Lovely setting, very nice staff, very good food at a reasonable price. The only problem was that my bathroom and shower floor were dangerously slippery. It needs a paint or decal treatment or replacement. It caused me to fall, and I have had persistent back pain for weeks now.

The property is well taking care. Spectacular views.The Christmas decoration was beautiful. The room are super neat and I love the detail than the garden outside match the name of the chalet. The food is great and the service even better. Everything about this place is amazing👏. Way to wow!! your customers. Congratulations!!!

A fantastic location just outside San Jose, which made for a superb location first few days in Costa Rico. Close to Poas volcanoe La Paz waterfalls and the fantastic Cinchona waterfall trails.
Staff absolutely first class; warm welcome and extremely helpful. One bag failed to arrive with oyr party - staff so helpful to ensure airline delivered to chalets within 36 hours.

Nice place to stop for the night on the way from SJO to La Fortuna. Very close to Poas Volcano. Beautiful grounds, tasty breakfast, fast service.

In a beautiful location. No TV in villa, just be aware. Check in was a breeze and great service. Not far from La Paz Waterfall and gardens. Free breakfast was good and there is a good soda around the few corners of road. Would stay again.

Pride of ownership, and it shows. Quaint chalet, wonderful restaurant with a beautiful view of the valley and close to all amenities and natural tourist attractions. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Excellent value.

We had an amazing 1 night stay here. We loved the individual challets, the cute heaters that look like miniature fire places, the views, the grazing cows and strawberry farm right on premises. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious-farm to table, and staff were super nice and helpful! This was a great place to stay near Poas volcano (30 min) and La Paz garden. On the way to Arenal from this area we saw an amazing waterfall right by the road and best yet, it was free!

Hortensia‘s is a respite with a beautiful view. It’s very peaceful and lush in their property. The chalets were very clean and perfect for two people. The staff for the hotel and the restaurant are very gracious and want to help in anyway they can. This is the perfect place to stay when visiting the La Paz waterfall gardens. We would definitely recommend them and stay here the next time we are in the area.
