"The hotel overlooks the sea. You can enjoy this from different places: the large terrace, the dining room or from one of the rooms with sea view. The rooms are modernly decorated with a vintage touch. Beds are extremely comfortable. The hotel's dining room or lobby is a good place to be. Even if you don't come there to enjoy the excellent food. Breakfast and dinner are highly recommended. A few minutes walk from the hotel is the beach with several beach bars. The staff is professional and friendly. "
"Has a premium room which was quite big. Rooms are different from each other and some have integrated the bathroom in the room. Attention was great and the staff was there to help you. Hotel has parking so no trouble on leaving the car. Spa is not in the same building but at a 2 min car ride. Breakfast has great variety."
"Kind and very well trained employees: two thumbs up to the receptionist Laura. She has been very helpful and kind throughout my stay. The Hotel serves an excellent breakfast. They Japanese tapas they served at the restaurant are well presented and tasty. My room 108 was a great room. Will be back again to this Hotel "

"To celebrate the year’s end we organized a dinner with seven couples at Villa de Duinen. We were seated in the beautiful side dining room. One waitress was put in charge of our table and she did an excellent job overseeing the organization of the evening. The 4-course menu with small tasters was very tasty with nice seasoning and combinations. The wines chosen for each course were superb. As in the month of December all restaurants in Noordwijk give special offers, this was really value for money. We will definitely return some time!"
"We loved the atmosphere in this cosy, small scale hotel and restaurant. The staff are friendly and very helpful, beds are excellent. We had a very good dinner in the restaurant which offers great value for money. Beach is a 10 minute walk, hotel offered complementary access to the spa across the road."
"This is very cozy hotel, rooms are spacious, clean and just perfect. The restaurant is great, for breakfast and dinner and the staff knows how to take great care of the guests, We spend here a couple a days and once we go back to Noordwijk, Villa de Duinen will be our first choice."

"We loved our stay here. Avoiding the COVID19 virus we decided to hide in a luxury hotel for 3 nights - my excuse... Though it cost us an arm and a leg (we should have booked online instead of direct at the desk...) we had a fantastic stay. Breakfast was fantastic, room fantastic, safe in room great, bathroom great... Maybe since the hotel was pretty much empty they could have given us a sea view to impress us, but business is business and Dutch are Dutch. Despite becoming a member of the hotel chain to avoid the high additional parking fees at checkout three nights later the staff did not honour that promise saying the check-in person was wrong. Yet they remained very friendly and polite and given we were still extended a favourable rate it was ridiculously expensive for us. But yes, the clown art on the wall was spectacular and how some reviews rubbish that subject is just unbelievable because the great paintings and sculptures, the art presence everywhere, the interior design, the ambience and everything was most impressive and top notch. We would love to come back again one day, with a fatter less sensitive wallet and during happier times. Cudos to all staff who were always super friendly to us."
"I spend long weekends with my friends in this hotel, and I have to say that I left Noordwijk with mixed feelings. The hotel is ideally located...just a few steps from the beach. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and with very comfortable beds, but this is it. There is a minibar in the room, but totally empty. The bar closes at 21h (due to ”COVID rules), and there is nothing you could drink after that time. There was not even one bottle of water in the room, which is standard, even in a 4-star hotel. I find this a bit strange if you pay more than 150 euros per night. Also, the maid was ”cleaning” our room but only changing towels and make up our bed, but not taking away used glasses and replacing them with new. I really find this strange. Next to it, in the hotel bar, the staff was pretty rude if you asked them to repeat the question. We were unable to hear them very well, as they were talking through the mouth mask. Because of all the above mentioned, I cannot give them a better rating. I hope they will change this in the future, as with all mentioned, I don't see the point of staying over there. "
"We spent the week end with our 2 kids. Ask for 8th floor connecting rooms sea view. Large rooms with king size bed and a beautiful view. Great service at the hotel especially front desk Bas. Good shopping area nearby. Avoid Latour restaurant. We will go back soon. "

"I stayed here for business with 7 other colleagues split accross 2 suits. Although the stairs are crazy steep (dangerous if you are unsteady or drunk) and the lighting in our suit was a bit limited, it was clean, spacious and well equipped. We were greeted at about 9pm to be let in and showed how to use the coffee machine etc. The owners spoke perfect english and were very welcoming. We had good communication via email and WhatsApp prior to our arrival and some good local advice on food and transport. The suits are only about 20 min drive or bus journey from schiphol airport and are is a quiet and affluent village with nice shops and restaurants. There is a hotel next door that serves amazing food and drinks and plenty of parking. I will be taking my wife on holiday here when i can. Although we did not visit the sea we were told the beach was very close."

