Residence Picale

Property was in a good location to access the beaches and the town. Very nice condition with spacious modern room. The property was listed as ‘soundproof’ which it was absolutely not. We were in a room opposite a restaurant which was very noisy through the night, on Friday night even playing very loud music. We could hear the thudding of the bass even through earplugs! Above us there was a family with children, and the children were running around (as they do, which is fine) but you could hear it all through the ceiling. It was probably one of the noisiest places I’ve slept in (and I live in London) and I was lucky to have earplugs with me for both me and my partner, otherwise we would have had a terrible time. We requested a room change but we’re told there were no more rooms, even though ******* said there was at least one room available for the dates of our stay. Additionally, the mattress was really uncomfortable and the pillows very thin. We had one pillow each and there was another one in the cupboard (so one of us could have two pillows) which seemed inadequate. We could have asked for another pillow but I didn’t want to have to go to reception again after having requested a room change. If not for the noise and uncomfortable bed it would have been a great stay, but when the factors concerning getting a good nights sleep are so poor it can dramatically change how your vacation goes.

We stayed for 2 weeks in July in the newer refurbished appartment. Location is excellent, over the road from the beach. Lots of great bars and restaurants all within 5- 10 minutes walk. A large supermarket and bakery very close with everything you'd need. A 20 -30 minute walk into the beautiful Old Town and harbour area. The apartment was very clean and modern. Very good shower in the bathroom and excellent air conditioning in all the rooms. Excellent cleaning team around the hotel and the appartment was fully cleaned twice a week. On the last day we were able to store our luggage and use the showers which was great. The pool does get busy and there weren't always enough sunbeds but otherwise couldn't fault it. Would definitely recommend and would visit again.

We (family of 4 adults) spent a week at the Residence Picale. Very modern and well equipped. Air conditioning was superb. Shutters are really effective in keeping out the sun also. Location is 25 mins walk approximately from The Old Town (you can get a bus there for €1). There is a supermarket one block away. Lots of superb restaurants nearby. It is within 20m of the beach. The pool is quite small but fine for the numbers. It gets deep very quickly so not suitable for anyone who is not able to swim. Staff were very obliging. On the last day we had about 6 hours to punch down before our flight so they let us leave our luggage in a room off reception and we could spend time there also. One warning about taxis - the taxi from the airport cost is €27 and to the airport cost €30 even though the trip is no more than 15 minutes. I believe there is a bus which serves the airport so I would check that out.

No dishwasher no kettle not a lot of power sockets Air con sporadic utility lights in all bedrooms. V loud at night with live band in.hotel cafe. 7 ft deep pool. Enjoyed holiday but this place was average after paying for the refurbished end

Absolutely can't fault the place. Just leaving after a fantastic ten days here. Immaculately kept,modern and light. Our room was beautiful, immaculate and very up to date, we have stayed in many around Alghero that have dated,dark rooms, this was lovely, very well appointed, wrap around balcony with sea view. You can use a vending machine for snacks and drinks 24 hours which is handy,the hot drinks are delicious. The hotel is directly across the road from the beach with unobstructed views, beautiful. Great little super market two minutes away if you want to stock up on snacks,fruit and drinks. Lots of car parking around if needed and the hotel is easily walkable into the town (we walked it once or twice a day) with lots of bars and restaurants along the way. Best of all are the staff, without exception all so helpful and friendly going out of their way to say hello and ask how your holiday is going especially Luigi who booked us in. It's very reasonably priced also. Air con, room safe, large TV in room,tennis courts and pool it's got the lot. Would highly recommend, we will definitely be staying here in future and hope to be returning very soon. Thanks guys it was amazing.

Excellent reception staff, modern and very clean apartaments if you choose to stay in the renovated wing! Easy acces to the beach- it's just across the street! Nearby restaurants, an supermarket where you can buy all you need for a quick breakfast! If you are a familly with small kids, please pay atention to the heights- windows and balcony.
