"this 5-star is wonderfully located and close to many of the Harz's highlights. Great start- end point for hiking or biking! Classy hotel with beautiful dining (and breakfast) area facing the lake. Excellent kitchen, very sophisticated. Bartender very knowledgeable and also a funny chap. One small comment if I may: bar should always be open in a 5-star, also on Sunday evening. Bedrooms spacious with excellent quality of bed, good shower, very silent rooms. Charging our Tesla (at no additional cost) was just wonderful, thank you so much hotel for embracing the future. Other electric cars also welcome thanx to the other double charger they have on the parking lot (both Tesla and RWE chargers 22 kW allowing for fast charging, great). Liebe Gruesse aus Holland and see you next year!!"
"I attend a conference here and staid only one night, we had a conference package. Check in very quick and friendly, spacious room and great bed. Shower big, even no walk-in. Service during the conference very good. Barbecue in the evening with great service and good food. Breakfast quality and selection perfect. Nice Spa, even I had no time but I visited to get an opinion. Area around the hotel very quite. Great people, very good food and nice rooms ! Price was also ok. "
"During the Years, we have been staying at many 5-star hotels, but we have never experienced a service as bad as this. After checking-in, we went to our room and when we opened the door to the room, it had an awful smell. All the windows where open and even that could not take the terrible smell away. We complained at the Reception and they promised to have a look, while we had dinner at their restaurant. After dinner, we went back to the Reception and they said that they had checked the room and nothing was the matter. We asked the receptionist to go with us, and when we came to the room, they had sprayed perfume over all over the room to cover the bad smell, the result was even worse. A combination of cigar, wet dog and perfume. We then asked to speak with the manager. He excused, and said we could have an upgrade to a suite the day after. We were going to stay there for 4 nights, so that was a fair solution. A few moments after the manager came back and excused but there was no suites available, so we could get a discount for staying in this room. He would be back soon with a proposition. He never came back, and when we contacted the Reception again, they told us he had gone home. The smell was still very awful, so we decided to drive home to Denmark instead."
