58 reviewsIt was great. The driver was punctual, helpful, friendly, patient and easy to communicate with. We had a good time in Nara and he also stopped by a few places for us since my son really wanted to get a new Nintendo, and with his help, we found the console that my son really wanted. Driver Mr Richard also gave advice as to where to eat, shop, and visit. We had a wonderful time.

Great itinerary! Our tour leader, Suke, was very friendly and helpful, answering all our questions promptly. 👍👍👍

Nice coach service, packed schedule though so not a lot of time allowed to stay at each stop, but a good tour for a glimpse of Kyoto and Nara.
5/5
Our tour guide, Qiu Hong, was very responsible and patient, providing detailed explanations of each attraction. She also thoughtfully provided the meeting point. Before departing for the next stop, she repeatedly confirmed the number of participants.
5/5
The one-day tour allowed me to easily visit Kiyomizu-dera Temple, Fushimi Inari Shrine, and Nara Park. The entire tour included shuttle bus service, allowing for rest on the bus and leisurely exploration at each stop. Our guide, Ms. Qiu Hong, was very friendly, providing explanations of the culture and history, and recommending food and photo spots at each attraction. Thanks to her, I was able to see the deer and the sunset over Wakakusa Mountain – so much easier than traveling independently!

The overall layout and time allocation of this trip were also very good. The itinerary arrangement and the content written in the plan were consistent. The tour guide provided ample time and prepared explanations, which enhanced the entire trip and deserves praise.

Nara Day Tour - Trip Preparation & Tips

Best Photo Spots in Kyoto and Nara
- Deer Interaction: Buy official shika senbei (deer crackers, ¥150/ pack) and hold empty hands up saying "nai" (Japanese for "nothing") to avoid being chased. Feed deer deeper in Nara Park—those near tourist shops are more aggressive.
- Seasonal Adjustments: Some attractions have shorter hours in winter (Nov-Feb)—check opening times briefly before departure.
- Dining Recommendations: Try Nara specialties like kakinoha zushi (persimmon leaf sushi), black rice desserts, and Nakatanido’s fresh mochi (best eaten on the spot as it has a short shelf life).
- Luggage Storage: Leave heavy bags in lockers at Osaka/Kyoto stations—Nara’s attractions are walkable, and luggage will slow you down.
- No Advance Booking: Most Nara attractions (including Todai-ji and Kasuga Taisha) don’t require pre-booking—perfect for spontaneous trips.
