5501 North Hacienda del Sol Road, Catalina Foothills, Arizona, United States
"Spent an entire week here last spring. Everything about this place, from the rooms to the courtyard in full bloom, exceeds expectations. Service is impeccable; rooms are immaculate. This is a real getaway. I've been to the Hacienda before but during this visit, I intended to go riding every day. I pulled a little mustang from their corral and they let me keep him for my time there . . . I must have ridden him more than 30 miles over the course of my stay. The wrangler (Dave, who is a fine photographer, a nice guy, and full of interesting stories) took me on a few private rides, the last of which was at sunset. We rode back to the hotel in the dark, accompanied by the small family of coyotes who had been serenading my husband and I every evening. We stayed in one of the lower rooms so that I could be close to the corral. It felt a bit cramped after a couple of days, nor did it get much natural light. On the other hand, I spent so much time exploring the grounds (gorgeously landscaped) that it didn't really matter. Small inconveniences (trouble with the mini-fridge) were fixed within a day. The staff is attentive, courteous, and well aware that their guests are paying good money. They are also quick to act. Halfway through my visit, I encountered a boorish guest - an older Australian traveling with his wife - who just wouldn't leave me alone. Apparently the guy got roaring drunk every night, made a lot of noise, and annoyed anyone within earshot. The staff openly admitted he was troublesome and stopped him from going on trail rides while he was intoxicated. Had he caused any real problems, I am sure the staff would have ejected him quickly from the premises. My husband and I plan to return next spring, and to book the Casita Grande. I can't of think any place in the southwest I'd rather stay than Hacienda del Sol."
"My husband and I are currently here at Hacienda del Sol. We have a Catalina Mountain View room, which is spacious with a fabulous view of the mountains. However, every room seems unique and I don’t think you can go wrong with whichever room type you choose. And the grounds are so beautiful. From the moment we checked in, the service has been impeccable. We have already eaten at La Terraza Restaurant twice and we loved the ambiance, the view and last night there was live music. The food was fantastic. The staff is so helpful and they are very, very covid conscious. Everything is Extremely clean, masks are worn by entire staff at all times, and guests wear the masks except when eating, or out walking about outside, not near anyone. And even then, many of the guests wear the masks. We feel very safe here. Hacienda del Sol feels like old town Tucson to me, how it was when I first came here in 1960. We are celebrating my husband’s 70th birthday here and we could not have chosen a better place. Thank you Hacienda del Sol for being so special "
"A hidden gem that’s my jam. Hacienda Del Sol is always an A+ escape in the Catalina foothills just North of Tucson. Escaped for a few nights to celebrate and always leave with a bigger appreciation for such a magical resort. The grounds are beautiful with incredible artwork everywhere you turn. Welcoming and friendly staff, following all social distancing polices and making guests feel safe and comfortable. The food at their fine dining restaurant, The Grill was top notch. An to top off the weekend, their amazing pastry chef created Coffin Cake for a Halloween Birthday celebration. If you haven’t visited this property, put it on your list."

"The overall design of the hotel is great, and every place has been carefully designed. The hotel is built on a hill with a natural waterfall that is said to protect more than 30 endangered species. There is a golf course in front, a swimming pool in the back, a bar and gym facilities, and many golfers come on weekends. We booked a big bed room without breakfast, the room is 45 square meters, very spacious"

