Reviews of Thon Hotel Ålesund

I booked for 3 days , 2 days were twin room , but  the second day was family room because  no twin room when I booked hotel month ago. They upgraded me to a family room for free. The room was very big. So happy to stay there. Breakfast room has waterfront  views of beautiful town. The breakfast was excellent , a lot of variety of food. Highly recommended to anyone to stay there.  I took one day trip to Geiranger by boat and back with bus. The view from Alesund to Oye is unreal , so beautiful. The view of Geiranger is spectacular. The trip is better than Nutshell in Flåm.

Everything is almost perfect except that the parking spot is so small and very limited maybe less than 20 slot. But there is a public parking lot about 3 minutes walk Breakfast is awesome, delicious and fresh Room is clean and looks new Staff is very friendly and helpful

Excellent stay overall. The hotel was very clean, comfortable, and well located. The facilities were in very good condition, and the family room was spacious and suitable for our stay. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our visit. The only reason I rated the service 4/5 instead of 5/5 is that there was a little room for improvement in responsiveness, but overall we had a very positive experience and would gladly stay here again.

Great location! For parking, small cars can use the parking garage next door, while larger vehicles need to go to the public parking lot, which costs about 200 for one night and is a 5-minute walk away. I stayed in a triple corner room, which was very spacious; it felt like it might have been designed for guests with disabilities. The breakfast was good, the environment was pleasant, and there's complimentary tea on the first floor. It offers really good value for money.

We got a great family room. Suitable for 3 persons. Good breakfast, crowded breakfast room - Christmas season.

Nice hotel very near to all the iconic places in Alesund ! Good to book room with a view . Breakfast is excellent with ample choices . Hotel staff are providing great services with smiles 👍！ We enjoyed our stay . Hlghly recommended

Amazing hotel. Breakfast super. Location excellent and rooms v v comfy.

Transportation: FB65 is right outside the airport and goes to the hotel. It costs 495 NOK for two adults and one child. It's about a 10-minute walk from the station, which might be slow with luggage. The return trip is by Uber for 640 NOK – great value! Facilities: Room facilities are okay. There are no disposable toiletries like toothbrushes, but there are bath towels. Bring your own toiletries if you have specific preferences; they provide shampoo and shower gel together. The restaurant has a nice view. Don't go too early, or you'll encounter tour groups. I went at 7 am and couldn't get a seat with a view. Breakfast is typical Western style – quite delicious! My Chinese stomach could handle it. AksLA viewpoint and other attractions are within walking distance. (Last picture attached)

The breakfast was very good, the suite had a nice view, the harbor and the lighthouse were just outside the window. You could also see people diving after the sauna, which was very interesting.

The hotel is clean and sanitary, but foreign hotels do not have any disposable items, you need to bring your own. There is no mineral water or kettle in the room, but there is a small refrigerator.
