Great

The room was very clean and comfortable. I also enjoyed the open-air bath with a sea view and the large public bath. However, I had the katsu curry at the restaurant, but the pork cutlet was thin, the batter was greasy, and the curry lacked spice and wasn't tasty. I didn't think it was worth the 2,200 yen price. The portion was large, but it was disappointing. The front desk staff seemed understaffed, as there was no one there when I checked out, and I had to wait even though I was in a hurry. I would like to stay there again when there is more time.

The price listed online was for Capricorns, and there was no price listed for non-Capricorns, so I made a reservation based on that price. However, I was charged nearly 10,000 yen extra at the location.
People who are not Capricorns should be careful. I felt like I was scammed.

Amazing

A small, tranquil resort hotel with beautiful scenery, away from the city center. Located on a small island at the entrance to the bay, it lives up to its name with two white goats. We were lucky to get an early check-in and an upgrade to an ocean-view room. The view of Naze Port from the room was stunning. You can also see the bay's night view from the large public bath. At the breakfast buffet, which had a wide variety of dishes, I ended up eating too much of everything. They also have chicken rice and miki (a local dish). I recommend climbing the observation deck on the small hill behind the hotel before breakfast. The view was great and it felt wonderful.

The food was delicious!
We could choose between Japanese and Western food, and there was a wide selection of dishes to enjoy.
The bath was also clean and we were able to relax.

You can enjoy the best views.
Note that the hotel has no souvenir shops, convenience stores, or vending machines.
The overall design is predominantly white, so on sunny days, the sunlight is strong and the room is dazzling.
The room windows are large but unfortunately don't open. There's no balcony either.
The noise from the plumbing and drainage in the adjacent and upstairs rooms is loud.
You have to go outside to get to the hot springs.
There's no restaurant in the hotel; meals are served in the lobby. It felt like a business hotel, which was disappointing.
I participated in the free morning yoga. Doing yoga with the magnificent ocean view in front of me felt wonderful.

Outstanding

It's a shame that such a beautiful place doesn't have a private beach, and it's also a shame that there's no hotel pool. Breakfast is mainly Japanese food with a wide variety of dishes using local ingredients, and there's plenty of miki (a sticky drink similar to sake lees) and tropical fruit juices. You can also taste kasha, so if you like it, buy some at the supermarket or souvenir shop. Dinner is either Japanese or Western. There are no USB outlets in the rooms, so you'll need to bring your own plug! The hot spring on the 5th floor, with its indoor and outdoor baths, is fantastic. If you're a hotel guest, you can go in your loungewear and be given a towel set without even showing your room key, making for a blissful time. There are almost no amenities, so bring your own (only shampoo, conditioner, body soap, and hairdryer). Since it's in the bay, don't expect to see the sunrise or sunset over the horizon. There's a goat pen on the opposite side of the hotel entrance from the parking lot, so watching the goats is also relaxing. The hotel shop has a good selection of goods at reasonable prices.

Response from Property: Thank you very much for staying with us. We also appreciate you taking the time to post a review. We are grateful for your valuable feedback. We are sorry that we were unable to meet your expectations regarding the lack of a private beach or pool, while you enjoyed the beautiful scenery. We are very pleased to hear that you enjoyed the breakfast, including local ingredients such as miki and tropical fruit juices. We are also pleased that you liked the local confection, kasha mochi. We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the lack of USB outlets in your room, requiring the use of a plug. We are delighted to read your praise of the large public bath on the 5th floor as "the best." We are relieved to hear that you were able to use the facilities comfortably, such as being able to come in the loungewear and the handover of towel sets. We were also pleased to read that you were able to spend a relaxing time seeing the goat pen. Thank you for your evaluation of the products in the gift shop. We will take your feedback seriously to improve our services in the future. When you come to Amami, please be sure to visit Yagijima Hotel! Thank you for your wonderful review!

I stayed in a deluxe twin room for three nights, but I was disappointed that there was no sofa or anything to relax on in the room. It was a shame that there was a Japanese-style room area, but it was just tatami mats with nothing else. The other rooms and the public bath were clean and well-maintained. However, I think the food at the restaurant, both breakfast and dinner, was below average.
