While the property is clean and well maintained, the room we were in was absolutely not at the standard of a 4-star hotel: cheap and ugly furnitures and decoration, really cheap soap, handheld shower, no slippers nor bathrobe, and above all a small and pretty uncomfortable bed. The lady at the reception was not particularly friendly neither. They probably got the 4 stars thanks to the small pool / sauna / fitness, but the hotel itself is rather a 3-star.

Right on the water with a great vibe, I stayed here just one nigh, but would have liked to stay. The location is unbeatable, 10 mins from the water. This is a boutique hotel in the truest sense. I got a warm welcome, the hotel had a nice modern and clean layout and my room had some nice individual touches. I was lodged at the top on the 4th floor and maybe the room was a touch small, but not complaints. There is a honesty bar, a large terrace and a spa with a pool. Can recommend.

Wir waren für ein WE in Ascona. Das La Meridiana liegt direkt am See an der Uferpromenade. Man kann also in Ascona alles zu Fuss erreichen. Zur Bushaltestelle sind es je nach Gangart 5-10 Gehminuten. Für An- bzw. Abreise kann man mit dem Auto durch die Fussgängerzone ans Hotel fahren. Bei Abreisen am Sonntag kann das erhöhte Aufmerksamkeit und Geduld erfordern. Die Zimmer waren schön und ausreichend gross. Am schönsten sind natürlich die mit Seeblick. Das Frühstück war gut wenn auch nicht aussergewöhnlich. Sehr cool ist der SPA Bereich im Keller. Für ein Hotel dieser Grösse in dieser Lage eine absolute Ausnahme. Ich persönlich fand es schade, dass die wundervolle Terrasse recht ungenutzt, bleibt. Wahrscheinlich gibt es Gründe dafür. Wir hatten uns einmal aus dem Hauskühlschrank bedient um abends dort noch etwas zu trinken. Die Auswahl war jedoch klein und ich hätte etwas vorab kaufen sollen. Grundsätzlich war es aber die richtige Wahl und wir können das La Meridiana empfehlen.