Duin en Kruidbergerweg 60, Santpoort-Noord, Noord-Holland, Netherlands
"We booked a 3 night package stay in a ‘patio room’ which the website describes as having “a Mediterranean-style balcony or terrace bordering the patio, which means that you can sit outside and enjoy the afternoon and evening with the towers of the country house as a backdrop” direct quote from the website; when in reality the balcony is about a foot wide and overlooking a glorified smoking area, meaning our room stank of smoke. The package we booked also included a 3 course meal in the DenK Brasserie on the first night, a bike ride with picnic on the second day and high tea on the third; unfortunately it turned out to be a bit of a disaster! It look an hour to get checked in and we had to queue outside on the steps (fully aware of changes in circumstances due to Covid but why not give people 10 minute staggered check-in times?) when we eventually got to check in they informed us that the dinner we had booked at 8pm via email had been moved to 6.30pm due to availability, we received no information regarding breakfast, what time we could pick up our bikes, what time high tea was etc. We took it upon ourselves to ask about the bikes and were told we could pick them up at 11, however they did not have the picnic ready and we had to wait. When we asked about the high tea at reception they informed us it was booked at 3 but managed to swap to an earlier time, when we also reminded them one of our party was vegetarian. We arrived on time for the high tea and reminded the waitress of the vegetarian needs. We ended up waiting 45 minutes before our first course (which was fish and not vegetarian), luckily I do eat fish and it was delicious. We then waited another 30-45 minutes before the high tea actually arrived, again not vegetarian, served by another waitress who was not aware we needed vegetarian options, however she was very apologetic and did return quite quickly with a very small wrap (literally a slice of cheese and a handful of salad, which wasn’t very nice and wasn’t eaten) and a very small sandwich. In general the high tea was probably the biggest disappointment of the entire trip. On top of that the replacement towels in the room had big stains on them, we weren’t informed about the restrictions for using the gym facilities or spa, with the hot tub and steam room out of use, and we had to figure a lot out for ourselves. We also booked a massage with the spa reception for 3pm but when we arrived were told it had been booked for 2pm and we had missed it. Luckily, the staff were very willing to help and offered to fit us in at 4 and gave us an additional 25 minutes, however when we came to check out and settle the bill, we had been charged for both sets of massages and had to ask the receptionist to refund us. Overall, the lack of organisation and communication ruined our stay and we won’t be revisiting, which is a shame because the location is idyllic and the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly just very uniforme"
"Had our annual Christmas party with my work here. Stayed in the hotel for one night. The hotel (a stately manor) and it's surroundings (dunes ad forest) are beautiful. So was our room. There are, however, some points of feedback I would like to address. Check in was not 100% smooth. The location of the reception is a bit cramped, tucked away in a corner next to the entrance. I felt the check in process was a bit uncoordinated. When we were shown to our room, we had to walk quite some bit to get there. The (young) member of staff accompanying us, left my wife struggling with here bags. Luckily, another member of staff who we encountered further along the way did offer assistance. Christmas dinner was good. I really liked the wine menu, including one of my favourite red wines, which was a joy to drink again. As mentioned, our room was very nice. Really good bed, very good sleeping experience. The next morning, we wanted to go the spa, although we found some booklets with a lot of information, none included the opening hours of the spa. We decided to head over here in our robes, only to find out that the spa would open at 10 am (daily), which I find to be quite late and not in sync with breakfast times (until 10 am, 11 am in weekends) and check out time (12 noon). Breakfast was very, very good with a lot of fresh products on offer. Even a bottle of sparkling wine, which you could pour yourself as per your discretion. I liked the fact that most of the products were local, coming from local vendors and/or initiatives. Breakfast staff was very friendly, providing good service. Concluding: although we had a good stay, there were some flaws in service. The fact that the hotel and restaurant was very busy with guest and diner parties cannot be taken into consideration. For the price paid, I would expect service to be flawless and consistent. Only at breakfast I encountered service levels really being up to par. So my end verdict for our stay is an average rating, rating it three out of four."
"Stayed here as we really wanted to dine out again and in Covid times this means staying over at the same time... The hotel is beautifully located, has a grand style and the interior is like walking into Downtown Abbey. The young employee at the checkin counter was a bit too jovial to our taste but maybe we’re just getting too old. The room had a perfect size, nice shower and separate toilet. Even though we first switched on the aircon, followed by switching of the aircon and fully opening the balcony door, the room remained extremely hot. Dinner was served on the ground floor and really tasty. High quality and nice wine pairing. No problem at all to add a cheese platter to our 3 course meal. The service was as may be expected thus we left happy. Back to the room; still warm. After a night of sweating, tossing and turning I cannot conclude otherwise than that it’s a shame that such a hotel has bedding that is synthetic. I’ve stayed in many more top hotels that do manage to have high hygiene standards and conformable natural bedding . "

