Communication was difficult with very little English spoken. I could find no British TV channels, nor are there any coffee/tea facilities in the room and only the very bare minimum toiletries. Nothing on the balcony other than 2 chairs and table which can be used to dry washing. On a positive note the hotel was very clean but being extremely basic for the money - plus a 20min ride away from the middle of Alicante - I would not visit again.

There’s a clean and smart reception area, but the reception staff weren’t very welcoming, we arrived tired and late after a delayed flight and a smile and nice greeting would have made us feel more welcome. The rooms are very spacious with a big bed which we found very comfortable. However the room lacks any facilities whatsoever and way below what we expect for a 4 star hotel. We were shocked on waking the first morning to find there are no tea and coffee facilities?! Also no iron or ironing board. Plus only one arm chair was provided even though there is ample space, so we both couldn’t sit down and relax in the room. The noise from other rooms and the street on the Friday night was horrendous, even on the 5th floor. We didn’t sleep at all. We suspect this is because weekends are much busier, the breakfast room on the Saturday morning was absolutely packed. The breakfast itself was very good for 9 euros we think it’s worth it, they offer a good selection of gluten free items (I have an allergy). But as I mention above, Saturday morning breakfast wasn’t enjoyable due to how busy it was. In fact the waitress ushered us off the table as soon as we finished our last bite (I still had some tea left to drink!) as she said there was a queue to get in. In summary, a mixed stay but too many negatives and we wouldn’t stay again.

We stayed here for the weekend during a recent city break. It is true that you get what you pay for and this is the case for Hotel Leuka. The reception and welcome was good. The rooms are clean with comfortable beds. The bathroom is a bath come shower arrangement with good water pressure and temperature the water was hot. The location is in a side street away from the main roads and only a short walk (3 minutes) from a C6 bus stop for transfer to and from the airport. The hotel is quite noisy as having hard (stone) floors with any footsteps or moving furniture can be heard. The walls between rooms are quite thin and people talking can be quite easily heard. Breakfast is plentiful though the scrambled egg and bacon were'luke warm'. There is a bar next door which we sat in for a couple of evenings. The drinks were really inexpensive. We enjoyed walking around the town and to the harbour with a day trip to Benidorm on the train. There's quite a lot to see in a weekend in Alicante and certainly worth a visit.

Stor and clean rooms. The bathroom and the phenomenal shower. The very friendly and efficient receptionists, especially Sergio. The only but, are the high prices of the bar and restaurant. For example, a small glass of milk, € 1.50.

After a disaster with Airbnb that placed us in front of the door without keys to access the accommodation, having to sleep 2:00 in the car waiting for a solution, we managed to find a room at 1:00 . We were out of a wedding and we were tired. In this hotel we managed to find a clean, welcoming bed. And our dear Ivan really welcomed us very well, listening, and carefully to our needs. Very Top!

This boutique hotel is simply lovely. We did not hear a sound inside as walls so thick and no thin, creaky floorboards. We were woken one morning by the street cleaning van….but that was the council and nothing to do with hotel and obviously out of their control. The staff encountered 10/10* The location 10/10* right by everything! The breakfast 10/10* something for everyone! Fantastic rooftop with lovely views of Santa Barbara castle/fort ….we took our own wine up as not manned during the week only weekend. The airport C6 bus drops you off & picks you up for back to airport approx 3/5 minutes walk to/from hotel. The staff are so friendly, polite & helpful….best I’ve ever encountered as they were also consistent in their manner. Would also add, hotel is spotless and cleaned daily if you want your room to be….we declined that.

I’m staying as a student of university of Alicante in Villa Universitaria here. The price is pretty high so were my expectations. As I arrived I found everything okay. As I’ve been spending more time, I found many disadvantages. 1) I had problems with my key and the lock all the time. And though I clearly had problems staff didn’t do a thing but ignore my complains. I had to leave the door open by the end just to get in next time. Only when I started a serious argument they sent me a worker and he repaired the lock. 2) at first there was a microwave and one day I woke up and it was gone. For my question I got “it is not included” but I’ve seen microwave in other rooms. 3) there are vegetables for breakfast, it’s the same everyday: cheese, ham and lots of dough. To be honest there are no fresh vegetables at all. Everyday for lunch and dinner there is only a “salad” of 3 tomatoes cherry, olives, corn and lettuce. Coffee is a whole other thing... 4) the shower doesn’t properly work, water is spreading all over the bathroom. Th shelf in the shower is crooked so I can’t even put my shampoo and other staff there, it’s always falling down. 5) there was no toilet brush (it may be not the most important thing, but I wish you luck to keep everything clean without it) 6) dinner is at 20:30!! But it’s just a common Spanish thing, dinner is always very late. 7) finally, it’s not a disadvantage, just a friendly warning. It’s 40 minutes to Alicante so if you want to spend more time in city, it’s better find smth there. It will be cheaper and more convenient. 8) you better speak Spanish, staff doesn’t enjoy much speaking English

So central walked everywhere, airport taxi only 20 euro. Rooms were so nice and cold after being out in the heat all day! Twin beds even tho asked for double so not great for a romantic getaway, Breakfast was really disappointing no sausages weird eggs no Irish/English breakfasts, ended up having toast everyday. Besides breakfast and beds it was the perfect place to stay when your going to be out and about, definitely coming back

We regularly travel to Alicante on our way to our holiday home in Almeria and thought that on this occasion we would break up the joirney with a few days in Alicante. We had a 2 night stay at Melia Hotel Alicante from 28th to 30th January which was a Christmas present from our sons. We were booked on to The Level which had been recommended to us as it is for adults only and as we had had a very stressful time in the past few months, we were very much looking forward to the peace and relaxation. However, when we arrived at the hotel we were told that The Level was actually closed because there was work being carried out. We were told we were still in a room on The Level and had in fact been upgraded to a better room but all the other amenities were closed, ie the drinks and snacks that are available all day and the breakfast room which is separate from the main hotel and therefore a lot quieter. We were told that we could still get the snacks and drinks from the bar in the hotel foyer and were given a wrist band to wear so the bar staff would know. Some of the staff didn’t seem to be very aware as to what we were entitled too but mainly the staff were very good. Although we had been upgraded to a better room, the experience was completely spoiled by workmen who started work at 8am and were using drills and jackhammers!! This work went on until early evening so we had to stay out of the room for most of the day and we’re not able to use the leisure facilities/private lounge. We looked on the hotel website whilst we were there and other sites selling rooms at the hotel and they were and still are selling rooms on The Level with no mention of it being closed. We did receive an email a week or so before saying that work was being carried out to refurbish the hotel but it was more than that, parts were practically being demolished!!!! There was also no mention that The Level was completely closed. We were extremely disappointed as it had come highly recommend to us!! We have given the hotel an average rating as we did not have the experience we had expected and paid for!

This is a great place to stay overnight for late arrival or early departure from Alicante airport. Reception staff are friendly, thoughtful, polite and helpful in booking taxi, advising on local restaurants and explaining the Hostal facilities all in good English. Room was very clean with effective air- con and beds very comfortable. Unable to comment on breakfast service as flight left very early. Hostal overlooks open heath land with pathways for enjoyable stroll away from town traffic Only downside of stay was poor sound insulation in building so the noise of furniture being moved around in the dining area very late at night by other guests returning to premises when no staff were present became a nuisance
