The front desk staff and all the service personnel were very nice, but the hotel itself was terrible, terribly terrible. It wasn't the cheapest option, but the facilities were awful. It's just an old hotel with a fancy new name; the interior is exactly the same – outdated facilities, dim lighting, and an 80s/90s decor.
The lobby reeked of strong, unpleasant aromatherapy. I thought I could tolerate it, but then the room was filled with the same pungent, overpowering aromatherapy smell.
The hot water took over 10 minutes to heat up, and the temperature couldn't be adjusted. Apparently, a water pipe had burst, so there was no cold water, and therefore no way to do laundry.
The pictures made it look like some kind of modern Chinese style, but once I checked in, it was utterly tacky. I felt like I was in some executive executive's office, not a guest room.
The room didn't have underfloor heating, and it was cold at night. There was no air conditioning remote, and after searching for ages, I discovered the air conditioning switch was on the ceiling – can you believe it? It made me laugh. I was originally planning to stay for two nights, but thankfully I had the foresight to only book one.
