Reviews of Mildom Premium Hotel

The hotel staff were incredibly helpful. We don't speak the local language, so they found someone who spoke English to communicate with us. The breakfast was excellent – even though it was Western style, there was a wide variety, and we really enjoyed it.

The breakfast was great and the place was clean, but there's no elevator, so it was a bit tiring. Still, it was good. It's close to the church and the location is excellent.

I don't know what criteria were used to rate this hotel so highly. Here are just the facts and photos: 1) The towels provided were small, ripped, and threadbare, worn down to holes and fringes. They replaced them with more of the same, though at least the correct size, but still not fully clean. 2) The sheet had a hair on it and a huge patch; it was replaced. 3) The rooms themselves, and the furniture, are very tired and worn. 4) The bed and room were so small that you could only squeeze sideways between the bed and the wall/window without bumping your legs. 5) There were someone's hairs stuck in the sink. 6) The shower rod wasn't secure, the faucet was unfixed and held up by protruding pipes, the shower holder kept popping out of the wall, and there were glue marks on the wall and brackets. 7) I paid for a 20 sq.m. room, but the 'deluxe' room turned out to be about 9 sq.m. plus the bathroom, hallway, and shower cabin for another 5 sq.m., making a total of 14 instead of 20. 8) The breakfast was mediocre, with dried-out cheese and everything served 'cool'. It's served in a Georgian restaurant where the floor had partially missing parquet, causing people to trip. The next day, they just threw a worn-out 'carpet' over it. 9) After the water supply was faulty for the second evening in a row, I left this refuge for not-so-picky travelers.

Great location! It's a 5-minute walk to the metro, and there are bus stops nearby. Breakfast was decent.

The hotel is small and conveniently located in the city center, making it easy to get around. The room was quite small but clean and comfortable. The shower temperature was difficult to adjust, as it was either too hot or too cold. There is no elevator, so guests need to carry their luggage upstairs, but the staff kindly helped with the luggage during check-in. You can also leave your luggage after check-out. The breakfast was excellent. Overall, it was good value for money.

Everything that could possibly be broken was broken: the bathroom doors wouldn't close, the hairdryer didn't work in any of the rooms (and we rented several), and there were no utensils. You had to ask for bath towels, as there weren't any. There weren't enough glasses. All the lamps in the room were also broken. The only working light was the overhead ceiling light. The only plus was the location. :)))

The breakfast so good, hotel location as well.

They asked us to pay a deposit (20,000 Tenge) in cash and they will return it to us when we check out. However, when we checked out, they didn’t say anything about the deposit. We needed to proactively ask them for it and the receptionist had no idea that we paid the deposit already. I bet there may be lots of tourists forgot the deposit and left it there. 🤔

The hotel is in a good location, and the staff provided excellent service. However, some amenities appeared worn and would benefit from an update. The bed linen and pillowcase also had a few small holes.

This place was all right, but definitely missing some key things. Pros: close to everything with a CU and mini market around the corner. Scandalista bar and restaurant next door makes awesome cocktails (food was okay as well). Cons: TV didn't seem to work (took me about 20 minutes to make it functional). Toilet stopped flushing at some point, so I went to call the front desk, only to discover that the room phone didn't work 😂. Housekeeping "cleaned" the room, but only cleaned the toilet after a special request. Overall, if you're on a tight budget, I think the room was fine for the money, but if you're willing/able to spend a bit more, I'd recommend going somewhere else for a stay in Almaty.

Great hotel location. The dining hall is good with a buffet spread. However, in the deluxe room, the window is drafty, the heater isn't working, and the TV has no signal. The entire room feels quite run-down.

I had a good stay at Mildom Premium Hotel — clean room, great location, and the lady at the reception during the day was very professional and friendly. However, one of the night staff (name showed as Алишер on WhatsApp) kept messaging me about showing me the city and told me to prepare money, including more money if I wanted to go to clubs. It felt unprofessional and made me uncomfortable. I hope the hotel looks into this.