"I honestly don't have enough good things to say about Armory Park Inn. If you want a memorable experience in a historic home, don't bother looking anywhere else. You won't find anything else like it in downtown Tucson. My husband and I decided to drive down to Tucson while in Scottsdale visiting his dad. We're not huge resort people, so we were looking for an in-town boutique hotel close to restaurants, sites and historic neighborhoods. Nailed it! When we arrived, the owner, Amy, greeted us at the door and immediately made us feel welcome. She showed us around and told us about the history of the home (a travel stop for weary soldiers heading to the Presidio). As it turned out, we were the only guests that evening, so we had the whole place to ourselves which felt a bit like being allowed to stay alone overnight at your parents' house as a teenager. Somehow API is both luxurious and comfortable at the same time. There are seven beautifully appointed bedrooms (four downstairs and three up), as well as plenty of communal areas in which to congregate with others or quietly sit and read a newspaper. "Armory Hour" (yummy wine and snacks) is a nice way to meet and greet with the other guests, or you can choose to take your drink back to your room, if you're not feeling particularly sociable. Amy is a perfectionist in the very best way possible, and it shows in each and every detail. Every feature is intentional and precise - from the bathroom amenities to the Turkish towels and the bathrobes with slippers; from the lovely furnishings to the gorgeous landscaping. The beautiful antiques have been carefully selected by Amy to correspond with and accentuate the original history and beauty of the home. However, the entire inn also has been completely updated with modern comforts and conveniences, like hi-speed Wifi and wall-mounted cable TVs. Even the window blinds are remote controlled. The beds with their Frette linens are so comfortable you won't want to get up in the morning. But you will...because the breakfasts are divine. On our first morning, Amy made yogurt/granola parfaits, sous vide egg cups, sausages and fresh croissants. We were stuffed, but very happy. The following morning, Dora, the wonderful inn manager, blew me away with her almond scones. I swear, they were the best scones I've ever had. So much so that I asked if I could steal extras for later. (She gave me a brown paper bag to carry them.) She made eggs-to-order for my husband with toast and grapefruit jam she made from fruit from her backyard. I'm not a grapefruit person, but this tasted more like blood orange and was truly delicious. For me, Dora prepared a yogurt parfait with fresh fruit and her homemade granola, which I topped with the yummy grapefruit jam. The last morning, Dora again made scones, blueberry this time, and chile rellenos cups. A wonderful recipe which I think I will try at home. Unfortunately, it was chilly and mostly rainy while we were there, b"
"We stayed at the Armory Park Inn for a weekend with our kids. We came to Tucson to catch some basketball games, and had such a great time staying here. The kids absolutely loved the “Inn” experience and the hospitality was beyond our expectations. The owner , Amy and her inn manager Dora, were such a delight to speak to. The breakfast that was served each day was carefully and beautifully hand crafted and delicious . Every detail of the property was so well put together. The original pieces of the historic building were well preserved and the details of the newer parts of the house complimented the original architecture and design. Amy did a great job in refurbishing and conserving the original style of the building. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. The bathrooms had a lot of space and were designed with top quality fixtures. We will definitely come back to this place! Thank you Dora and Amy for a memorable experience!"
"Just back from the gem show in Tucson. Lucky enough to snag a room at this wonderful new Inn. Tucked into a residential neighborhood, close to downtown, The Armory Park Inn fully exceeded our expectations. Once inside the front door you will be wowed by the decor, thoughtful and beautifully done, the rooms...super comfortable and quiet, the food...home made and fantastic, the sitting area...perfectly thought out and the hospitality...beautifully executed by owner Amy and Manager Dora. This is very much like staying in your interior designer/friend's vacation house. Amy has thought of everything, including the world's quietest hairdryers! We've stayed at the big resorts in tucson, as well as the hotels in town with tired rooms and crazy prices. This spot will knock your socks off."

"The room is large and the bathroom is large. Clean and tidy, staying is not bad. Located in the University of Arizona campus. At 6 o'clock in the morning, the sound of construction work began to come, with a little noise. . 20 minutes drive from Tucson Airport, no traffic jam, very convenient. There is a lively dining street and supermarket behind the hotel."
"No breakfast, the location is very good. Very suitable for bringing a family to play with, the most important thing is that it is very close to the University of Arizona. It is very convenient to visit the University of Arizona. There is a parking lot nearby."
"The location is relatively biased, back streets, and the surrounding area seems to be repairing roads; the hotel door is also being repaired, leaving a small passage around the fence; there is no free Wi-Fi, and you need to buy it separately. Others are ok."
