpful and cordial. So all in all, Lodge is located in a great location for visiting Colonial Williamsburg and its right across the street from the golf course and spa. The price of the room we paid was $149.00/night plus tax which is a good value for the location and amenities. "
"Wonderful hotel, spotlessly clean, friendly and professional service at the front desk, and housekeeping. We left two jackets in the closet and only realized the next day when we were back in Norfolk ready to board a return to Florida. Carolyn in housekeeping had the two jackets and returned them to us via UPS. Front desk Manager Markel was very helpful. We also had a wonderful breakfast cooked perfectly to order with great service. It was just a short walk to Colonial Williamsburg, down the street and across the road and there you are ready to explore to heart's content."
"Great place to stay. We were fortunate to get an upgrade to a beautiful suite which had recently been refurbished. We loved the food, drinks and the bartender. Everyone was so friendly and efficient. We wanted a light lunch so we ordered a sandwich to be shared, but were amazed how big their half sandwich was. Their half sandwich was bigger than most full sandwiches elsewhere. "

"Family came to celebrate the 5th birthday of our younger grandson. First time for all of us and not the last. Happy to know they are pet friendly and the dogs seemed to enjoy it, too. Each family unit (wife and I, her parents, and our kids with their kids) each had separate rooms. We had a king bed efficiency with a full kitchen...an actual kitchen with full size stove-oven, full size refrigerator, and all the necessities. We didnt cook that much since this was a short visit but I would feel comfortable cooking here as if I was in my own kitchen. Rooms we spacious and bed was quite comfortable. We were on first floor near an exit and that was very accommodating with our ever-present travel companions Lucy, Lily, and Charley. Quick walk to the pet area and the part adjacent to the hotel. COVID19 had closed some of the amenities (hot breakfast, pool, and spa area) but that is expected in the sake of safety for all involved. The staff was polite and courteous. I noticed how professional they were when there was a noise complaint lodged against out neighbors (not by us). She handled it professionally and respectfully and the offenders complied quickly. They were enjoying each others' company and just let time get away from them. I was enjoying their laughter and glee but to each his own. My only complaint I would have was the lack of hot water in the bathroom sink; the kitchen and bathtub-shower had plenty of hot water but the small sink took forever to heat up. I shave the old fashioned way with a hot towel butt that was a minor inconvenience. "
"We primarily stayed here because of the good dog policy and the suite room layout. It's not a bad hotel and the staff was friendly and helpful, but the COVID precautions really take something away from the experience (although necessary). The hotel is doing it's best to adjust, but it just wasn't quite the same. Good points: - the friendly and helpful staff - the location within walking or very quick driving distance from the entire commercial district of Williamsburg - the location set back a bit from the main road, which gave you some quiet away from the bustle Downsides: - COVID housekeeping restrictions - only every five days, although they did change the bed sheets and give us more supplies when we specifically requested it - no buffet breakfast - the boxed breakfasts just didn't compare to what they were able to offer before - the building itself seems a little dated, even compared to other Residence Inns - the two elevators are very slow - I'd recommend a room on the lower floors near the side exits so you could easily take the stairs whenever possible"
"The stay was great even during COVID. Housekeeping service was canceled which was fine because we didn't want people in and out of the room. The only complaint is that the hotel loss cable for a few hours. "

"Fall trip to the area for relaxation and roaming around to some favorite places. First stay at this location. Masks were worn coming and going by all we encountered at motel. Weekday breakfast limited to breakfast sandwich/ biscuit cooked up as order with a bagel and etc in little neat box to go... Pick your choice of pre-cupped juices with lid, , a prepacked Otis Sputmeyer muffin. Easy enuff for something on the go. Rooms was extremely spacious and comfortable with great comfy mattress -- very clean and fresh sheets/ towel sets in super clean bathroom. Quiet and basically no noise except when doors slam shut in hall way. Staff very curteous. I would have to say that the little book lights on either side of bed are not steady...they droop downward..so maybe the motel will return to regular bed side lamps. NOT a fan of the check in : when getting the room paid for they had a whole different charge than I was told on the phone. When I looked at it , and asked the man why? what is the extra charges? I had my info wrote down on my pad I had made the reservation. His explaination was that they charge $25 daily for 'incidentals' that may be incurred/ or used during the stay.', but then take them off at the end of the stay when ya check out" Something bout that just didn't set or even sound right to me. I ain't bout to mess up or tear up nothing in a room I want to sleep in comfortable and safely ,anywhere!! I said... no we don't do that... the charge comes off NOW... I am not paying $25 daily for something I am not doing. Not going to sign for something I am not in agreement with. So he did promptly remove the charges and we got the charge paid we supposed to for the room as I was told for the reservation. Don't know if anyone else ever ran into something like this b4. I know in over 45 + yrs of traveling and paying for vacations-- have Never ever been 'precharge' for anything concerning a room. Always try to leave any room neat and trash gathered up at check out. Check out day did reflect t eh very same charge as agreed to for reservation...so I know there is to be no trick ups. That's just common sense to me. Maybe would stay again another time as it was close to alot of stuff we enjoy going to."
"On Dec 13 & 14 2019 my family group of 8 people of all ages stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn in Williamsburg, VA while visiting Christmas Town at Busch Gardens. The stay at this hotel helped make the trip fantastic for all of us. The hotel did a great job accommodating our family with great rooms, a pool area for unwinding, and an outstanding breakfast buffet for a great start of the day. The staff was excellent in every way. A real gem of a hotel for a great value."
"We are Hilton Honors Diamond, and therefore are entitled to complimentary upgrades if available. I asked at check-in if an upgrade was available. The desk clerk said we were already upgraded. When we got to our room, we found we were in the exact room type we reserved. AND since there were only about 15-20 rooms occupied that night, upgrades were available. I do not appreciate being lied to. The more serious issue was lack of hot water. The water was only luke-warm at best. We called the front desk the evening after check in and the same clerk that checked us in gave an indifferent reply that the boiler would need to be reset. The following morning, we told the overnight/morning clerk the water was still NOT hot. He was very casual and ambivalent about the water issue. Neither clerk offered any regrets, apologies or compensation for the lack of hot water. Under normal conditions the lack of hot water is a significant inconvenience. Under Covid-19 conditions no hot water is a serious health risk. The restaurant only offered a to-go bag with made to order breakfast sandwich, fruit, juice. We ate breakfast away from the property. We will not stay at this property again. We checked out the Hampton on the by-pass and will stay there when in Williamsburg in the future."

