In 2005 and 2009 we were in Vamos. After 12 years it was a return in October 2021. We knew the accommodation from before, but we had never stayed there before. Vamos has a central location for touring. We were there for a week. At the beginning there were two more apartments occupied. Then came a group of travellers, who occupied almost all of the premises. We were received by Helena and her son. We were assigned a very large 1 room apartment in the left building on the ground floor. We had a patio with chairs and table overlooking the swimming pool and mountains. The outdoor area made a good impression. The room was very spacious with a dining area including 2 sofa beds, 2 single beds, a complete small kitchen with sink, stove and refrigerator. There was also the possibility of entering the rear garden through another door. There you could dry laundry/towels on a drying rack. The facility was a bit dated, but everything worked. Since the outside temperature dropped to 10 degrees or less in the evenings, we had to use the air conditioning for heating. Unfortunately, it never got warmer than 20 degrees in the very large room. The bathroom was spacious. Unfortunately, the overall condition left a lot to be desired. The washbasin wobbled, the joints in front of the shower and in the lower shower area and the curtain in front of the window (directly in the shower) were moldy. The hotel is family run. You try very hard and are helpful. Helena gave us cakes or Greek sweet pastries every day. Conclusion: Considering that the complex is a bit older, but otherwise in good condition, the owner family is nice, we will return there again when we travel to Crete. However, when allocating the rooms, we will take a closer look at the bathroom and, if given, choose another apartment.
