This is a hotel I really like. There is a hot spring in the room. There is no public hot spring bath, which is probably the only drawback. Very designer boutique hotel style. Minibars are free. The room is big enough. The toiletries are all organic and smell very comfortable. The smell of essential oils and incense is everywhere. It only costs 5,500 a night including breakfast and dinner, which is very cost-effective. The location is super good. Nara Park is right outside the door. The scenery inside the hotel is also beautiful. The bamboo forest can rival Arashiyama's Internet celebrity attractions. Parking is free, and there are waiters who can speak a lot of Chinese.

Kintetsu Kyoto to Nara takes 30 minutes to take a taxi to the hotel for more than 70 yuan. The environment in the park is very good, and the deer is also very good. The room hot spring food is very good. It is worth coming again. It is only the toilet vent of 203. The hot spring smells bad when soaking in the terrace pool The breakfast is not in the private room and the restaurant environment is noisy. I definitely recommend coming to fufu to eat at the restaurant. You can see the beautiful bamboo forest in fufu. Overall, it is recommended to stay. I just hope that one person can buy two meals for one person because there is only one person in Atami and I can’t book

The historical significance of this venue must be highlighted to illustrate its uniqueness in Nara - We signed up for the complimentary tour of the hotel offered to hotel guests on certain mornings of the week and had the pleasure of having Ms. Sato, the director of marketing, introduce the story of Shisui and its past-life as the residence of the governor of Nara between 1922 to 2017, then as Shisui hotel with guest-rooms designed by renown architect Kengo Kuma. The emperor of Japan had stayed on property in post-war to sign the San Francisco treaty. Sato-san's thorough introduction in fluent-english had me realise a stay at this hotel is a unique experience in the way that it is beyond just luxury. The staff had been wonderful and eager to please without pushiness. It was much appreciated, as it gave room for my wife and I to enjoy each other's company at this perfectly peaceful property. The staff had been amazing from the beginning, at check-in, we had Rika-san, a lady with eyes that can smile, to help us check-in while we rest our feet at the lounge with tea, then guide us to our room while briefing us on all its amenities. The rooms were modern with accents of traditional Japanese designs to remind me of the locations' history. Details like the washroom walls that look like zen-gardens and overall wooden decor made my stay at the room one of the most relaxing experiences ever at any hotel. The French-Japanese wine-paired dinner at Suiyou was also our culinary highlight of our two-week vacation in Japan. In summary, after the two night stay, my wife had requested that we should come back to Shisui in the spring, summer and fall to experience all the seasons at this venue.

Love this hotel so much! I specially came to experience the newly opened luxury series hotel for one night, and it exceeded my expectations. Yoshimura Ueki from Reception is really nice. He can speak some Chinese. Knowing that we are Chinese, he prepared a Chinese speech the night before. It was so cute when he took out the cheat sheet he prepared! The room is very comfortable. I feel so good when I wake up to the greenery in the morning. I can see the stars at night. It’s very comfortable to walk around the hotel. It’s not too far from Mt. Wakakusa and the shopping street~ The scenery in the courtyard is great. Now is the season when the osmanthus is in full bloom. The scent of osmanthus is super delicious when you walk on the road. After breakfast, I went back to the room and met a deer that came to the hotel to look for food. There are traditional Japanese dishes for breakfast and dinner, which taste good~ The hotel also has a spa and hot spring that can be reserved, which is perfect for a staycation.

When you arrive in touristic Nara, you go up to Kasuga Taisha to continue the path through the woods. And there it is... a hidden gem! Lost in the middle of nature, small cottages linked by a path traced in the forest and outside blend into the forest... It is a unique, sublime, almost unreal place.... The room has large windows overlooking nature. It is the most peacful place we stayed in Japan No wifi, no TV... just you and the nature The private bathroom was a great experience. The food was exceptional! We would like to thank the staff who was really nice and helpful. They made our stay even more magical. We were feeling like home.

The hotel is in the forest, and you can walk along the mountain road to the hotel (it would be inconvenient to walk in to get your luggage, you can take a taxi to the door of the hotel). The scenery is so beautiful, leaving the noisy tourist area and getting close to nature. Dinner is kaiseki, in a private restaurant room, a great experience! When checking in, the time for dinner and breakfast will be arranged, and the time of the private bath room will be confirmed, and the service staff will come to the room to call. The breakfast has traditional tea and rice, delicious 😋The room is traditional Japanese style, not low-key luxury design. The environment is awesome!

