Hotel Rotonde

Lovely Hotel with amazingly helpful staff. Arriving by Car from M****ille airport finding where to park the car isn't clear (Its next to the hotel, the closed electronic gate across the wide pavement next to the hotel) but once we knew all was good. We didn't really use the hire car much apart from arrival and departure day preferring to walk around AIX and getting the bus to M****ille conveniently located in the depot just a few hundred meters outside the hotel The hotel is quite compact with a small bar / restaurant area directly in reception which provided a lovely european breakfast and a reasonably well stocked bar for the evening (although it closed early for a hotel bar). A small outdoor area by the front doors allows diners to take food and drinks and eat in the sun shine A lift is available to all floors. Our triple room was large with a big bathroom and plenty of space - plenty of plug sockets for charging devices by beds and sockets for hair dryers / razors in the bathroom. Plenty of storage space, and a safe in the room. Ideally located just a short walk from the centre of Aix and its many bars and restaurants. A stones throw from the bus/coach depot and a short walk to the Aix main rail station, giving many opportunities to explore the area.

Great location next to bus station and old town. Not too noisy, even with train tracks nearby. Friendly staff and good breakfast buffet. Would be good to add security cameras to hallways. AC/heat control in rooms appears to be disabled unless you make a special request to the front desk. No screens on windows, so mosquitoes can be a problem at night if you want the windows open.

Good location to the city area. Great service. Sketchy parking. Room was meh. TV remote didn’t work and AC was just okay.

This is the closest one can stay to the bus station. As mentioned in another review this in not a train station, for traveling with TGV one needs to take a bus. So we considered it as very convenient. Aix has a nice mix of old and new tourist attractions, so staying 2 nights is to be recommended. Although at a busy road we had no noise problems, nice room, good breakfast. Would stay here again.

Very nice hotel with easy access to the best of Aix, as well as the bus station.

Soap dispensers were difficult to squeeze.

This is a nice hotel. Room was really big, modern and clean and very reasonably priced compared to other hotels in the area. Breakfast was basic but similar to any breakfast in France, even better , nice yoghurts , fresh boiled eggs , fresh fruit, bread, pastries etc.

We decided to stay in Aix for a few nights before travelling on to a house in Provence. Aix is a wonderful place and this hotel is ideally placed, being close to the town centre - 5 mins walk to the Cours Mirabeau. It has parking too! Since we were last at the hotel, it has clearly changed hands and has had a bit of a face lift, which has made a difference: it now feels cared for! The room was good and had eveything we needed. Breakfast was a little basic, but again, was all we needed. We'll stay here again, I have little doubt.

The team were very helpful indeed and couldn’t do enough for us. Recommend this hotel if you want something stress free when visiting Aix. We like an apartment usually but this was ideal for our short stay as we were moving on to Avignon the next day
