My niece and I stayed at the Hotel Allure April 21-24. The staff were very nice and the hotel is conveniently located. BUT, my niece and I discovered that they have had an infestation of bedbugs since 2024, and have not fixed this problem? Absolutely unacceptable and preventable! Both my niece and I are bitten and now we must clean and disinfect everything in our own homes, plus dealing with the bites. Do NOT stay at this hotel right now.

I was looking to take my mum to Amsterdam and found this to be just the place for couple of quiet and cosy nights. Room was clean and tidy, I loved that we had our desk and kettle with essentials provided for us. Reception staff was very kind and helpful. We didn't spend much time apart from resting and sleeping and it was a perfect option for us as we explored the (heart of) town that was 30 mins by walk from the hotel. Hotel is affordable compared to other prices that can be found closer to central station, however one of the main canals was 5 mins walk from the hotel which was a pleasure to experience especially in warmer months when you don't have to worry about crazy rain attacks.

Me and my wife stayed at Hotel Allure in Amsterdam from 27. - 30. May 2024 and were highly disappointed with our experience. Despite the calm location and proximity to the city center, several issues made my stay quite unpleasant. Firstly, we encountered bed bugs, which is absolutely unacceptable for any hotel. My wife got bitten almost 30 times. We then could change the room for our last night, but she got another 3 bites. This not only caused discomfort but also raised serious concerns about the cleanliness and hygiene standards of the establishment. The carpets in the room were another major issue. They were filthy and looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in ages. In fact, they were so dirty that they could be described as a "cum rag," which is a shocking and disgusting state for any hotel room. Additionally, parts of our first room were incredibly dusty. It was clear that the cleaning staff had not done their job properly, as surfaces were covered in a noticeable layer of dust. Given these problems, the rather high price of the hotel is completely unjustified. I expected much better for the cost. A (partly) refund would be appreciated. While the location of Hotel Allure is rather calm and still conveniently close to the center, this alone does not compensate for the severe cleanliness and hygiene issues. I would not recommend staying here until these problems are addressed. And by that I mean some renovations including removing the carpets.

My experience at the Allure hotel in Amsterdam was overall quite unfortunate. From the moment we arrived, we were informed that the elevator was not working, which forced us to carry our heavy suitcases up uncomfortable stairs. Despite staying there for four days, the elevator was never repaired. Upon entering the room, we found a huge spider on the wall. We immediately informed the reception and the receptionist eliminated it with a vacuum cleaner. However, when we were about to go to bed, we noticed that the sheets and pillows were dirty. Although they were changed, we felt uncomfortable and skeptical. The next day, upon returning to our room, we found another spider on the ceiling. This time, the spider hid in the lamp and the hotel staff did not provide us with any solution. We slept that night with the spider as our companion. In addition to these problems, the room had a red carpet and a generally dirty appearance. There was also a hole in the wall. It is frustrating to me that despite paying a considerable amount for the room, no measures were taken to solve the problems that arose. I understand that unforeseen issues can arise, but my annoyance lies in the fact that nobody cared to try and solve the problems and provide us with a satisfactory experience. Frankly, I expected better service and a room that matched the qualities offered in a hotel of this level.

I had beg bugs in room 205. It took me a while to realise this as I didn't expect it at all! And because I was very busy and distracted with a work conference, and initially thought they were gnat bites or something. But after every night I'd have more bites on my hands, shoulders, arms and back. On the 4th day I reported this, and this is the point where I can either excuse the hotel as one of those rare events, or make you guys aware of a negligent place. Unfortunately, I'm going for the latter. They initially dismissed it it as just mosquito bites. So I explained that I've been bitten by both, and this was clearly bedbugs. I also pointed out that there were doctors in my conference who confirmed it was bedbugs. They then provisionally offered me a day's refund, which they later retracted. I asked for them to change my room. They refused. I didn't have the time, especially with the conference ongoing, to change hotels. I at least asked for bags to seal up my clothes so I didn't carry the bedbugs home, or  they wouldn't spread when I got home. They didn't even provide this! On the last day, I thought they would give me a refund for most of my 6 day stay, given it had been miserable, with a lot of pain and itching (I had about 30 bites by this point). They refused to give me any refund, but said they'd be in touch with me 3 days later to update me on the exterminator results, and possibly refund me then. They never contacted me. I feel very sorry for the next person who has room 205, and hope they don't take too long to deal with this. I'm happy to provide photo proof of the various bites I received so you can judge for yourself (though I'm certain it was bedbugs). Aside from this, the room was very run down and stained (see photos), with a light that half worked, and a bed board that had come loose. And the wifi kept failing. The worst place I've visited for over 100 Euros a night.