"There are a couple of things that could have been better during our stay. I understand it is a difficult situation during the Corona virus but how the hotel handled the difficulties with the guests could have been way better and I hope after reading this they will change their way of working with it. A couple days before our booking we called the hotel for some clarification about dining in the restaurant. We were told we could make a reservation when checking in for either 5-7pm or 7-9pm. We could not make a reservation on the phone. When we arrived we wanted to make the reservation for 7-9 but the only available time was 5-7 because of all the restaurants in town are closed we chose this time. When we were seated we were able to choose from a very small menu. When our first dish arrived (carpaccio) we were surprised that it was smoked meat, it was very different from the carpaccio we expected, when we informed the waiter that it was not put in the menu that it was smoked carpaccio he literally ran away. It was a very uncomfortable experience. Later on we wanted to go for a swim, however without informing us, you have to make a reservation to access the pool and it was fully booked. The swimming pool was one of the main reasons we chose this hotel. We spend the rest of our time mostly at the hotel bar, which didn’t really provide any basic service. Most of the time we had to walk to the bar and wait for the bartender to come and give the drinks and we had to walk the drinks ourself to the table. These were a few of the weirdest experiences we’ve had during our stay. Not to mention the staff did not do anything with our complains and said “I’m sure you’re not satisfied but it’s a very hard time for us too at the moment.” I myself have worked in multiple 4 star hotels and this is not how you treat your guests, the 4 stars this hotel has is a shame. (Btw wouldn’t recommend booking breakfast, definitely overpriced.)"
"This hotel was a great find, the rooms were spacious and well presented and the staff very helpful and courteous and very accommodating. The food was exceptional and would highly recommend staying here great hotel"
"The Palace is an old, but beautiful hotel. The staff were nice and we had a good time staying in Noordwijk. The rooms were clean, the bed comfortable. Because of corona, we were allowed to use the pool by our own. That was pretty nice, though the pool is not big enough for swimming."

"I have never stayed in a hotel with such a terrible customer service. The situation got that bad that I had to cancel my credit card to make sure these people do not steal money from me. I hardly do not recommend this hotel to anybody. So what has happened? A friend of mine planed her wedding in Noordwijk. For the guests they reserved 30 rooms at De Baak Seaside and asked their guests who needs a room. I took one double room for one night and wrote to the hotel that my boyfriend and me would like to stay a second night. To guarantee the reservation I had to give them my credit card number. 2 month before the wedding the bridal couple wrote an email to all guests who had a room that they had to pay all rooms in advance to make sure that the reservations are not canceled. So they asked us to pay them the amount for our room. For me that was 226,60€. When we arrived a day before the wedding (Friday) the receptionist told us that we had to pay the first night because the bridal couple had only paid for one night for each guest. Luckily the groom was already at the hotel, so when I wrote him about the issue he came by within 5 minutes. After a 30min discussion the receptionist finally accepted that we already had paid. The next morning I have noticed that the hotel has blocked 1.345,30€ from my credit card. When I asked at the reception what this was for even after 30min they couldn't give me an answer. I asked them to unblock the money as quick as possible. The receptionist told me they would do so on Monday when the admin is back. When we left on Sunday the receptionist asked me if we had a nice stay. When I asked him if he was kidding he looked at me as if he didn't understand although he witnessed all the discussions I had on the reception - two of them with him in person at the beginning of our stay. If he would have asked "How was your stay apart from the issues with the bookings which we will solve tomorrow?" I would have reacted totally different because I would have felt valued as a customer. Everyone can do mistakes but acting as if nothing has happened - that's just arrogant and unnecessary. But unfortunately the story hasn't ended here. I wrote the hotel a message on Monday because the money was still blocked. They didn't answer the whole day. So I wrote a public post on the wall of their Facebook page to get their attention. Within 5min they answered that they will get back to me as soon as possible. The next day in the morning they unblocked the money and wrote me an email at 10:00h to confirm that. An hour later I got an email from the same person telling me again that she just realized that one night hasn't been paid by me and another guest from the wedding (who I do not even know). And she asked me if she can just take the money for both rooms from my credit card again! When I saw her mail at the evening I wrote back that I do not want her to take any money from me especially not for a guest and a room I do not even know! What the hel"
"I have stayed here twice. It’s a great location, clean rooms, great breakfast. The beds are comfortable. The rooms could do with a renovation with the furniture, the peek a boo glass in the shower might be a good taste for some but doesn’t work for a family. The service at the bar is very slow. The view is fantastic."
"Located directly at the promenade the rooms offer a great view towards the ocean. Rooms are friendly and clean, unfortunately no balconies! The breakfast was very good with an excellent selection of cheese! Tea and coffee are offered for free during the day."

