Reviews of Vila Recife Hotel

We stayed in a room without the view as shown on the website. Instead, we faced a wall. This discrepancy leads to massive disappointment and disatisfaction. It would be more helpful if you also showed what potential view customer can get. Also, the room is old with 3 flies flying in our room on arrival.

The hotel was decent, - rooms extremely basic (ours had no balcony, the rooms with balconys its only 1 big enough to accommodate 1 chair) & doors rotting a bit, cleaned regularly & well though by friendly cleaners. Pool is small but ok, not many sunbeds but adequate enough. Spar over the road for pool refreshments. Shower in room fantastic. Location is absolutely superb & the most positive thing about this hotel. Can be noisy at night with other guests banging doors & shouting / singing; something which the hotel does nothing about. Breakfast is average & same every day. All in all a decent place to stay if on a stag or hen, or if wanting to meet these types of groups & get a good laugh; if you're considering this place for a family holiday though, dont bother.

Well situated hotel,good breakfast and an ample pool,only moan would be that it was slightly overpriced, but overall a lovely stay.

They gave us a room with a terrace overlooking an interior courtyard and a dilapidated, moldy house. I complained, and they moved us to a much smaller room with one window, also quite old. The shower was full of mold, and the mirror was so dim you couldn't even see yourself. We asked for pillows and had to ask three times, only to be told they'd be ready the next day. The location was fine, but parking was terrible, and the place was pretty disgusting. The hallways were poorly lit and looked like something out of a horror movie. A hotel can be old, but this one is definitely not. The breakfasts were meager. There were spiders crawling all over it. I don't recommend it.

24-hour front desk. Excellent. I've visited many hotels in Portugal, Spain, and France over the past two months, and I've found that hotels with a lively atmosphere downstairs at night are great. This hotel is one of them. It has a very relaxing vacation atmosphere. Lively.

Pros: The breakfast was unexpectedly plentiful, the staff were friendly, and the TV screen continuously played original music videos, creating a very relaxing atmosphere. The pool water temperature was acceptable at the end of October; it would be even warmer on sunny days. Free blankets were available at the front desk for use in the pool and on the rooftop terrace. Cons: The showerhead had a problem; it would be great if it could be replaced or repaired.

The hotel has a great location, right near the beach, and the rooftop view of the night is fantastic.

The property is dated and in need of renovation, especially the rooms and the pool. There's no hairdryer in the rooms, but you can request one at reception. The rooms need updating; they're really bare; a little paint on the walls and a few colorful paintings would be enough. The velvet runners and cushions are now outdated and useless, having been immediately thrown into the closet. In the bathroom, the toilet paper is so soft it crumbles in your hand, especially when the steam builds up when you turn on the hot water. There are two sun terraces, each furnished with loungers. The terraces felt abandoned to me; if there were umbrellas and tables and someone would come by every now and then to bring towels and ask if you needed anything, it would certainly be a different story. The pool also lacks umbrellas. Furthermore, our room was on the same floor as the pool. Unfortunately, we had to keep the curtain closed at all times, otherwise other guests could look into our room. We also had to turn on the light even in broad daylight, otherwise we couldn't see anything. I suggest adding a light curtain in addition to the blackout curtain, which would block out prying eyes but let in light. It would also be a good idea to renovate the rooms, bathroom, and hallways. It's a shame, because the reception area, with its light green walls and round sofa, is very nice. The breakfast area is okay, but unfortunately, there's no variety. Besides cooked ham, perhaps other cured meats could be rotated. Also, add hard-boiled or brown eggs, lactose-free milk and yogurt, some cheeses, change the flavors of jams, add chocolate spread, waffles instead of pancakes, etc. There is a bar, but it's never used by anyone, which is a shame. The staff has always been extremely kind and helpful. I remember Carolina's smile as she checked us in and explained everything to us with a map in hand. A male colleague, also very smiley, kindly provided me with a hairdryer that evening. The breakfast ladies were also very helpful, and once they let us in even though we arrived late. I'm still giving it a high rating, so as not to penalize anyone, but I'm confident that the feedback will help us improve.
