I am a travel nurse and I booked 7 days at this location. However, after checking it I was very disappointed. The room had a horrible smell to it, the vent was extremely dirty, and the toilet didn’t work. I then went downstairs to have my room changed, which the night shift assistant helped me with. The next room was slightly better outside of this loud noise that I couldn’t find the cause of. The room was a handicap assessable room, had slight smell as well and dishes were not clean, tub was dirty, and the microwave had old food in it. The next morning I approached Rafeal at the front desk due to the loud noise and me not being able to sleep due to it. Since I was scheduled to stay 7 days, I needed a new room. When I approached him, he was on his phone and didn’t look up at me until I said hello. I then proceeded to ask for another room due to the loud noise. Without him looking into the computer, he told me that “there’s no other room”. I asked him if he could please look because last night the other attendant was able to move me due to a toliet issues and the smell of the room. He said it again, there’s no other room. I then asked him to change my departure date to the next day because I’m extremely unhappy. He did, I asked will I get a refund after check out for the $800 I was charged, he said he wasn’t sure. His attitude and demeanor made me not want to stay here anymore ! At least the night shift attendants were nice. I checked out this morning and was greeted by Marie. She was a breath of fresh air. I proceeded to tell her about the problems o had and She apologized for my issues I had at her location. She was very empathetic & told he how I can voice my concerns. I appreciate her great customer service!

Holiday Inn Alexandria at Carlyle, an IHG Hotel

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. It is not safe. My mother, my sister, and I went to Alexandria to visit my husband who is active duty. My mother (93) and sister (71) stayed at the Holiday Inn Carlyle, 2460 Eisenhower Ave, Alexandria, VA 22314 from 5/5/22-5/7/22. On Saturday evening, 5/7/22 at approximately 9pm, there was a tall African American man in their room when they entered. He was walking toward them and my sister asked him who he was and how did he get into their room. His response was that he thought this was his friend’s room and showed them that his key card worked and said he would go to the front desk to get this straightened out. Nothing was stolen from mother and sister but my sister said he had clothes draped over his arm with price tags hanging. They were understandably shaken up. They could have been killed. They went to the front desk and they had someone walk them back to their room to tell them how to use the deadbolt. This way no one could enter their room once they were inside, he said. Apparently, an engineer was to come to their room also to look at the key lock but he never showed up. It was too late to move hotels by the time this was all done and they were okay staying the night. The next morning, we moved them to another hotel. I called back Monday morning and talked to the General Manager who had no idea that this happened on Saturday. He called the police and said his staff did not follow protocol. They should have called the police on Saturday evening. Hmmm makes you wonder if the staff was in on this and the man had a master key perhaps or the front desk employees were making keys to the rooms that they had guests staying in for him. It was clear that he stole from other rooms by the clothes with tags over his arm. The GM was kind (at first) and comped the room for the 3 nights and gave us bonus IHG reward points as we are a member. I could care less about the points. What I’m concerned about is 2 months later (7/22), the police said that the hotel has not provided any video footage. I have called the hotel several times and talked to the GM and was told not to call them anymore and to talk to the police. I did call them back again as nothing was getting resolved and talked to the assistant GM and he told me in an email “the hotel management is working with the local City of Alexandria Police Department and will be sending the footage requested by officer XXXX, once obtained from security camera technician. Any additional updates or information will come from City of Alexandria Police Department.” I talked with the police last week (6/27/22) and the hotel has not provided the video footage yet. I have called the GM back several times since and got his voicemail. I have tried for 2 months to get some resolution so the only thing I can do now is to make all of you aware of this situation and DO NOT STAY HERE FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY. Besides, the hotel is run down and the comforters had stains on them. Just terrible all the w
Super 8 by Wyndham Alexandria/Washington D.C. Area

The overall appearance of the building was dismal at best. I don't think the sheets were changed from the last guess. The towels didn't appear to be cleaned as well. I really just think nobody cared about anything around there because of his cheap price. The room was non-refundable as well I wouldn't recommend unless you're looking for a cheap place where you can guess whether the things were cleaned or not
Morrison House Old Town Alexandria, Autograph Collection

Morrison House is an delightful boutique hotel, small enough that it feels like a hideaway. The area feels very safe for women traveling alone. There is an adorable courtyard entry with a fountain and double curving steps up to the the door. We stayed at the end of a week in DC, so we each had a large suitcase and a carry-on to haul awkwardly up the steps - maybe stay there when you are traveling more lightly. The front desk staff were adequately friendly. I am not disappointed in the service, but I did not have the outstanding experience that some reviewers have written about. We were upgraded to an Illustrator room, which is a corner room on a high floor. I found the room very clean and in good repair. The mattress was medium firmness and we slept well. The shower had good water pressure. We did not hear any noise from outside. Unfortunately it began to rain shortly after our arrival so we did not get a chance to explore the area. I did go downstairs for a complementary glass of wine. We were there on a Sunday so the restaurant was closed. Be sure to note the square footage of the rooms. They are smaller than average rooms in a 4-star hotel. The room did feel small but I think it was due to the 8-foot ceiling because it did not feel cramped. The air conditioning unit was a bit noisy but like I mentioned above, we did sleep well. Parking is in an underground garage below the hotel. Our vehicle was parked for us but they do not have valet services.
Hilton Alexandria-Old Town

Second time-even better! We chose this hotel again because of its proximity to the Metro and Old Town. It was a win-win on both accounts. We loved walking around the area and eating locally plus we loved having easy access to DC for the museums etc. Our room was spacious and comfortable with a large desk for the bit of work we needed to do. The Wi-Fi was free but I had trouble with it using AT&T but my partner has Verizon and had no issues. I did love the digital key on the app. It didn’t work a couple of times as my Wi-Fi was iffy at times in and near the room. We went to the diner next door for more reasonable breakfast prices.

Hilton Alexandria Mark Center

Ctrip booked two double-bed rooms, ready to check in at the front desk, and only one double bed was answered. The Ctrip customer service was always busy. Later, a customer service called me to talk to the hotel front desk and gave them to the hotel. After a confirmation code inside, the hotel found another section of the department, or a double bed. The customer service phone changed the hotel front desk to a large bed. The front desk refused, said it could not be changed, and finally had to wait for Ctrip to negotiate, about an hour before and after. Finally, I went to the hotel on-duty manager to explain the situation before I was able to check in. I got my room card at 8:50 pm and 10:00 pm. After a long day of fatigue, it was a bit ugly to encounter this. The location is relatively close and the price is relatively cheap. After all, Hilton is a big name, but this type of hotel has to charge and expensive for breakfast. I still think that holiday inn and crown plaza are better and cost-effective.
