Sebastian-Kneipp-Promenade 56, Bad Lauterberg im Harz, Lower-Saxony, Germany
"I had been there for a conference, although it is also a spa hotel. The building is huge, a lot of space, also in the room. Bath was a bit tiny, but ok. The equipment was ok, the matrasses a bit soft, after some nites I lacked a good sleep. The room also offers a deposit box, a minibar, a desk, chairs, a big wardrobe and some hooks for jackets. Toiletries are ok, towles also, enough hot water, even in the morning. Breaky was buffet style with scrambled eggs, smoked fish, sausages, cheese, jam, cereals, bread, juices and milk, coffe and tea. Receptionists were very helpful and friendly. Waiters in the restaurant differ a much. The chairs in the conference halls are not good, maybe for my proportions. After six hours I couldnt longer sit anymore. There is also a gym that looks ok, but the cardios are a bit of outworn, maybe lacking some maintenance. In case you got a package with lunch and dinner, it maybe is also buffet style. The offer a big salad bar, but with a lot of already marinated salads, fresh greens could be more. Checkin and out was convenient, the hotel is a silent one. Just avoid the conference parties at the bars!"
"This mini, country hotel/resort reminds us of another time, where decor, staff service, food quality and attention to detail are long forgotten. Personally, reminds us of Baguio Country Club, RP or Grand Hotel on Mackinaw Island, MI. Period outfits of staff are great as are all furniture and art selections. Very inviting atmosphere, even if exterior looks like a 1960s Soviet apartment building. Superior spa with extensive and great services. Hotel has pool, sauna, gym, susn tanning room, tennis courts, etc. Places to enjoy outside gardens or relax on a enclosed solarium/sun bathing patio. Well worth a stay for a few nights."
"Hotel staff always helpful providing a good service and nice impression of the hotel. Breakfast and dinner of good quality and taste. Nice gym (only missed a spinning cycle ), pool (panorama view would have been great) and sauna area."
