Hotel Cap Negret

Just enjoyed a lovely week at this fabulous hotel. Modern, spotlessly clean, we loved the location. We upgraded to a sea view room and the view was beautiful. There were 3 of us in our room so it was cozy, but fine when you fold the sofa bed away. Some coat hooks would have been useful. The lounge areas are beautifully decorated, light & airy, plenty places to sit and relax. The pool area is stunning, we especially enjoyed sitting on the sofas taking in the view and it was great to have the pool bar open in winter. Very good choice of food in the restaurant, we stayed half board, well worth it. We also visited the on site beautician Beatrice, very experienced professional lady, we were all impressed with our treatments. The tram stop is a 5/10 minute walk straight across the road from the hotel, here you can get to Denia, Benidorm and Alicante, cheap & easy. You can walk along the beach into Altea or just out of the hotel and cross the bridge. About 15/20 minute walk. Great selection of bars & restaurants along the seafront towards the port. And of course you can walk up into the old town of Altea with its beautiful quaint streets, shops, galleries bars & restaurants. If you are looking for more traditionally Spanish and not English pubs or bars, you will love the hotels location. Good place for walkers and excellent place for cyclists. We were fascinated watching all the professional teams who stay here. And finally, Alexandro who is the resident chief entertainer, he sneaks up on you like a ninja to join his events, which we did most evenings. All the staff were warm, friendly, polite and professional, nothing was too much trouble. We will absolutely definitely be returning regularly. We booked a jet2 package, great value for money.

We have just come home after our third stay in the last six months. The previous stays we have always been impressed with Cap Negret for the location, the helpful staff, the standard of rooms and whole hotel but this time we were disappointed somewhat right from arrival in the car park. When we pulled up in the car park at the side of the hotel looked up at the side of the building and it looked like a second rate apartment block not a four star hotel there were bikes stored on the balconies along with there travelling boxes, washing hanging up all over the place. I know the hotel is geared up for the cyclists but i understand there facilities provided for them for storage, laundry etc. The restaurant can be a nightmare when the cycling groups descend enmass some feel it is acceptable to come in still in sweaty cycling gear not nice for anybody else at the buffet. We were literally pushed out of the way a couple of times by them in their rush to get to the food and unacceptable that some of them were grabbing food with their hands which is a hygiene risk they seem totally unaware of other paying guests in the hotel. We felt that the ordinary paying guest comes second to the cyclists.

A lovey hotel with staff who go out of there way to make you feel very welcome and are always on hand to help The restaurant has a buffet style with good quality food and lots of choices We stayed here with family to celebrate husband’s birthday and was surprised with a complementary birthday cake Will definitely return

Superb breakfast excellent.food at night as long as you time your visits replenished often at buffet ideal location for cycling .private beach right on med ten minutes walk into Tim nice walks near buy entertainment at night mixed bag but all in all very nice hotel with helpful staff.

New year week was lovely and quiet, the sun shone but it was a little cold during the evening. We we're upgraded upon arrival to a whirlpool bath room of which was delightful. The views are stunning looking out to sea and over to the town. The staff are wonderful, friendly and a delight to talk to.

Lovely pool area and good location 2 minutes walk to tram Station to go on excursions Alicante to Denia (very cheap ) Must be a good choice for cycling as plenty of bikes &lycra about all in all a great experience 👍

I was desperate for a holiday to re charge my batteries, I chose this hotel as it was 4 star and the area was still sunny and warm in November. I had not been to Spain in a hotel before - usually going to a 3 star destination in Greece. After a longer than expected flight and transfer I was told that my room wasn’t available until 4pm disappointing but ok as my luggage was stored in a room at the hotel enabling me to have some lunch and explore. I ordered a Caesar salad at the bar, the salad was ok but it was served with chicken nuggets! My room was clean, compact, had a balcony which had a sea view and over looked the pool, all acceptable but a bit tight as it was classed as a double room. I had booked bed and breakfast as I was looking forward to visiting local restaurants for my evening meal. The hotel restaurant was a buffet style - fantastic choice, fabulous food and the staff were polite, helpful and approachable. I soon found out the everywhere seemed to be closed and that the 10 minute walk to the town was in fact about 25 minutes. I took a taxi to the old town only to find that too was all closed! I had a facial there. Amazing! Well worth the money and easily the best thing about my holiday. I took plenty of books, my knitting and spent my time trying to relax and doing some Pilates on my balcony. My Grandma had taught me how to sew and I always used her scissors when I was sewing and knitting. As usual I had used my scissors whilst knitting placing them on the table in my room so I knew exactly where they were. I walked to the local chemist for some headache tablets then returned to my room. The house keeping had been as my bed had been made and the bins emptied- I noticed my scissors ( 8”) were missing. I looked everywhere then phoned reception - there was a language barrier so I looked up the Spanish and spelt it out. The receptionist said she would check with House keeping for me. I heard nothing for a few days so I asked at reception who informed me that they hadn’t been found. I explained That I don’t use them out of my room and that I thought they had been taken. She just shrugged her shoulders! I have worked in Customer services most of my working life so I am appalled by the response. Jet 2 have said this is a problem that should be dealt with by the hotel but that they would phone them. There was nothing in the bins was their response and that they would forward the complaints procedure of the hotel. That was a few days ago and I have heard nothing. A 4 star hotel to me means the whole package which includes an excellent Customer service experience I would rate this as a poor 1 star. I didn’t receive one smile, a hello or a pleasant conversation for the whole week from the reception staff. When I asked if a taxi could be ordered, I was asked when for, Ada typed on her computer and said nothing else, so I asked if I needed to come to back to reception she nodded. I will not be returning to Spain for a holiday. Greece is

Just back from an overnight stay at this hotel. Was a little apprehensive after reading some bad reviews, so was pleasantly surprised! We had a Premium room with a side sea view. Room 447. Stunning views of the pool, the chiringuito , the beach and along the coast to Albir. The pool lights up in all different colours at night, simply stunning. There was live music on in the loung/bar which we hadn't expected. A really good duo, keyboards and electric acoustic that played really good music, slow as well as faster songs. Rooms absolutely spotless, very modern, tastefully decorated, with everything you need. Hairdryer, Kettle, tea, coffee and complimentary water, bathrobes and slippers! Beds really comfortable. Lounge areas are spotless, and also beautifully decorated. Even a shop and library here. Plenty of outside seating , all overlooking the pool and beach. Dining room is massive. Food is buffet style, with plenty of selection. Cannot fault the hotel at all!
