Alhaurin Golf Hotel

This hotel is fraudulent and will literally steal your money. We paid for golf fees and they took double the amount. They promised to refund us the amount taken in error. Still waiting for a refund of our stolen money seven months later. Avoid this place at all costs.

We made a booking in November 2023 and were 'accidentally' charged twice for the same booking. Despite contacting the hotel immediately, who have confirmed the error, and despite repeated phone calls and e-mails we are still waiting for the refund of the money 3 months later. Reception claim they can do nothing, only the hotel 'administration' has the authority to make refunds. It is not possible to communicate with administration and we are just fobbed off with more excuses and false promises. Do not make a booking with this hotel if you don't want to be robbed!

This hotel has taken 1120 euros in prepayment for golf from my wife and her three friends for a golf trip in Sept 2023. On arrival they were told that they would have to pay at the golf course as the golf course and hotel had ended their arrangement. and that their payment to the hotel would be refunded. To date the hotel has not refunded their payment. The Department of Consumer Affairs in Malaga and Ireland have been formally notified. If you plan on booking a golf package please be aware of this .

Excellent Hotel. It is primarily situated as a 'Golf Hotel' but we used it because it is an excellent facility. Always book early to ensure a place. The food is excellent with a wide choice and generally, the hotel provides a great service.

My 3 friends and I stayed at Alhaurin Golf Hotel from 7th September 2023 until 12th September 2023. We had prepaid our accommodation and our golf fees for the nearby Al Haurin Golf Resort last February. When we arrived at check in, we were informed that the agreement with the golf club had now terminated, our tee times were still secure, but we would have to pay the golf club directly for green fees; or else we would not be able to play golf. A full refund was promised to us and IBAN details were requested and given to facilitate this. To date, despite numerous requests during our stay at the hotel and countless emails & calls since our return no refund has been received and no manager has ever returned our calls. On reflection, our suspicions should have been aroused as soon as we checked in; because if they were serious about giving us back the monies owed to us (€1,120), they could have contacted us before we travelled and refunded the credit card which was used to make the booking or they could have transferred the fees directly to the golf club, when the agreement was terminated between the two parties. Not only have we been left with a very negative view of this hotel, but we have also been CHEATED out of €1,120 and we urge any future potential visitors to think long and hard before making a booking here. By the way, when we paid the golf club direct, we only paid €50 per person per day as opposed to the €70 Al Hauarin Golf Hotel had charged us. (What happened to the extra €20 pp or €320 in total?). On the 7th September to 12th September 2023, I stayed in Hotel Alhaurin with my three golf girlfriends. We had booked and paid for everything in advance in good faith. On our arrival we were informed that there was a change in the agreement in relation to the booking of our golf. We were promised that we would receive a refund of €1120, the money we had paid the Hotel for our golf but that we would have to pay for our golf again at the Golf Club in order for us to play. Reception took details of our bank account and assured us that the refund would be processed immediately. However, the refund was not processed. Despite numerous phone calls & emails to the hotel since our visit, regarding the refund of golf fees to the value of €1120.00, no refund had been processed to date. I would not recommend anyone to stay in this hotel because they have taken €1120 of our money and kept it and have given us no service, this can only be described as fraud. If we receive our money I will retract this review.

Absolute Fraudulent Hotel Group" Myself and my three friends stayed at the ‘ Hotel Alhaurin Golf’, from the 7th September 2023 to 12th September 2023. We booked this trip in February 2023, and paid all bills in full in good faith. However, on arrival we were informed that there was a change in the agreement in relation to the booking of their golf. The change being that the Hotel was no longer providing that service. We were informed that we would receive a refund of €1120, the money we had paid the Hotel for our golf but that we would have to pay for our golf again at the Golf Club, but assured us that our tee times were still valid. Reception took details of my bank account and again assured us that the refund would be processed immediately. We had no problems with our golf tee times and paid for our golf again to the Golf Club. However, we checked our bank on the 10th September and the refund had not been received. We mentioned this to reception that day and again they were assured it was being processed. On the day of our departure 12th September, we again checked our bank account and no refund had been received. We addressed this with reception that day and asked for management, who were not available, but again we were assured the refund would be processed. We were also told that management would contact us on our return to Ireland the following week to confirm their refund was being processed. Almost 2 months has passed since the end of our stay, and despite numerous emails and telephone calls to the Alhaurin Golf Hotel and verbal guarantees that the refund would be processed, we have not received anything. This is a Fraudulent Hotel and I advise anyone who is planning to stay here to avoid it at all costs"

After coming to this hotel for the last few years I feel totally shocked and let down as the have the football team staying other guests are not allowed into the dinning room until they have finished breakfast is from 8 am but didn't tell us this untill we paid upon arrival this price has jumped . Also was charged 12 euros on my second day for a bowl of chips the prices here have jumped so high DONT RECOMMEND THE WAY THIS HOTEL IS NOW THE MENU IS TERRIBLE

It was hard to fault this charming four star Andalusian hotel. The staff were first class, as were the facilities and breakfast. We considered it excellent value for money and would not hesitate to book again.
