The Egyptian Museum is located near Tahrir Square in the center of Cairo, and it displays relics from ancient Egypt to ancient Roman rule. Come here to witness the golden mask of the Egyptian pharaoh, the treasure of the town hall, and visit the mummies of many pharaohs and royal aristocrats in the mummy exhibition hall to learn about the production process. The entrance museum is a quaint brick red building with two floors. After entering the museum, you can ask a tour guide or buy a visiting guide, which will be very helpful for you to understand these artifacts. The design of the entrance to the museum incorporates the characteristics of ancient Egyptian art. The outer profile of the gate is a circular arch. In the niches on both sides of the arch, there are reliefs that Europeanize the image of the pharaoh, one of which holds a papyrus, the other Holding lotus flowers, symbolizing the north and south of ancient Egypt respectively. The first floor of the museum is displayed in the order of the ancient history of Egypt, where you can see precious artifacts from the period of the ancient kings to the Roman rule in the fifth and sixth centuries AD. There are many sitting statues with different shapes, such as the cross-legged secretary sitting statue. In addition, there are exhibits of ancient Egypt, Greece and Rome, mainly wood carvings and stone carvings. Compared with the exhibition hall on the first floor, the exhibition hall on the second floor is displayed in the form of a special exhibition room, and the exhibits are more precious than those on the first floor. Showroom. Here you can witness pharaoh's golden funeral mask, golden coffin, golden throne and so on. In addition, there are more than 1,700 unearthed cultural relics in Tutankhamun's exhibition room worthy of appreciation. The Mummy Showroom and the Mummy Showroom on the southwest corner of the second floor is a very attractive place in the Egyptian Museum. There are more than 20 mummies of Egyptian pharaohs and their concubines. For example, the colorful wooden coffin lid of Astem Kabu is 205 cm high. The eyes and eyebrows are inlaid with enamel, giving people a sense of grace and luxury. In addition, mummies known as "Fayoum Portraits" can be seen here. This type of mummy draws human faces on wooden boards and waits until they are dead before placing the portraits on the embalmed mummy's face. Some of the mummies stored in the Egyptian Museum are more than 3,500 years old, but they are still well preserved, and some can clearly see hair and toenails. War and Peace Exhibition Room Among the mummies, the most well-preserved remains are the remains of Ramses II (c. 1317-1251 BC) of the 19th Dynasty of the New Kingdom. Ramses II created a precedent for the conclusion of a peace treaty with foreign enemies, the Hittites, in the history of Egypt, so the exhibition room where Ramses II's body was placed is called the "War and Peace Exhibition Room". After visiting all the exhibits, I came to the garden of the museum, where there are many statues of well-known Egyptologists, as well as outdoor exhibits such as sphinxes, obelisks, and stone carvings. When you finish visiting, walk out of the museum, you will see a statue on the right side of the gate, it is the founder of the Egyptian Museum.
Reviews from Real Guests:
Plum9195: The Egyptian Museum in Cairo is over 100 years old. It contains so many Egyptian treasures that a new museum is being built closer to the Pyramids in Giza to house and better display all the treasures. It can be very crowded, so try to go in the afternoon. It is open on Thursday evenings from 5-9 pm and that is the best time to go because there are no crowds. I suggest you use the tour guide group "Walk Like An Egyptian" they are well respected, respond to emails quickly and are very knowledgeable. Going to the museum with a guide who can explain the importance of what you are seeing will greatly enhance your experience. There are so many treasures in this one building that you could spend months and never see them all. This is a certain"must do" even if you do not think you like museums you will like this one. The basic ticket does not include the Mummy Room, that is extra. But you will still see many mummy's, even if you do not pay to go to the Mummy Room. You will also see King Tut's treasure.
Trip.com User: Yesterday, I was directly from the airport to the Egyptian Museum and was extremely worried that our large 28-carry baggage had no place to put. But in order to arrange the trip on the plane, I want to buy [Cairo pass] early, so I still have to go to the Egyptian Museum! When I arrived, the museum had a safe baggage counter, very unexpected! And free luggage! Finally, although not available [ Cairo PASS ] (the staff claimed that the date could not be set for opening) we can buy the floor rolls to visit the venue immediately without worry! Enjoy the historical heritage of the museum thousands of years ago! Feel very satisfied!

