Het Zuid Antwerp|0.63km from Museum of Modern Art
The positives of this place are that it’s a fine old building within an an easy and pleasant walk of the newly reopened Antwerp art gallery and the city centre. There ‘s a good choice of restaurants in the area. Our room was fresh and comfortable and the aircon was a key plus - if you left the windows open there would be traffic noise. However there were two negatives: (1) The Tripadvisor description of the hotel says it features ‘paid private parking on site’. This is not true and needs to be corrected. The hotel in fact recommended reserving a spot at a nearby garage, QPark, which involved pre-paying €20 per night for the two nights we were staying. However what the hotel should have explained to us, but didn’t, is that there’s a second more obvious paid-parking garage in the same immediate vicinity (APCOA). I wrongly assumed it must be the right place, left the car there for two nights, and on leaving discovered it was a different garage. So I had to pay €50 for this garage, meaning our parking bill for two nights was a very steep €90. The failure to anticipate this potential problem is poor management by the hotel. I explained what had happened on check-out. Other hotels would have offered an apology and a goodwill discount from the bill, but not this one. (2) The design of our hotel room followed the ******* modern architectural trend of no door between the bathroom and bedroom. Who on earth wants that? For this reason, even if the parking hadn’t been an issue, we wouldn’t return. We’d be genuinely interested, as I’m sure would be potential visitors to the hotel, in its justification of this bizarre design feature.

Warm welcome. Nice clean & modern reception / rooms / bar. Bedrooms adequate size, clean, crisp white linen on comfortable beds. Smallish, but brand new shower room. Good quality 'pod system' coffee machine. Nice quality free toiletries. Not a lot of space for sitting / chilling and the bar shut at 8, but not a major issue as places to eat and drink til midnight within 50 yards, yet still quiet.. Three stars and better than the ( rubbish ) four star we left in Brussels. Would recommend this hotel

Hotel was clean and comfortable, and only a 1/2hr walk from city centre. Night clerk Berkay went above and beyond with late night service, ordering pizza when all local restaurants closed after late return from nearby event. Life saver!

This new hotel is really a destination hotel, the resort is indeed attraction and reason enough to make your way to Antwerp! You would best not leave it at all and spend the whole weekend there. But Antwerp has just too much to offer, that would be really bad not to look at the sights. But before walking through the city (from the hotel, all the attractions are accessible in a maximum of 20 minutes to foot) the sensationally furnished breakfast buffet attracts. With fine a la Carte food as a supplement. Only the eggs Benedict - to the for! After walking through the city then the bar, which is already one of the hot spots of the city, attracts. There you can be happy if there is still a cozy place free. And whoever then stands for the sense of sauna and swimming - for whom the large indoor pool and sauna area is ready. Beautiful one day in Antwerp can be hardly, than here in the beautiful new Botanic Sanctuary!

Most importantly- the location is great, the bed very comfortable and the whole place was very clean and nicely decorated. One should be aware, though, that all rooms can only be reached via rather steep and narrow stairs, we were staying on the fourth floor with an incredible view of the place and the surrounding restaurants and bars. Given the height of the floors, I was very happy I only had a small bag of luggage. Our room had a fridge and a small coffee machine, no kitchenette. We also had no heating in the bathroom, as the small heater there did not work, and only a small air heating unit in the room, which could not at all keep up with the frigid February temperatures. I would have also appreciated a bath rug. The price is acceptable for the location, though, and, again, it’s very clean and the staff in the adjoining café are very accommodating and friendly.

Super General manager, Super hosts, I would definitely book this hotel again and again if the service and terms would be the same. Central located, check-in procedure was easy. Bar with snacks/food/drinks was a excetional service :) Tip The bathroom smell - Can be solved to change/clean the drain/sifon. Tip: Airconditioning was'nt there or the instructions to put the airconditioning on was unclear. The room was too hot to sleepwell. Opening windows was a solution but then the sound of the voices among the streets was too loud. Tip: Lack of service with our booking. While I was trying to pay in advance. There was a pop-up message that mu room with breakfast wasnt available. But the payment process was still ongoing. After that, I saw I booked a Superior Room without Breakfast. I was paying more for what I wanted in first instance. There was no solution from the Hotel and/or Trip.com.