"Everything clean and comfortable. Bed was VERY comfortable! Continental breakfast is currently "grab n go boxes"... a reasonable solution with current restrictions, but still a bit disappointing. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful."
"I am staying here now and was worried with the negative reviews. Don't believe them. This place was totally remodeled and the rooms are clean, beautiful, modern and comfortable. Staff was great too!!! We will definitely be back."
"I traveled overnight and was really tired and needed sleep. Got to Williamsburg approximately 7:30 and wanted to check into this location to get sleep. Well it was no rooms available so I wanted to cancel and go to a neighboring Marriott. I ask if they could waive the cancellation fee and I got the run around. And after calling the very unprofessional young girl several times waiting to see if I could talk to the manager well she was worse. Had an attitude and was just as unprofessional. I explained to her my situation and she just acted like she had no care in the world about helping me so. After that I felt they didn’t deserve my business so I made a reservation at another hotel. I’ve never had to experience this unfriendly customer service at any Marriott property and I go to Marriott quite frequently. Next time they should be a little mor sensitive to making the customer happy! "

"We have traveled to Williamsburg for 3 years in a row now to visit Christmas Town at Busch Gardens. The past two years we stayed at the Holiday Inn at Historic Gateway. This year, when booking, we saw that location had fallen to #13, whereas this location (Busch Gardens area) had shot up to #4. So we thought to make a switch. WORST. DECISION. EVER. I will start by saying that while this may normally be a solid hotel, it seems they must have planned quite poorly for the number of people staying there at this time. Both mornings we were there, the breakfast area was overcrowded, with long lines, no seats, and lots of food shortages. This left our kids (ages 4 and 1) unhappy, hungry, and quite uncomfortable. If a hotel sees such a high number of people staying, I'd imagine they'd make adequate preparations for amounts of food, and to possibly add some temporary/folding tables/chairs to accommodate their guests. Also, our room received NO SERVICE. We left our room at 11 am, and returned at 10:30 pm, and to our dismay the beds were not made, the bathroom was not serviced, and we were left short on towels. Another note, we had requested a crib when we made the reservation, however it took 2 calls and a stop by the front desk after we arrived to get the crib. Even after multiple complains, the staff/management made no attempts to compensate or make the situation right. All in all this was a VERY subpar stay, and we will be returning to the other Williamsburg location next year."
"Newly renovated lobby area and rooms. Beautiful bathroom, very clean, rooms were beautifully decorated, love the wall papers and especially the faux animal skin paper in dark blue with white accents, absolutely stunning. Love the air/heat controlled by thermostat on wall, unit very quiet. Loved the Kerurig coffee maker ointment the room. Lobby was very inviting, staff quite friendly and so helpful. Very pleasant stay wish we had had longer to stay there. Even though COVID managed to mess up the continental breakfast, Holiday Inn still was able to provide a bag snack for breakfast, a muffin or sweet roll , piece of fruit and bottle of water. Thank you for making our short stay so relaxing. Will definitely recommend this Holiday Inn Express to friends and family."
"My husband and I as well as a number of friends booked this hotel for a Marriage Retreat Weekend that we were attending. I loved the room, great little 'zones' that let us spread out for the various things we wanted to do in the room (quick work on the laptop, a snack , watch TV in bed). Most notably, the vanity/sink is outside the bathroom. This let me freshen up before dinner, and do my makeup before church while my husband showered! I wish out master suite at home was so well-planned (lol). We'd definitely book again. See ya next year!"

I appreciate everyone including the engineers at this establishment. :-) Your staff puts the “P” in professional . This is a great location is central to everything. Thank you for making our visit pleasant! ❤️🦋💯🙏"
"This was my first time staying with the new Holiday Inn Express. We was very pleased with the smooth ckeck in. Friendly staff plus the rooms was very clean. All types of eateries around and near the outlet. This will be my place of stay when we are in the Williamsburg area. The only issue is, they don't serve breakfast. But they do have a bar for food and drinks for purchase."
"We are so glad we chose this hotel-the employees were awesome, especially the lady in the red sweater! The room was clean and comfortable. It was so relaxing we stayed two nights rather than the one we planned on. All the visitors we chatted with were enjoying their stay also. We are planning a return trip this summer and hope they have room for us here!"
