Breakfast was to die for. The rooms were pleasant and the staff were attentive enough that the hospitality from the staff and the catering was exceptional. (Special thanks to the receptionists for taking the time to attend to my needs at the high hour at 23:00) On top of that the performances were the highlight of my time at the hotel. An excellent experience especially from the international dances performances. I want to give my gratitudes to the performers Lauro, Yoandry, Ieyanna Suyin, Cinder and Nirma for such a wonderful time. Their chemistry ontop of their amazing engagement with the audience was truly a testament to the welcoming atmosphere of the hotel. And of course it goes without saying their perfromances was absolutely amazing! Had me absolutely clapping like seal.

We arrived and was informed about the karaoke as part of the entertainment for the night. Even with a smaller crowd, the MC (Yoandry) did a great job and encouraged people to join in and sing. The music had a DJ (Rey). He mixed and filled in fantastic music between singers and kept the crowd engaged. He also made sure that everyone's voices sounded right with he proper levels. The whole evening was flanked by dancers (Nirma and Lauro) doing backup, to really make it feel like a full experience. There also was a fantastic singer (Dagana) who's beautiful voice filled the space. They really were a multitalented and diverse bunch. Everyone was super friendly to go with the fantastic drinks. Looking forward to seeing them perform and work with guests again!

I think it should be illegal that they have this as a 5 star resort. It is more like a 3 star. Cleanliness - the hotel is dirty. Corridors, restaurants etc. the floors don’t get cleaned often. You will see a spillage sitting in the same place for hours. It is filthy. Food - horrendous. There is only one main buffet restaurant. If you want to eat the same thing day in, day out then you’ll be happy. The lack of variation is awful. The food is bland. And mostly cold. They just top up warm food occasionally on top of the cold food. Lunch is pretty much always going to be the same as dinner with a couple items swapped out. You will see the same items reappearing every other day. It is a help yourself drinks situation - once seated - get your own coffee (which is very watery & all machine), pour your own wine drinks etc. the same wine everyday. Food options are very limited. I ate chips, potatoes, pizza, fish fingers everyday for 5 days. They have 1 bottle of sparkling wine at breakfast but it isn’t there every day. Food will fall on the floor or be spilled and not get cleared for ages. Flies swarm the drinks machines. Plates are frequently dirty, alongside glassware. The page you are given when you check in claims there are morning snacks, afternoon snacks and midnight snacks in the buffet restaurant. I never saw these once during the stay. There is no where to get food outside of breaks, lunch & dinner. The lobby bar claims to be open all day, but we were asked to leave at 3pm with no where else to go. Entertainment each night is the same - a singer from 2030 to 2330. Some of which are very depressing songs all night. The hotel is very small and there is not much at all to do. If the weather is bad, you’re best just to sit in your room. Cocktails are machine made so they all taste weak & inauthentic. Housekeeping don’t sweep the floors when they make up your room or replace toiletries for example toilet tissue. I had a makeup stain on my bedding, they simply turned the sheet over and made the bed. When you check in they ask if you want lunch on that day or checkout day as you are not eligible for both. Once you check out they will not allow you to eat afterwards. I would never return to this hotel. I was also asked how my stay was when checking out - I said terrible but they had no response. Don’t know why they bother asking. The beach is also about a 10 minute walk away so I don’t know why this comes up as beachfront. The rooms are also very dark with minimal lighting. Hotel and rooms needs major refurbishment. Decor is old, damaged and looks awful. A lot of stains on walls, floors, curtains etc. There is also no help with luggage when you are arriving or leaving. You must manage everything alone.

Breakfast buffet is super invincible and delicious! Especially fruit selection is especially great! The hotel will take the initiative to help parking is free. Hotel dinner is not recommended for single or buffet, the taste is very general, the ingredients are not too fresh. The sea view room has a beautiful sunrise view of the sea on the west side of the sunrise. Also saw the double rainbow! The on-site walking trail is also very convenient to walk to the sandy beach of Sao Rafeal. In the morning, it is empty and there is no one, just like enjoying a private beach. The only downside is that the spa is charged separately by number of people, and the free swimming pool also has to buy a swimming cap to enter.

