The property was overall very nice. Although it’s in some state of disrepair from hurricane Otis damage years ago. The biggest complaint we have is that they closed the lazy river/pool way too early. They close the lazy river daily at 6 PM which is absolutely ridiculous. Other Vidanta properties like Cancun allow you to swim at 2 AM if you wish. There is no reason whatsoever these pools should be closing at dinner time while on vacation it’s a waste. Do better Vidanta.

Fantastic paradise. My favourite in the world, we are always very welcomed! The rooms are spacious and luminous. Choice of restaurants with wonderful Mexican food There's a huge swimming pool where you can sip your favourite drunk, Margarita, piñas colada, beer and have the best club sandwich, hamburgers and loads of vegetables. The spa and gym have been fully renovated, its really beautiful. I must not forget to mention the night shows with regional Mexican dances very colourful and amusing.

Just returned from a great 3-week trip to the Grand Mayan in Acapulco. This resort has been a favorite of ours for over 20 years and when it was damaged by Hurricane Otis in 2023, we had our doubts that recovery would be forthcoming, especially after seeing some of the destruction still present on surrounding condo buildings as we drove from the airport. We are glad to report that Grand Mayan has made great progress in the reconstruction process and we will be back again next year. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by Bellman Alfredo who ‘welcomed us home’. Our room was spotless and kept that way by Housekeepers Maria de Rocio ( Daytime) and Angelse ( nighttime). The water in the Pool and Lazy River are sparkling clean. The miles long, flat, walking beach was pristine- New palapas have been built. Nothing better to be in a beach cabana with 2x1 Sangrias served by long time server Andreas- As an added bonus, we were able to watch whales jumping off shore. Sitting on the beach watching sunrise and sunsets is paradise. Both the onsite restaurants as well off site restaurants were up and running. Of special note on site was the excellent ‘Pozole Night’ at the Green Break on Thur nites. This was followed by Koraoke entertainment where our friends exhibited their long-suppressed singing skills. The golf course was in great shape and shuttle drivers Hector and Carlos always got us there in time to tee off. Caddy Tito was excellent at determining the correct putting line, but he was unable to correct my poor execution. We also went to an Owner’s update with Director Gina who made every effort to understand what we were interested in- a pleasant experience!! Acapulco is a paradise-great beach, beautiful resort, fantastic staff, superb weather.

The Grand Mayan in Acapulco is a fabulous resort. The grounds are just spectacular. The rooms are beautiful. The food was good too. I wish they would have told us the resort is under construction from hurricane damage and only one restaurant was open. Much of the resort was closed. They should let you know this. It was still a five star experience and will most definitely return with our extended family. We had a spectacular private tour of the city by Baldo and his driver, Daniel. Baldo was born and raised in Acapulco and was a history teacher for 10 years before becoming a tour guide. He is extremely knowledgeable about the city and its history. We had a blast with them and would recommend them for your next tour, as well. Ask for him at the taxi stand at the resort!!

I did not stay at the Grand Mayan at I stayed at the Mayan Palace but nevertheless I had a good experience the resort is very friendly kids friendly beautiful beach... we got to enjoy a whole body massage at the Beach area! but most of all our highlight of the trip was booking three tours with Miguel Angel Sotelo, who was our tour guide. Now I can call him our friend!! he was so knowledgeable of the whole area of Acapulco so he made our trip very enjoyable but at the same time we had a chance to learn about Acapulcos history and lifestyle. He tended to us in such caring ways, he was always on time, always friendly and patient, that I have nothing but good things to say about him. If we were to visit Acapulco again, I will request him again. Acapulco is SAFE, It's beautiful and the location of the Mayan resorts is gorgeous at all times you feel super safe and comfortable ❤️ staffing makes the place to be enjoyable as they ALL were beyond nice to us.. Food is good..happy hours 😋 the 👌

So...we planned a week's stay around the Grand Mayan...but NO ONE TOLD US that it was DESTROYED by Hurricane Otis. We understand that 80% of the hotels in Acapulco were damaged, but no one told us that we were booking one hotel and would end up at another. The Mayan Palace was a nice place, but NOT what we booked. RCI should have gotten this on their radar, and not advertised a hotel that is not available. Instead, people like us book something, and then end up getting the 'bait and switch' when we arrive. That being said, the Mayan Palace is another Vidanta Property, and the staff were warm, welcoming, and very friendly. There are still a few undamaged restaurants to choose from, maybe 4 of them, but nowhere near the availability that is advertised on RCI's website.

The Grand Mayan at Vidanta wasn’t the hotel that we had selected. We didn’t find out until we were dropped off at this hotel that our original hotel had been severely damaged by a hurricane and was uninhabitable. We weren’t the only guests that had this experience! There were very few guests there. Repair/maintenance was constantly going on. Fortunately for us it was an enjoyable stay even though RCI hadn’t been upfront with us.

I just returned from a week at the Grand Mayan Vidanta in Acapulco. This was my second time staying at a Vidanta resort, and first tome as a member. My experience at the Vidanta in San Jose del Cabo was very mixed, so I was unsure what to expect. Turned out to be a wonderful stay. The property is absolutely beautiful. It has gorgeous pools, some nice restaurants and many things to do. One of my favorite things was to go on the Lazy River, a raft ride which went around the property. So much fun. We spent many days beside the pool. All but one of this days were just great. We were taken care of by Maria, Ricardo and Carlos. They were all fantastic. Our hostesses were Arcelia and Deya. They both were very attentive and very helpful throughout. Cafe Lago for breakfast was also really good. The staff there also really attended to our needs. One of the project directors (I think) was Gina, and she was also very helpful and accommodating. While I would not be in any hurry to return to the Cabo loction, I will most definitely return to Acapulco.