Reviews From Real Travelers
I researched a ridiculously long time to find a comfortable authentic ryokan experience in Nara so we could enjoy a more relaxed time in Nara as a family vs just a typical day trip. My husband was VERY reluctant to spend such a large amount on a one night stay where we'd be sleeping on the floor in the room with the kids but I assured him this was a not-to-miss experience, and for the price it was definitely going to be a comfortable night sleep on the floor with lots of padding under the futon mattresses. I was wrong. Not only did it feel like camping out on a hard floor, but the rice paper on the windows did absolutely nothing to block out the bright streetlight outside the window. Between the hard floor and the bright street light glaring into the room, it was a very uncomfortable night of sleep, to say the least. ”Don't worry, this will be an unforgettable Japanese kaiseki meal! It's worth paying so much!” Again, inwas wrong. While the staff was incredibly thoughtful with any pre-discussed food options, and the service was delightful, the food was hit or miss. Some courses were lovely, both as a piece of art in their presentation and also delicious! But aggressively overcooking fish and seafood is just beyond unacceptable. Also, I was disappointed to discover that dinner was served in the dining room, not in our private room, as I had assumed. We chose the western option for breakfast. It was pretty terrible, I have to admit. Perhaps we should have opted for the Japanese option in retrospect. I thought my kids would be more likely to eat a western breakfast, but it just wasn't good. Cold eggs, chicken nuggets, stale bread. One of my daughters and I briefly enjoyed the small public onsen inside the inn and that was nice! I feel bad writing a poor review because I REALLY wanted to love this place, and the staff is very warm, thoughtful, and caring. But with the disappointing food and uncomfortable night's sleep, I just can't recommend staying here for the amount of money we spent. Not the splurge-worthy experience I was hoping for, sadly.

Good location, next to Nara Park Asahi Dashe, not far from the pedestrian street and other attractions. You can see the deer from the gate. The house is very old. There are no more than 10 rooms. The maintenance is good. Take off your shoes when you enter the hotel. Take a taxi to the door, the driver ran in and asked the waiter to come out to greet you. The waiter was polite and thoughtful, but the English communication was a bit reluctant... The hotel features a breakfast and dinner, breakfast is a delicious Japanese set meal dinner is exquisite kaiseki cuisine ~ This is why I booked this hotel.

I thought that while the corona was a little calm, I went to Nara. Good point The dishes were good. The location was very good. If you are not good at walking Todai Ji Temple and Kasuga Taisha shrine, you can walk around. The staff is very helpful, but the staff we talked to were kind and polite and gave advice about Nara 々. I want to improve The futon was very thin, so my body hurt. It is a relatively hard bedding from usual ... The quality of the futon was not proportional to the accommodation fee ... (personally hard to sleep) The hot spring of the hanging wind, the wind? It is a bit complicated. I want you to make a correct notation that is easy to understand. I want you to change the content of breakfast a little more during the night. I want you to correctly tell me a little more about the traffic situation in Nara. I would like to see you again if you can improve the futon.

The breakfast was pleasantly surprised, hearty, nicely presented, tasted good, attentive, and attentive service. It is the most characteristic breakfast during the trip to Japan. And the hotel environment is also very characteristic of a Japanese garden, very quiet!

The transportation is not very convenient. After getting off the subway, I pushed my suitcase for more than 800 meters. I didn't expect such a high-end hotel in the middle of the night. The room was particularly good. When checking in at the front desk, the staff were very polite and considerate. They clearly reminded me of the traffic conditions and timetable for the next day's trip, as well as the last bus time that I should pay attention to. Service: Very considerate Shuttle service: very punctual Hygiene: very clean Environment: I didn’t expect such a good hotel to appear Facilities: Very complete

During this trip to Kansai, Japan, I stayed at the Westin Kyoto, the JW Marriott Nara and the Ritz-Carlton Osaka. In terms of overall experience, the JW Marriott Nara was the best, completely crushing the other two! The service was good, the hotel room was comfortable, the breakfast and dinner were great, the location was good, and it was very convenient to travel around. highly recommended! ! !

Arrived at the hotel near 12 o'clock in the evening, and the guy on duty came out to greet him. And introduced us to the hotel's facilities and services in detail. Very enthusiastic. The hotel facilities are not new, but very clean and tidy, and the service attitude is very good. The hotel spa is very comfortable. The environment layout is very cultural. The location is good, right next to the Double Pagoda, just a short walk to Nara Park! The bathroom space in the room is a bit cramped, but others are fine!
- 马
5-10 minutes walk from Kintetsu Nara Station. The hotel is in a good location, only 50 meters from the sights of the five-storied pagoda. It is also about 100 meters to go shopping in the shopping street. Going out is Penghu, and walking along the lake in summer is very pleasant.

