Garden Park Inn

It was our first visit in Kazakhstan. We stayed one week at Garden Park Inn Hotel. Very good and comfortable hotel. About 15 min walk to Baikonur Metro station. Opposite the park. Large, comfortable rooms. Tea/coffee facilities - electric kettle in the room. Serviced every day. Very large selection for breakfast. Halal foods if anyone want. Generally very tasty breakfast. Hotel offers transfer from the Almaty Airport. Staff very friendly and helpful. There were some misunderstandings at the reception, due to language barrier - not every receptionist speaks fluent English - but it was ok. Very friendly staff at the bar - Kazakh brandy was perfect. During our next planned visit to Kazakhstan we definitely will stay at this Hotel.

Nice clean room, very polite and friendly staff. Still there is something to be improved: card has stopped functioning once (could not open the door) and twice didn't turn on the electricity (it starts when you insert the card inside the cardholder in your room). Also there were some troubles to print out the invoice correctly and find the payment for prolongation of our stay. Good location, 10 minutes walking to the underground. Good breakfast served: fresh fruits and wide range of desserts.

Let me put the postive in front: they try.....but they do not succeed. They are really trying hard, but they do not meet the requirements. First more than half of the staff does not speak English. That is acceptable in some provices, but not in Almaty. Most of the team does not understand, what you want. That is terrible. Second: it is a young and really unexperienced team. Do not expect a lot of service, there is none. Checking out at midnight they could not provide an invoice for 15 minutes. The rooms are veray clean and large, a little bit old fashioned Sovjet style. The breakfast is soso lala, the kitchen acceptable. Not really a highlight....
