The Roundtree, Amagansett

The Roundtree, Amagansett

📍 273 Main St, Amagansett
★★★ 9.7 (35 reviews)

"Always the best time here. Hamptons can be hectic and crowded but you always find serenity and calm here. Beautiful getaway for couples and families. It’s so beautiful, the landscape, the decor, and beautiful continental breakfast in the morning. I also love how close they are to the beach and how they set up chairs and umbrellas for you. Great service all around."

The Reform Club

📍 23 Windmill Ln, Amagansett
★★★★ 6.4 (4 reviews)

"I would like to start this review by saying that I am an architectural designer and specifically design hotels for a living. At first arrival the grounds and room are stunning. Beautiful landscaping and gorgeously appointed room. However — when it came time to go to bed multiple functional flaws became obvious. There are several skylights with no shades. One faces the hall which has exit lights on 24/7 and in the dead of night let so much light in so I tried to cover it with pillows as you can see in the photos. The others are too high to reach and woke me at sunrise. The front door has no privacy lock or deadbolt and does not feel very secure. The mattress is also only an 8” thick pad — not a real mattress. While the room is gorgeous I would have preferred a dark room and comfortable bed. Maybe instead of putting marble everywhere they could have spent some of that money on a real mattress or some shades. Pathetic for the price."

Mill House Inn

Mill House Inn

📍 31 North Main Street, East Hampton
★★★★ 8.3 (38 reviews)

"This was our initial experience at the Mill House Inn located in East Hampton. We visited for the Hampton Classic, and the location proved to be extremely convenient. Our accommodation was situated on the third floor, which was ideal, featuring a king-sized bed, a television, and a bathroom equipped with a spacious soaking tub. Each morning, we enjoyed a complimentary breakfast that included eggs, yogurt, fruit, pancakes, coffee, tea, and more. This meal was available in a cozy dining area or could be served in our room. Additionally, there is a small snack area accessible throughout the day. The Inn itself exudes the charm of a bygone era and is well-maintained. The staff consistently demonstrated friendliness and attentiveness. The Inn is conveniently positioned within walking distance to downtown and other attractions. Overall, it was a delightful stay."

The 1770 House Restaurant & Inn

The 1770 House Restaurant & Inn

📍 143 Main Street, East Hampton
★★★★ 9.7 (27 reviews)

"The 1770 Inn & Restaurant offered us a romantic getaway in the heart of East Hampton, where the respectful, courteous, and friendly staff, especially Michael and Ferquan, treated us exceptionally well. Our room (#3) was not overtly roomy, but served its purpose for the weekend, with our only complaint being there was an electrical issue in our bathroom that was not addressed during our stay and forced us to alter the way were prepared for the day and evening. The complimentary breakfast in the main dining room offered us a convenient and tasty way to start the day, while dinner satisfied our desire for a dining experience in a romantic setting, with soft music, candlelight, a gas fire place, which oddly was not turned, and very good food. Be prepared to pay the East Hampton premium, but in our opinion, the experience justified the cost. FYI, the 1770 House has a tavern in the basement, which we did not advantage, and a well-designed, flower-filled sitting area in the backyard that was closed due to cold weather."

"The linen, towels pillows and mattress were the best. This is definitely 5 star quality. The staff and service is 5 star as well. I truly cannot think of a single thing they could improve upon. We stayed for 5 nights and thoroughly enjoyed the stay."

"A perfect welcome, a helpful and enthusiastic staff, responding to all expectations and requests. The room is magnificent, a fireplace on request, the breakfast delicious, in short, we loved it! Perfectly located in relation to a nearby beach and within walking distance of the center of Amagansett. Very easy to access by car to the famous villages of the Hamptons like East Hamptons or Southampton or Sag Harbor"

"We stayed at The Mill house Inn for 4 nights this past week. We are still on a high from our time there. Kenny, Taylor, Justin and Dawn were so accommodating and kind. There was not a need that wasn't met. They (Taylor and Justin) made delicious breakfasts, gave us chairs and towels for the beach and made sure we had everything we needed. Meeting Kenny felt like running into a long lost friend even though we had only corresponded via email a couple of times. Dawn gave us a pre-visit phone call to see if we needed help with anything prior to arrival (reservations etc). If you want a warm and inviting atmosphere, a cozy inn-like feeling and a place to feel like you're going home, stay at the MHI. I think it's unlike most Hampton experiences."

"What a treat this boutique East Hampton hotel was! I will not stay anywhere else when visiting The Hamptons. The hotel itself is gorgeous and loved the historical aspect. The room was lovely, super clean and so comfortable. Sheila and her staff were fantastic and helpful with any questions about the surrounding area. The location does not get any better. Steps away from the Main Street with all the restaurants and shopping and a 25 minute walk to the beach. Will be back!"

"this place skimps on amenities. no complementary water/snacks in the room, poor quality but pricey products in the mini bar and free red apples no one wants to eat. the furniture is old and rickety and the toilet paper was budget one ply. the place needs a major update. you don't feel pampered - you feel like someone is counting every penny. The one bright spot is the free breakfast which is excellent! It's a shame everything else was second rate."