The Nara Hotel is not in Nara Park, and the deer almost never come here. It is a temple-like building on a hillside. There is no view at the entrance. Fufu is good enough to be in the park. There are scenic spots such as Arakike and a small courtyard in the old Mahayana about five minutes' walk away. It is a ten-minute walk from the garden to Nara Park, where there are flocks of deer, and other attractions are also very close. The most famous hotel is the hotel that has hosted the royal family for many years, but I was quite disappointed after checking in. Is this it? The hotel pays no attention to details. It is not as good as the Imperial Hotel. The price is about the same. The Empire is still in Tokyo. There is no flower arrangement in the whole hotel. All the fireplaces are fake. The slippers are cheap. The ultra-thin pajamas in the hotel are pilling. The door is low and the shower has a big gap. Standing in the bathtub, I have less trouble since I didn’t choose tatami. This hotel has many dilapidated details, which makes me worry about the difference between the old and new buildings in Xiaoqiang. The old one is mainly made of wood, and the new one is a connected addition to the old building. The small decoration in the high house is more refined and classical. The new building has a large room with simple decoration. The bathroom is older and has strange noises, but it is located in the back and is quieter. To be honest, the quality of the hotel is really sorry for the Japanese lunge who are so happy to come for pilgrimage. The old air conditioner is so loud that I can't sit in it. The biggest highlight of my stay is that the coffee bar has a beautiful view and is open to the public. The main building's wide wooden staircase and hanging paintings are decorated with cultural relics. The two restaurants, Mikasa, Western style, are unpalatable, rough and have spoiled things. Hanagi Japanese style is very good. It's best to book a Japanese breakfast for dinner. Western food is all set meals, there is no self-service area, the front desk is a bit confusing, and the service is still online. Rent a bicycle and be careful. There are no dedicated bicycle lanes in Japan and it is unsafe for vehicles to mix. Overall, you don’t need to stay in the hotel. You can come to the coffee bar to drink coffee and dine with Hua Ju.
- Nuonuokafei
The location is excellent. The hotel has a shuttle bus to and from Nara Station. You can also see deer walking around on the balcony of the room, and you can even have a look at each other. Dinner is delicious, but you need to make a reservation in advance Afternoon tea is also great👍

I was more interested in a nice hotel with a nice atmosphere in a good location every time I went sightseeing in Nara, so I stayed for the first time. Everywhere is very well maintained and although it is an old hotel, it was very comfortable. The room I booked is a renewed Japanese modern non-smoking twin. After all the air conditioner is new. It was a very hot day, but I was able to spend comfortably in the room. There is also a foot massage machine, so you can heal your tired legs from sightseeing. As for the lighting, I have something to tell the hotel a little. The large communal bath is not a hot spring, but it is well managed, comfortable and relaxing. The lobby has a drink server as a service for guests, which was really helpful in the hot season. I booked with breakfast and dinner, but the taste of Nara was very delicious and I enjoyed Nara sake. The location is close to Kintetsu Nara Station and close to tourist spots, so it is a place where you can return to the hotel and rest as soon as you get tired of sightseeing. Convenience stores, shopping streets and souvenir shops are also nearby, making it the best location. If I have a chance to go to Nara again, I definitely want to stay here. At that time, I would be happy if other rooms were renewed. I'm sure the rooms that have not been renewed are clean, but new equipment such as air conditioning and lighting is a condition for me to spend comfortably. I look forward to it.

We wanted to have a very Japanese experience while in Nara and booked one of their Japanese style rooms. Very nice room that was very clean and comfortable. They provide you with traditional Japanese robes to wear while you are in the hotel. Many people wear these to dinner/breakfast or just walking around the hotel. When we went out to dinner they came and transformed our room for sleeping by placing out the futon mats and pillows. Very nice to come back after dinner and have your room ready. They have an Onsen on site that you can use - one for women and one for men. This was very enjoyable after a long day hiking and hangin out with the deer.

The hotel can see the night scene in the middle of the mountain. The environment is very good. The service is great. There are Chinese girls in Taiwan. The price is very high. The breakfast and dinner are all kaiseki. You can choose your favorite bathrobe. The toiletries are pola. Private soup slightly general hotel has a shuttle bus to jr or private railway hotel when the luggage storage place in the station is special, the hotel can put luggage in the station in advance. This is very convenient

It was convenient to have a check-in and check-out shuttle bus. After checking out, load your luggage on the shuttle bus and go to Nara Station. It is very easy to go sightseeing nearby because they store your luggage at the Mikasa Ryokan waiting area at Nara Station. The kaiseki is delicious, and the view of Nara City from the lounge when checking in is really nice.
