Dallas North - Addison

We stayed three nights April 16-19 on our first trip to Dallas. I chose the hotel based on location and previous good reviews. Maybe my expectations were too high but several issues arose during our trip. After a several hours flight, we arrived about 1030pm. It took over thirty minutes to get checked in and to our room. First the outside doors are locked and I have never encountered this at a hotel. I stood there for several minutes until the employee walked over to trip the auto door. I then stood for over 20 minutes while Eddie tried to get a guests credit card to work. He mentioned they had trouble with them but the wait was very long. The phone rang several times and the calls were put on hold. It was the first of several times that it appeared they did not have enough staff. Once we finally made it to our room, the smell of **** was very strong in the hallway. Not the hotels issue, but the continued for two days. In our room, we found it nice and clean but very cold. The heat would not work and only blew cold air. After about an hour, I called the desk and a very nice maintenance staff member brought me an electric heater. That saved the day but was our only source of warmth throughout our stay. Even though reported again the next day, no one came to address the issue or offer any options. We enjoyed the size of the room, the large size TV and modern features but heat would have been nice with unseasonably cold weather.

First off, I felt unsafe and that my car might be vandalized. With the exception of checking out, I find the staff to be extraordinarily rude. Before you think I'm Karening, I came to check in at 2:15 (admittedly my fault for not knowing the time or that check in was at 3:00). After waiting about 5 minutes while two staff members argued in the back room, the woman came out and when I said I was there to check in, she angry-sarcastically asked ”Did someone tell you to come in here because check in is at 3. Is it 3? No, it's not”. When I asked if there was something close that I could do for 40 minutes she just said no. When I asked if there was a place nearby to eat she said no, but you can drive around to find something. When I opened my room, the smell hit me like a physical blow. I wish I could photograph a smell!!! The last person must have been there a long, long time (in guessing many months) and chain smoked in it the entire time. My asthma was instantly flared (didn't have my inhaler with me, which made it worse). I immediately went back and said the room is so smoky and she said she knew and that's why I didn't get charged a deposit but there were no other rooms. I immediately went to buy cleaning supplies and air fresheners. I spent hours washing down all surfaces and walls and floor. It never really made a dent in m how bad the room reeked. I put several air fresheners on the air unit to help more. It didn't. The room was filthy. Two of the three entry door locks were broken and the door jamb was broken, like someone had kicked the door in at one point. The outside of the refrigerator was beyond nasty. The back of the toilet didn't have the right lid. The mirror was not above the sink but to the side so you had to stand against the toilet to see yourself to get ready in the morning. The bathtub didn't hold water for a bath so I had to cut off part of a bread wrapper and hold it with my heel. The toilet paper holder was loose in the wall and the toilet paper fell off every time. The toilet paper roll was almost empty on my arrival (it had 9 squares left). I was there for 8 days and never once got new towels or wash cloth. One washcloth, one hand towel and one towel was all I ever had. They also never took the trash out. The groceries I put in the refrigerator on day one froze overnight, completely ruining two crispers full of salad, fruits and veggies. The bed was like sleeping on a board. It was difficult to even get comfortable enough to fall asleep and I was in extreme pain every morning when I woke up. The pillows were comfortable, but that's it. I'm pretty sure the bedding came from the Dollar Store (if so, they over paid). There were no hangers in the closet at all. There's also no dresser, just two shelves. There was a full kitchenette but no toaster, stove, silverware, plates, bowls or glasses. I had to go buy them all for my 8 day stay. I think the pictures tell a better story of this nightmare. Btw, I travel a LOT and neve

My future granddaughter is attending college in Arlington and was cast in a Musical. My daughter in law, granddaughter and I got tickets to go see her perform at the theater in Farmers Branch. Not being familiar with the area I relied on reviews and found this place on line. It was a great find! It was very close to the theater and in a quiet area but close to everything at the same time. Being a Best Western member we got an excellent rate. The breakfast was the best I’ve had at a hotel in a very long time. Had a great variety and everything was hot and fresh. Internet worked great as well. Quiet room with comfortable beds. Would definitely stay here when in the area again.

I found it from the Internet, and the picture environment is good, and the price is more appropriate. Self-driving, convenient transportation, good environment, very large indoor space, gardens and lawns outside. It’s not far from the surrounding places to go. The only downside is that there are too few types of breakfast~

The hotel is located in ADDISON, there is an area 30 meters walk from the next door. There are many restaurants, Japanese, Chinese, Thai, etc. It is very convenient to eat. It is a 10-minute drive from WALMART, TARGET supermarket. Go to the airport and drive for 30 minutes. Hotel facilities are general, the room has a musty smell, and the bathroom sees one. Parking is convenient and free. The breakfast was rude and the same every day. A few photos of the lobby and breakfast area, the room forgot to take pictures.

Hallways smell like dog pee, **** & old BO. There were cracked out looking people hanging around front door & trashed up parking lot. Some kind of sticky liquid spill remained on front entrance walkway with no cleanup for the 20hrs we came & went. The desk staff had english skills that are barely intelligible. The bathroom has noTP dispenser, just a roll sitting on the sink. The carpeting everywhere is FOUL, but thats what you get from a $60 hotel that accepts pets. The foldout couch in our suite was something I wouldnt even rest my purse on. One of our queen bed frames was broken & the bed rocked like a canoe. But THE BEST OF ALL was the TWO smoke detectors that started randomly chirping at 4:15am!! Neither of them had any battery backup we could find to disable & one of them wasnt even hard wired into the ceiling connection….BIG HEALTH & SAFETY NO-NO!!! Tsk-tsk-tsk Choice Hotels!!! I started wheezing in middle of night bc of crap pumping into room from AC…whole thing was hideous & 6,000 of my Choice Points were spent on that miserable night. Changed next 2 days of reservations to Best Western down the road. $20 more/night but INFINITELY better accomodations. Shame on you, Choice Hotels! Somebody is not monitoring your hotel management. That place was a glorified crack house. Avoid-Avoid-Avoid!!!
