One night in a quick three-day trip to Zanzibar. Wished I could have stayed longer at the Park Hyatt. I had an ocean view room. Great view, quiet location, could hear the quiet sounds of the waves at night, even though closed doors. Great food, good facilities, excellent overall experience.

The location of the hotel is very central, which is why we have chosen this hotel. Our dinner on the terrace then showed us what service is. We had to wait for the beer 1/2 h. After getting a bottle of wine, it took another 1 1/4 h. Just forgotten - the cooler was already there. The restaurant had 5 tables covered and at least 3 servers! This service passed over the 3 days. One of the only 3 sunscreens was long defect!

Excellent historic location in Stonetown, beachfront and close to everything. The staff was really friendly, and was able to help me out with an early arrival. The room was very comfortable. The pool was great as well. The breakfast had a wide variety of choices. I had dinner at the hotel and the food was very good as well. The doorman went above and beyond to help me get my suitcase fixed since the wheel was broken by Air Tanzania.

Excellent hotel with exceptional staff, great food and lovely bedrooms. The Serena is a literal oasis from the chaos of Stonetown and I could not fault it at all. We had a great time here and I'd be delighted to return again in the future. (Providing I can still make it up all those stairs!) I was reading a novel set in Zanzibar whilst here and it was a joy to read about the hotel, whilst literally staying in it.

While the hotel is gorgeous and the location ideal, it's really Daniela and her staff that are the true gems of Stone Town. They were so wonderful and welcoming, always asking about our days and checking to ensure we had everything we needed. The food was delicious and the rooms were incredibly spacious and comfortable. If you can navigate the streets of Stone Town, then this hotel is no more than a 10-15 minute walk from all the sights. When I return to Zanzibar (because of course I will), this is where I'll book!

There are not many places to go shopping in Stone Town on Sand Island. The rooms here are relatively small. If you think you want to live at this price level, there are a lot of surrounding areas, but the conditions are more general and the price/performance ratio is not very high. The hotels in Africa are generally better than those in Southeast Asia. It’s quite expensive. The table in the room is dusty. As a Hilton, I shouldn’t. It can be seen that this hotel spent a lot of money in the past, but the decoration is outdated. Only the bed and pillows are very comfortable, because on the island, there are still some Humid, the hotel has its own scent, but I don’t like it very much, and there is no swimming pool in this hotel

The hotel is very close to Stone Town, but it is relatively hard to find in the alley. There are road signs on the roadside, so you need to pay attention. The breakfast restaurant is on the top floor, and the view is not bad, you can see the sea.

I had a very thrilling time at Tembo House.
The location of the hotel is by the beach, so the view was very art for dinner and breakfast. The same party together also admired.
I am willing to visit again. Staff was friendly and highly recommended.

Reviews From Real Travelers
I traveled to Zanzibar after climbing Kilimanjaro this past July and decided to stay at The Seyyida. I had originally booked this trip for 2020 but we all know how that story ended…The staff at The Seyyida were generous enough to move my booking to 2021, andddd then again to 2022 when my trekking group postponed the trip a second time (still due to Covid). The hotel itself is beautiful. I had a room with a ocean view and I felt like royalty. The bed was HUGE, the bathroom lovely, and the balcony (albeit small) offered a *STUNNING* view. They offer to spray mosquito repellent every night and, although I do highly recommend taking them up on this offer, it does have quite a lingering smell. So plan to be out of your room for dinner or a tour for a couple of hours. The rooftop restaurant is beautiful and offers an amazing view of the city and ocean. The hotel staff was nothing short of amazing. When my hair dryer broke, they found me another. When I needed more towels, they brought me them immediately. When my driver never showed up for a a tour I had booked, they arranged for a new tour and a driver was there in 5min. They mailed a postcard for me when I asked where the bearer post office was! They let me leave my suitcases there after I checked out because my ferry wasn’t until the afternoon—and they even helped me carry my *very* large duffel (from climbing the mountain) all the way to the ferry!!! I also had an amazing massage here on a rainy day when I wasn’t sure what to fill my day with. The front lobby is unreachable by car, but it is perfectly located, and quick/easy by foot to meet a driver on the road. Within walking distance of so much. I didn’t use the pool, but it looked lovely as well. It’s not very big, but big enough to sit and relax. Cannot speak highly enough about the wonderful front desk workers (and all other staff) and this beautiful place.

The good/ great
Food absolutely beautiful, the breakfast are fantastic, staff are absolutely lovely and can't do enough for you, rooms are clean, quaint and fully of lovely fittings and pictures. Veiw from roof top at night is just gorgeous. Location fantastic, everything easily accessible. Staff super helpful and thoughfull. The hotel is very old but absolutely adorable and full of character. They have gorgeous wines too and they're fairly priced. Gorgeous little court yard with pool and tropical plants throughout the the
Not so good. WiFi mostly off or very poor so I couldn't get much work done. Beds are very firm, caused me a bit of hip pain at times because they're so hard. Soft Mattress topper option would be good in order to solve this.
Would recommend? Absolutely!
