Luna Hotel da Oura

Rooms are perhaps a bit dated, but I expected that for the price - they’re still functional, very clean and comfortable. The kitchens were well-equipped and the pool and gym were nice. All the staff I met were helpful and friendly. Close to restaurants etc, supermarket across the road and there’s a stop for the tourist ‘train’ just up the road.

I loved the suite because it was large & very comfortable. The price was amazing however they charged for pool towels & the use of the safe! Walking distance to a grocery store. A bit far from the Old Town of Albufeira however we did walk it once. An Uber was 4 Euros. Close to a few good restaurants as well! 2pools also which was nice! Outside pool not heated. I do recommend this hotel!

I brought my daughter away on a wowcher deal, really didn't expect much. Well, I was surprised, I read the reviews about dogs barking and requested a room away from the dogs as I'm very sound sensitive, I haven't heard a thing! No chairs being dragged, dogs barking, absolutely nothing. Had a great sleep. The beds are comfy and the customer service is superb. I had a problem with our kettle, spoke to George on reception and within 10 minutes we had a new one delivered to our room. I also requested a fan at 00:30 as we always have a fan noise at home, the quietness of the room meant I couldn't sleep.... (the temp of room was fine as air con was great) and again George came to the rescue. Delivering a fan 5 minutes later (even when he said he couldn't help until the next night as no availability) he went out of his way to find a fan and deliver it personally. Honestly the best customer service from George, he is a credit to the hotel. We would definitely return as customer service is key to a great hotel. 👍

The room was comfortable but a bit dated. The blowdryer was one of the boxed units attached to the wall (circa 1970), but it worked fine. Lobby was really quite nice. I would have used the indoor pool sauna and jaccuzi but you are required to wear a bathing cap...which I dont have. You also have to rent pool towels to use at the indoor and outdoor pools

Nice place. The apartment was big and could easily have slept 4. Very good price and good location.

This is an apparthotel about 40 mins from the airport . We arrived via an 'easy jet' booking. The hotel has a large foyer plus 3 lifts to the rooms. You can have your rooms cleaned as and when you want. There is an outside pool plus an indoor pool and spa all included in the price. WARNING. Unless your bald everyone has to wear a swimming cap in the indoor pool. NOT in the outdoor pool ,goodness knows what the difference is but hay ho it's not my country. Everyone is lovely and easy to talk to. Everywhere you go Everyone speaks English. Spanish is sort of similar , Google translate is a great tool, so if your like me and want to try and speak some words then some Spanish is similar. Prices are not bad. Nearer the coast it is a bit more expensive but I recommend you try smaller off the beaten track places. We went for 1 drink in a local bodega and 2 wines cost 2.00 € at the time of this review. We found this all over. A great place for families.

Hotel is lovely when you walk in the door but the rest of the hotel is dated. In need of a total revamp. Room is clean, and well equipped with a fridge, microwave, kettle and a dishwasher and all utensils but no condiments. A lot of noise from crowds of men banging on doors late at night and loud voices. There is a total of 5 plugs in the room, only one that worked and this was the one for the kettle the rest was hidden by furniture and likely the reason they are hidden they don’t work, so was a nightmare if you needed electric for any more than 1 plug. With a teenager it was torture. We were half board but food wasn’t great, selection was poor of 4 hot choices. Meatballs, chicken legs, pasta with sauce separate and a cod pie. Tried the restaurant twice and was the same options both times. So don’t waste your money on half board. Lots of lovely restaurants nearby. Highly recommend Clay oven which is Indian before you get to the ***** and Golden garden Chinese at the bottom of the *****. Both meals were fantastic. Pool has lots of sun loungers but pool was freezing, there is a shed with a vending machine as the bar. We tried the indoor pool which was pleasant as it is slightly warmer, but you are made to wear a shower cap that they supply costing 4 euros, don’t understand why as it isn’t waterproof and the hat supplied is far from flattering. ***** is 5 mins away and old town is a 25 min walk both pleasant walks. We made the best of our holiday and used the hotel as a base, I’ve been to Albuferia 6 times now and will come back but to a different hotel

We visited the Luna da Oura in early October 23 & found the hotel to be clean, quiet and well run, there were no rowdy groups, the pool was spotless and everything was well maintained. The room was clean & spacious, with everything a couple would need in the kitchen including a kettle & even a dishwasher, all we needed was food from one of the great supermarkets just 5&10 minutes walk respectively. The resort is very good and this hotel is in a fairly quiet area about 15 minutes walk from the nearest beach, both “old & new” town area a a short walk away, but unless you go looking you wouldn’t know they were there. Thoroughly recommended, ignore the dubious spiteful reviews, they don’t match our experience.
