Dorfstrasse 1 / Postwiese, Neuastenberg, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany
"Dorint is a good choice if you want a small and quiet area for skiing with the family, as you can walk to the pistes. By car, you are about 10min to Winterberg where you have the bigger area for skiing and snowboarding with more exciting pistes. We could only go into the appartment at 5pm, a bit late for checkin... It had a bit of everything to allow for small cooking, but it seemed more a 3-star than 4-start appartment, in need of some more in depth cleaning (spider webs on the ceilings). Details of the reservation mentioned a free bottle of water but we didn't have any. On the 2nd day I asked and they gave us one at the end of the day. It´s a bit of a walk from the appartment to the hotel area where the swimming pool and restaurants are, so we ended up not trying the spa area. It snowed non-stop for more than 1 day, so it was difficult to walk, especially on all the stairs leading to the hotel area. There are not many options for dining except the hotel restaurant. The next door pizzeria was closed on Monday and Tuesday, but you can take the car to Winterberg for more options. We thought the parking was expensive, especially if you're a guest of the hotel. We wanted to cancel breakfast, but since we had reserved via Booking, it seemed to be a problem that could not be solved so we ended up eating there. We were always early and there is plenty of choice, but also slow start on the cooking side where we could guess there could be maybe fried eggs or omelettes to order, if there was someone available to assist."
"Not sure how to rate here the hotel - there is - except the rooms - no exitment to report. Rooms are nicely and fancy decorated - all you need is there and it feel brand new. Every Room has a balcony or terrace. Restaurant: The staff is nice and helpful - all people could help with allegies questions - and waitress/ waiter have good control. Nice small talk every day jist gices you a warm feeling. The food was real super traditional options of somethin lighter and less oily would be a plus. Reception: One senior lady was Ok - the rest of the pac medium lower level when is comes to common sense and attention to detail. Sure it was xmas and the hotel super busy but its the nature of a reception as the front staff to handle pressure and offer smart solutions. i.e. a bus schedule to go to city center, received while checking in was complete wrong. when asked if they can check for an update she said its not her mistake and she does not know better. A new bus schedule was not given.. and she said its zmas the busses are anyway not going regular...This is just to share the feeling.. it was maybe an indvidual persons ability but this was overall the feeling at the front desk. The Lobby Cafe was empty as the service was super slow and they have had only one sort if dru cake day in and out. This area could be a gold mine.. but if maintained like a waiting hall( the deco is actually ok). Summary: The location is nice - Parking great but please give this place a heart and soul. Right now it could be a business hotel anyway in the world. This is not what a resort should feel. "
"Great facilities, lovely food, especially the breakfasts. Right on the slopes. Also provides that extra little something, feels like a little secret, tucked away from the masses, with each room and apartment your own little oasis."