This place has polarizing reviews.. After going there, I understand why. The facilities and services are good. You can use the swimming pool, washer and dryer (performance is poor), sauna and spa for free, and although the building structure is unique (1st and 8th floor reception, 2 elevator transfers, etc.), it's okay if you get used to it. We couldn't find the way by taxi, so we climbed the hill with our suitcases, but the reception on the first floor is near the spar mart. They were friendly, but the air conditioner was broken so I called twice and they didn't come so I just gave up. This place is in the middle of the old town, so I actually made a reservation based on the location, but it's literally in the middle of the club street, so even if you're inside the accommodation, you'll be staying at the concert hall all night long. There's no soundproofing, so you have to enjoy it together until 5 a.m. The noise is another level, as foreign reviews say. I’m traveling around the world, but this place is really ambiguous haha. The breakfast isn’t bad, but it’s just ambiguous… . Personally, I think it would be less noisy and better if it wasn't just in this alley because it's Albupay!!

My mum and myself have visited Portugal for the last ten years and decided to give Bertolina a try. The whole place is exceptionally clean and tidy. Rooms cleaned every day and anything you needed was not a problem at all. Mafalda is great, she was very helpful and informative. Air con and bru making facilities in the rooms along with a small fridge. The error I made when booking here was not realising how close it was to the square. Out of season I expect this wouldn't be an issue but in season music is on very loud until 4am which made it quite difficult to sleep. We were in room 201. Very spacious and near the front door. I think the rooms on that side may be a touch quiter than the rooms on the other that directly face the square. Nice small pool and sun bathing area with a fridge next to the pool to pop any drinks in. Out of season we would stay here again and recommend. I believe they are looking at maybe sorting some new windows and doors next year which would massively help address the one issue we had in terms of noise. I was a bit worried about staying because of the reviews but my husband and I are just back from a great week at Hotel Baltum. Yes the room was small, but it was cleaned every day and fresh towels, had enough room for the pair of us to get ready in and a fantastic shower. We were on the third floor, couldn't hear any noise from outside when the patio doors were shut and the air con was great. The staff were fantastic, the roof terrace is brilliant and the bar staff working couldn't do enough to help. There is some noise in the hotel but it probably echoes up the stairs, something you can't stop as it's tilled and marbled. It's in the centre of the old town, 2 minutes from the beach and surrounded by bars and restaurants. Right near the taxi rank too.

If you want a luxury hotel, don’t book this one!!! I wanted a cheap sunshine break after all the bad weather in the U.K. this summer and having come back from a luxury hotel in Majorca I checked this out. I’ll be honest, the rooms aren’t great but we came for sun so wasn’t in the room for a lot of the time so that was fine. We had 2 single beds and a Juliette balcony overlooking the Main Street, some would complain of noise, it didn’t bother us. Rooms were cleaned/beds made 2 out of the 3 days we were there. Added bonus was having kitchen area with a fridge/kettle etc. I’d read the bad reviews before we went and I was dubious, but I’d say if your after a cheap bit of sunshine and somewhere to sleep/shower this place is a good base - as long as you aren’t expecting luxury!!! The location is fantastic. We were a little worried about checking out after reading about the random reception opening hours, but sure enough there was someone there at 3am to take our key and refund the deposit we paid - **please be aware this is €200, which shocked us as we weren’t informed til we got there - we paid it as they wouldn’t budge, but it was back in my bank within 3 days** I would return if I could get a good price again, location is perfect and we met some lovely people round the roof pool. If your not fussy you’ll be fine here. Also all the lads we met on reception were lovely and super helpful x

Check in times are really strict. When I got to the apartment the owner said she does not have my booking even though it was confirmed. We waited an hour or two before someone let us in, but they were very rude and unpleasant to deal with. Whilst the apartment was perfect, clean and in a good location, the hosts were terrible.
