Spencer Suites Albany

We've stayed in the Spencer Suites once before and this time ended up in the same suite as before - suite two. There's parking right outside the suites and a lock box where the keys can be accessed on arrival. The suite is part of an 1880s building and very nicely appointed. There's a lovely bed with bedside tables and two comfy chairs. This area is on a slightly raised space. Down below is a small dining table and two chairs adjacent to a sink, bench, small fridge and cupboards with eating and drinking utensils. A small bathroom and toilet area is behind a door. All very tastefully done and very clean. And not too cramped. Recommended as a place to stay. Albany is rather hilly but we spent most of out time walking rather than driving as the town centre and cafes are very close.

We arrived at the Suites a little unsure of what truly we would find having experienced both the wonderful and disappointing on our previous visits to Australia. I am very glad to say that this place was excellent. We had Suite 1 and immediately on entering felt at home. It is extremely well presented and homely with excellent facilities - a bedroom / living room, a huge bathroom / laundry room ( sounds odd I know but works so very well) and a fabulous fully equipped kitchen / dining area (we had intended to eat breakfast at the wonderful Cosi's cafe every morning (see separate review) but we're so impressed with the facilities decided instead to eat 'at home'). The bed was so comfortable I had the best few nights sleep I have had for ages. There was milk in the fridge and tea bags (including herbal which we both drink - could have done with a few more though !!) and an excellent supply of both ground coffee and coffee bags. All in all a great 'home from home'. Only, and very small, complaint is that according to the 'manual' there was an automated light in the hallway as there is a step between the bedroom and hallway we couldn't find any such mechanism and had to keep the hall light on as would have been potentially dangerous in the darkness of the night. Don't let this in any way put you off visiting it is a wonderful apartment in a superb location within easy walking distance of Albany restaurants and pubs.

Excellent location with short walk to lots of restaurants and shops. I am in apartment 1 which is very spacious and has everything you could need whilst on holidays. I did bring extra hangers for my clothes as I do bring a lot. Nice and light in the kitchen /dinner with lots of windows. Very nice luxurious touches in bathroom and a very nice comfortable bed and couch. Smart TV to get I view etc. good value. Very quiet location. Very clean and well maintained. Would choose to stay here again.

We had an amazing stay at Spencer Suites. Beautiful architecture, big and spacious rooms, Kitchenette and ample parking space. Its just 30m away from Earl of Spencer restaurant and pub and some 100-150m away from India restaurant. We only stayed for 2 nights here but thoroughly enjoyed our stay. 10/10 recommended.

My friend and I stayed here for 2 nights on a trip down to Albany and really enjoyed it. The location was great and walking distance to everything. John greeted us when we arrived and was very friendly. The room had everything we needed for a couple of nights and had some recommendations for food & walks to do. Would stay here again!

Lovely little apartment with parking usually available right outside. Clean and well equipped. Lots to do in Albany and everything close by. If you are English you'll love the Earl of Spencer next door (Theakstons on tap!). Plenty of other eating options close by.

We love staying in historical accommodation. Location is fantastic, easy walking to town and to the historical Earl of Spencer pub for a meal. The positives were the suite was clean and roomy and had electric blanket with good tv ie netflix etc. However, it was pretty cold so we had the heater on most of time to keep the chill out. Kitchen very basic but was adequate. Bed was too firm. Bathroom was freezing so we moved the portable heater into it which did the trick. Some recommendations would be nice toiletries but mostly a coffee machine would have made been great.

Stayed in suite 2 of this charming historic accommodation. Hosts John and Lynette were welcoming and John was happy to share local knowledge about attractions and where to eat. The accom itself was small but had all the amenities required. Shower was hot and had good water pressure which is always a bonus. Location was perfect being next door to The Earl of Spencer Hotel that served great meals and also only a couple minutes walk to town. The only downsides were minor in that you could hear what was going on in the cottage next door, floor boards creaked noisily and as we're tall people, we found the bed too small.

It’s soooo expensive for the quality. We get that’s it is a heritage building but if you going to charge these prices please have basic comforts. Was not cleaned properly from previous guests. Heating not working. Small and cramped. Not worth the money