The castle stands tall and was built by General Saladin in the 11th century to defend against invasion. Scale The castle covers a very large area and is very majestic. The city wall is 2 meters high. The castle is divided into an inner city and an outer city. The rulers of all dynasties have left their relics here. The ancient canal, Youssef well, and the National Military Museum are all monuments worth seeing. Castle Highlights There is a green grass in front of the castle, climb the castle, stroll in the courtyard, see the exquisite doors and windows and the finely carved bathroom. Then you can enter the temple and visit the resplendent inner hall to feel its solemnity. There is also a kiosk outside the temple, which is a great viewpoint overlooking Cairo. Other buildings are in the castle, and dense signposts guide other important facilities within the castle, as well as cafes and Italian restaurants dedicated to tourists. Afterwards, you can also visit the Military Museum, which was originally part of the Royal Palace and was later converted into a Military Museum. It displays military items such as uniforms and medals. You can also take a walk in the garden area. The garden in the castle is also a museum. The scattered columns on the grass and the remains of other mosques are the exhibits. If you have time, take a stroll to the other end of the castle to visit the Suleymani Pasha Mosque and climb the tower for a view. This is an Ottoman building from the early 16th century. The exquisite minaret, the carved pulpit, the painted scales and the frescoes in the tomb are all exquisite and worth savoring.

Cairo Tower is located on Zamalek Island in the Nile River, modeled after Egypt's national flower, the lotus flower. Climbing to the Cairo Tower not only provides a panoramic view of Cairo's cityscape, but it is also a better place to overlook the night scene at night. This reinforced concrete TV tower is 187 meters high, which is equivalent to a 60-story building. It is the tallest building in North Africa. The foundation stone was laid by the late Egyptian President Nasser. It was completed and opened on April 1, 1961. Above the entrance of Cairo Tower is a bronze eagle with a height of 8 meters and a width of 5 meters, which is the symbol of the Republic of Egypt. Overlooking Cairo from the observatory, the entire tower body is inlaid with 2.5 million beige tiles. The tower body is designed like a lotus flower, which is very elegant. The observatory is located on the 16th floor. When it is close to noon or dusk, standing on the circular observatory overlooks the panoramic view of Cairo with a clearer sight. To the east of the tower, three bridges are connected along the opposite bank of the Nile, namely the Tahrir Bridge, the October 6th Bridge and the AbulEla Bridge. Memphis is located about 32 kilometers south of Cairo. It was the capital of ancient Egypt during the Old Kingdom and one of the oldest cities in the world. But now it has become a ruin, only an open-air museum and dilapidated stone statues remain. Giant Ramses II Statue The Memphis Museum is very small, with only a lying statue of Ramses II in the museum. The statue was originally about 14 meters high and was carved from a single block of limestone, which is quite exquisite. Although 3,200 years old, the hieroglyphs on the statue are still clearly visible. In an earthquake, the statue's legs and left hand were broken, so the statue is now lying on the floor of the museum hall. If you want to see it clearly, you can go to the balcony on the second floor and make a detour. Outside the Sphinx Museum of Amenphis II is a small garden, you can see some broken stone sculptures, one of which represents the Sphinx of Amenphis II (Amenphis II) is more than 4 meters high , carved from a single 80-ton rock.