We had a good start in this hotel until the second day. We can back to realise my airpods were missing, I was tracking them and it said they were still in the hotel but had been disconnected from my phone. The housekeepers had been in our room already as the bed had been made (very poorly may i add) nothing else was done, sheets were dirty and clothes were just thrown on the bed. But i immediately noticed my airpods missing. I waited for the housekeeper and ended up confronting her, she was very obviously nervous and lying to me. she had a man with her who demanded to come into my room to check so i said okay at which point i opened the door and he just stood there and kept saying “no we haven’t seen them”. So i lost £150 worth of goods that were quite clearly stolen by housekeeping staff. wouldn’t recommend to anyone. Ruined my stay and is such a shame because the reception staff were lovely and helpful. Also after the housekeepers left i no longer had a location for my airpods (probably due to them going out of range and no longer being linked to my phone)

Hotel very close, by walking, to the train central station (20 min) and the museum quartier as well (25 min). The rooms are nice and the personnel very kind and available. Unfortunately, we have had a room at the -1 floor, just under the reception, so the general noise was a bit disturbing sometimes (also from the road). There was a little smell in the bathroom, due to the room position itself. Price good.

Positive: Very close to tram/metro and supermarket. The less positive: Very worn, carpets not cleaned, dust on the countertops, no daily cleaning other than a towel change, the elevator was broken and seemed to have been in this condition for a while. The staircase is very narrow and steep, making it difficult to carry suitcases. The window wouldn't close, and there's no power outlet in the bathroom. The shower stall is very narrow. The room facing the street is extremely noisy, which should be taken into account. For the price, I would have at least expected cleanliness.

We spent 4 days in Amsterdam... Stay at the Allure hotel, a small but comfortable hotel both because it is close to the city center and because of its proximity to the tram stop and the metro. The rooms are small but comfortable, a nice idea to have a kettle in the room to drink a cup of tea and relax after a busy day..comfortable beds, clean bathroom, friendly staff..

Good place in the center of Amsterdam. Close to Theater Carré and easily accessible by Metro. Get off at Weesperplein. Good room with 3 star equipment. Beds are okay, but a bit 'holey'. Private bathroom and toilet and balcony. You can have a good breakfast in the morning at the hotel at a reasonable price.

There are some good and some not so good points to rate about the Hotel Alure in Amsterdam. The good: - very close to the metro station (3 stops to the Centraal station) - in the middle of the university district - supermarket is about 150m away - tram station is about 150m away - about 20 minutes walk to the center - very good beds - clean Not so Good: - Overall, many of the corners of the furniture are scraped and everything (except for the really good bed) is very old. - It is very loud in the room facing the street because the tram runs directly there. Sleeping with the window open was not possible. - very small rooms - the toilet had no lid - room service seemed to come every day, but only made the bed every 2 days and never wiped the bathroom counter. Towels were changed daily. - unfortunately the room is not comfortable and has the shame of a room in a youth hostel. Due to the good points and because it was still relatively cheap among the hotels near the center (by Amsterdam standards) we would come back, but then try to get a room facing the garden.

I spent three days in this hotel during a business trip to Amsterdam for the IBC. The location of the hotel is excellent whether to go to the city center (central station 3 metro stops) or to go to the RAI center. The room I had (number 25) was located in the "basement" (actually a lower ground floor) with direct access to the interior courtyard. The room is basic but clean. The paint needs to be redone as well as the shower joints blackened in places. Ironing board and iron are available as well as a safe in the closet. The soundproofing is not perfect but the hotel, although almost complete, was very quiet.

Hotel located in a good location close to both the metro and tram stops. We found the room appropriate for the hotel's 3 stars. Breakfast is available extra, but we didn't use it. Too bad about a mix-up: unfortunately I found my bag torn into several parts and hanging under my jacket. Not having used it during the day, I only noticed it the next morning, while I was preparing things to leave. Being on the plane I needed it as hand luggage and this caused me great inconvenience. I immediately reported it to the front desk, and the girl was as shocked as I was but didn't know anything about it. I would have appreciated the sincerity of the cleaning staff and an apology. Otherwise pleasant stay.