"Located just at the edge of the busier town area it’s easy to find as you drive into Noordwijk. Free parking available on site but as it’s not reservable, it’s very possible it’s full when you get there - especially at the weekend. Access to the beach and town takes only a few minutes short walk. Room and hotel were spotless, bed was comfortable and the staff were very professional and friendly. Breakfast varied, freshly stocked and plentiful. The bar is great - serves a great gin and tonic with nibble nuts. Opportunity to use the wellness facilities of the local spa and bikes can be hired on site. Points for improvement lie in the lack of airco or ventilation in the room. The room opens up via a large sliding door to the balcony, which if you are street side as our room was, is incredibly noisy! The lamp on the balcony can’t be switched off from the room as it’s on an automatic switch. It gives a disturbing amount of light into the room if you want the sliding doors open at night. The bath has a strange shower construction as the shower head is positioned on the side wall rather than behind the taps. Makes sure the whole bathroom is sprayed during a shower. It’s now time for all hotels to stop providing shower gel etc in individual plastic bottles! Let’s think about the environment and start using refillable ones."
"I had to be there for a few business related meetings. Coming in an hour earlier then check in time the treatment with the Reception desk was as unpleasant as I have seen. Very unfriendly and the climax was the proposal to leave my bag in the public area, where everybody could grab it rather hen offering a locked area. Haven't had that before. The relatively unfriendly/uninterested treatment at the reception continued throughout the stay, in particular when it came to the particulars of the Corona related organization of breakfast. That there are rules is ok and required, but some friendly explanation on how exactly they are in this Hotel would have been a bonus. The Hotel is a bit dated, rooms aren't too spacy. On the desk, there aren't may power plugs(two in my room, and one was used for the fixed line handheld). Bring a multi plug. WiFi was good and quick. The location is nice of course, close to beach and shops. The Restaurant(Dylans) is excellent(see other review). There is construction going on in the back, but it wasn't too loud and should be over in a few weeks. All by all service wise a disappointing visit, in a Hotel with good options, which should be used for some renovation(Corona allowing of course) and some client orientation in the area of treating clients friendly. "
"We dropped by for one night before heading back home. It was a wonderful stay. Staff at reception always friendly. Coffee & tea facilities at the cosy reception area was a joy to have. They upgraded our 3pax room to quad sharing cottage on ground floor facing garden. Very spacious for Amsterdam standard. Very convenient to get to. Take Bus 397 & stop at Leidseplein, right in front of Marriot Hotel. (25min bus ride) It's a 5min walk from there. Can get return tickets for 397at 11 euros. Breakfast was reasonably priced at 10euros."

Spiegelstraat 4, Haarlem, Noord-Holland, Netherlands
"The experience was precisely described on the website. I chose to stay in the Province during my solo travel. The room and bunks were clean. The windows on the north side opened allowing air into the room and the roof windows had shades to open allowing in light. Each bed has a lamp, USB power, and plug. The bedding was clean. The mattress was just right with sufficient room for my somewhat tall and large frame. Having no WiFi in the room was pleasant. When needed, a quick trip to the common room allowed for internet access to recap the day past and plan for the next. Located a short easy walk from the city center made for a nice quiet area and quick access to the heart of Haarlem. Visit the vendors when present at the Grote Markt. Breakfast was quite filling. I could not quite finish the largest, "I’m Loving it All." The egg was well prepared, bread with excellent crumb, and the cheese... I asked about the cheese. They pointed me to the local vendor and now I have some with me for a few more meals. Beverages were hot, coffee, and cold beer. All served promptly and with suggestions for the style of the moment. Other guests appeared to enjoy their time, meals, and interactions with the staff. One fellow guest even joined me for dinner with my friends that evening. HELPFUL!!! That appears to be the watchword for those employed at Hello I'm Local. Upon arrival, they promptly greeted me but ensured that the current customer was well cared for first. Each person with whom I interacted spoke several languages and promptly switched to that most comfortable for the guest. Each day of my stay they provided information and tips. As I departed, one staff member spent quite a bit of time with me to figure out the last leg of my journey in Holland."
"Amazing experience, an amazing place, amazing people. My fiance and I booked 2 beds in a shared room, when we had arrived we were offered a privet bedroom for free. Right at the beginning they gave us a city map and showed us all the places to visit which was pleasant and helpful... and you feel the guys LOVE what they do and are truly committed to the job they do.IF Nederland than you have to visit the place.Shure again."
"This is a fantastic hostel in the heart of Haarlem. The staff are incredibly friendly, accommodating, and helpful. I have stayed in many hostels in my lifetime, and this is the best one to date. 10/10 for cleanliness, comfort, amenities, atmosphere, friendliness and good vibes in general!! Thanks so much for the great stay. : )"