Mosque of Muhammad Ali
Opening Hours: Open on Mon-Thu,Sat-Sun,8:00am-5:00pm
Ticket Price: 50 EGP
Recommended Length of Stay: 1-2 Hours
Location: Al Abageyah, El Khalifa, Cairo Governorate, Egypt
The temple was built in 1830 and is the largest mosque in Egypt. It is located in the Saladin Citadel of the old city of Cairo. The mosque has a typical Turkish style, and the minaret also adopts the juxtaposition of Turkish and Egyptian styles, which is not found in other mosques in Egypt. The majestic appearance The worship hall of the mosque is square, with a towering dome. The dome is about 52 meters high and 21 meters long in diameter. There are four semi-circular halls on all sides, corresponding to the main hall, and four high columns in them. There are two slender light towers on the diagonal, like two torches extending to the sky straight into the sky, the top of the tower is 85 meters above the ground, and the broad dome is covered with a layer of tin, making it eye-catching in the sun. dazzling. From a distance, the whole building gives a sober aesthetic feeling. Walking into the mosque, the inner and outer layers of the mosque wall are covered with alabaster, and when you enter the inner city of Cairo Castle, you can see its towering dome and light tower, which is majestic. The mosque is entered from the side door. After entering, there is a huge courtyard surrounded by a circle of cloisters. In the cloisters, you can see tall stone columns and exquisite doors and windows. There is a washroom in the middle of the west side of the mosque. The washroom is a beautiful pavilion with faucets on all sides. It is used for cleansing during worship. The interior and exterior walls of the well-crafted bathroom are also inlaid with alabaster tiles, so it is also known as the alabaster mosque. You can look up and see that the top of the bathroom is engraved with fine carvings, and there is a petal-shaped object on the side, which is a well. Visit the inner courtyard and in the southwest of the mosque there is a brass fence, which is the tomb of Ali, the governor of Egypt during the Ottoman Empire. He was buried here after his death in 1849, so the mosque was named after him. The hanging bell of the bell tower in the temple was a gift from King Louis Philippe of France. This iron bell tower with stained glass was also very beautiful back then, but now it is rusted and incomplete. The interior decoration of the splendid palace is splendidly decorated, with thousands of large transparent chandeliers hanging from the roof layer by layer, like a starry night sky, shining brightly, showing the splendid momentum of the hall. Countless glass ball lights and quartz glass reflecting the light make people feel the solemnity of the entire mosque under this harmonious light. There are not many interior furnishings, and the scattered stone pillars are very simple, and the traces of the years can be seen. There is the podium of the imam (the person who presides over the prayer) in the hall, and there is a small staircase surrounded by railings on the side. The top of the staircase is also the place where the imam presides over the prayer. Around the dome, there are discs painted with the names of the four caliphs. After visiting the mosque in Cairo city, you can come to the square in front of the gate. Because the Cairo castle is located on the Mugaitam hill in the eastern suburb of Cairo city, you can also look south at the whole city of Cairo from the square in front of the mosque, with a very good view. If the weather is clear, you can also see the pyramids on the other side of the Nile.
Day 3 | Afternoon
Pyramid of Menkaure nearby is the top choice before you leave Mosque of Muhammad Ali and hit the road.
Pyramid of Menkaure
Opening Hours: Open from 8:00am-4:00pm
Ticket Price: 40 EGP
Recommended Length of Stay: 1-1 Hours
Location: Al Ahram, Giza Governorate, Egypt
The Pyramid of Menkaure is one of the three major pyramids in Giza and the smaller one. This is the tomb of Pharaoh Menkaure of the Fourth Dynasty of Egypt. Inside, there is a mysterious tomb different from other tombs, and six obvious niches can be seen. It is said that when Pharaoh Mencala died, the pyramid containing his remains was not completed, and the successor Pharaoh rushed to build it. The outer layer was originally planned to be paved with red granite, but it was hastily changed to limestone only halfway through. Therefore, the original overlaid red granite remains on the outer layer of the bottom of the pyramid. Entering the Pyramid The Pyramid of Menkaure is located on the edge of the Pyramid of Khafre, and its entrance is much smaller than the Pyramid of Khufu and the Pyramid of Khafre. Enter the ladder-shaped passage through several steps of stone steps, and walk along the passage to the end to enter the tomb. This tomb is relatively small, and there is an entrance in the tomb, both of which are connected to the main hall. The vaulted ceiling leads to the next burial chamber, which is unique in that it has a vaulted ceiling. The full, finely crafted vaulted ceiling can be seen when entering the main screen room through the stepped passage. The niche in the floor of the main burial chamber was originally for the sarcophagus, which was wrecked on its way to England and has not been found until now. Visit the Mysterious Tomb Go to the end of the stepped passage and turn right before the main tomb to enter another passage, and then you can enter a mysterious tomb. There are six distinct niches in this burial chamber. This tomb is different from what I have seen before. It may be used to hide treasures, or it may be used to bury the king's family. The specifics are unknown.
