The room is not big, but it is convenient. It is right next to the Central Station and the ***. It is only a few minutes walk from the station along the main road. From here, it is a very short walk to the palace and ***.

The hotel is very affordable and in a great area of Amsterdam. We would leave the keys at the front desk while out which seemed unsettling at first, but wasn't an issue at all. Basic amenities included (bring your own hair dryer if you need one).

Hotel is Great for distance to the Main Canals, Transportation and food. Stairs May be hard to climb for older people.

I loved this hotel and the old building that houses it. A lot of hotels can be cold and faceless, but not this place. It's got a lot of personality. It is also in the heart of town, just down from the train station. Yet my room was situated so I didn't hear a peep. Yes it does have a crazy steep stairwell, but I knew it was coming and I enjoyed the challenge of it. I enjoyed my brief stay there

Great stay! Centrally located, walkable, clean, friendly staff. 6 min walk from Amsterdam Central Station. They can store your luggage if you arrive before check-in time or leave after check-out, which was very convenient. My room had no AC, wasn’t an issue for us because it was cold outside but wouldn’t recommend for summer. I think they have a couple of updated rooms with AC. Would stay here again!
